nope you asking for the impossible, the story is one a kind and there's no way to copy it. however my novel that i'm working on is similar, teleportation, earth being attack by aliens, and magical creatures. there's no countries fighting because that never happen in 2005.
I just want to say I never meant

Well it doesn't have to be a hundred porcent copy. Anything sharing some elements of what I asked for is what I'am looking for. But the more closer to my petition the better.
What I'm looking for is a visual novel who share a similar story as Gate. A modern day earth who stumble across a portal or gate that connects to another world or Earth being invaded by creatures from another world. If possible the other world must have magical creatures aswell as countries trying to take control of the world or establish peace with them.
hm im pretty sure you're looking for is chuunige, most of them arent translated though, pretty sure that @Clephas would know some.
Well, of course there's always this
Um what is a chunnige?

I'm wondering if I should go ahead and buy it on Steam. It's only like $14 right now as its opening sale which is good. (Regular price $20) I don't like that the CGs are cropped and it doesn't include the H-scenes, but on the other hand I want them to continue releasing VNs in an official and convenient manner so I'm torn...
Shadowwolf64 I must warn you the version that cost 14 dollars is the one without voices. The one including voices cost more.

Gonna be a hipster and say I want MOON and ONE re-released as well .
It's that actually even a game? No kidding but can't tell if you are joking or maybe some game is called like that.

This was already discussed in another thread: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/12091-little-busters-coming-to-steam/
Key is also simultaneously releasing their next Kinetic Novel in Japan and the US (US first according to them but I doubt much time will pass between the releases). The writing has kind of been on the wall ever since the Harmonia announcement, Key is doubling down on their western localization plans. Definitely expect Rewrite to be next and Angel Beats to follow not long after. The art in Kanon and Air might be too crude for official release, though, so maybe they'll skip those.
To crude maybe but if they got released I would still buy it. Old-school things are nice too. I love both new and old games.

Folk why wasting breath into trying to convince each other the opposite party is wrong?

fruitbat factory - little busters perfect edition (mostly editing)
waku productions - tomoya after (some doki scripts & rest from scratch)Alright that explains it! Thanks for the information.
-
anyone know who´s waku-productions, as they are supposed to handle the tomoya after stuff, provided by doki´s scripts etc.
Nope, never heard of them before. Google isn't helping. Anyways, source: http://doki.co/2015/10/31/tomoyo-after-and-little-busters-licensed-to-be-released-on-steam
The best part of this is that they're throwing out the Baka Tsuki portions of the translation, which were actually really awful.
Wait a second I heard it was fruitbat factory who were the translators. I feel confused now.

Well I'm grateful for they bringing the all-ages version, not mentioning little busters (and Angel Beats) are what most I'am interesting at playing from all Key titles. So happy news for me!
-
Well as long they're bringing them and comes out I'm not complaining.

A bad timing to start the kickstarter when most vn backers are currently broke after backing up muv luv.

Wonder how long this will be. Short like planetarian or maybe could be longer? I hope at the least it turns up to be good.
It will likely be planetarian sized.
Yeah I agree. Why else they would have localized it if it wasn't short? They still have to see how clannad sales go anyway it would be a bad move coming from them. Still might been a small chance it is longer but I doubt it.

I think Winged Cloud lifespan is getting lower. Well I always got this feeling they weren't going to last much as a company. We'll see how this change in the future.

Well as long someone enjoy the game in my opinion it has serve it purpose. The reason people gets angry with certain popular games it's because they're overhyped and many consider it annoying when people are trashing other games but they are attracted to games who aren't actually that good but all of a sudden they got very famous when there is other games that exist who are better but not famous and yet they consider these games inferior for some reason.

Already knew about the database but still thanks!

StormShaun I won't fall down into the pit of despair because I don't play AO games. Well I guess I'll read anything as long it interest me don't matter what kind of genre it is except for yaoi, otome and yuri visual novels.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! And about my favorite visual novels I suppose they're Daganronpa 1/2, Time Hollow and Umineko no naku koro ni. My personal preference regarding visual novels are the ones with lots of interaction points because I like how you can manipulate the outcome even if it just lead to a minimal change.

I don't understand why so many people bought this game on steam when people there say visual novels are infecting the steam store yet they still support the most hated visual novel franchise in steam to date? Don't see the logic anywhere.

Actually I've been around for a long time already. I only decide to join though very recently. Not bite all that hard? Sounds quite the unpleasant experience...

Hello everyone! I am a new member who is basically a guy who like anytype of game (gamer or depending how you want to put it) as long I find it fun to play. Start playing visual novels for the first time this year and did enjoy it. Found this page while looking for what visual novel games are out there and like it so I join the community. Say this from advance but my english and vocabulary is not too great but at least I'm good understanding english so whatever. I kinda prefer visual novels with many choices.
Any existing visual novel with similar pemise as Gate?

I won't call Tokyo Twilight what I'm looking for.....
Isn't half life more like a post apocaliptic fictional world who shares some similarities with the real world who citizen are oppressed by the government? I don't think neither of these two have anything related to what I asked. Still thanks for the suggestion. (Although both titles I already own them. Plus I haven't play the first half life but I did beat the second game and both episode 1 and episode 2.)
