Boobs are coming. A 18+ Patch is going to be released for it. So you can have BOOBS, and potentially get the game free.

My friend posted a comment the other day, he watched an anime and was like "Man, I want a Japanese girlfriend, all petite and cute, unlike ugly Western women."
He's...watched to much anime. He's confusing it with real life. Or just really, really dumb.

By the way, anyone holding off on buying...
The Cards / Icons / Backrounds for this are selling for major cash. Every card is basically worth 75 cents roughly, I saw a backround going for 18$! With several icons for 8-10$. You could make your cash back.

It's not that crazy.
In another KS I was part of, they had a 10,000$ Tier, that came with a host of rewards, but one of them was being flown out to the developers and being able to throw a pie in their faces. I think they sold 3 of those. Some rich people with money to burn can be...strange.

I think the failure of this campaign is a combination of a lack of marketing (launching the campaign a few days before Anime Expo was a bad idea that resulted in any traction slowing to a halt) and an overestimation of the demand for this VN. It's been fan-translated for a while now, doesn't have an anime, and even though it's well-regarded it doesn't have anything close to a fandom like Grisaia or Muv-Luv. $140,000 as the base goal is asking for a lot, and the stretch goals are practically impossible.
It's a shame, because I would've liked to reread this officially and with a better translation, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen at this rate. At a lower goal and with better planning this could've been successful. It's got a good average pledge per backer, but not enough reach to reel in the necessary number of backers.
The whole thing just seems like one big miscalculation.
We'll see. I've seen a ton of Kickstarters hit 72 hours, and being over 50% away from their goal and then in those 72 hours, exceeding it.

I think the only things you lose by not doing the gameplay are some tid-bits that explain the bosses' motivations for being against you and the game-over CG.
Not that big of a deal, since they all have the same motivation (it has to do with the game's theme) and you can just get that CG by playing it over and dying straight away.
Hmm. Ok, but do I select Skip Minigame segments, or do not skip? Can I skip them regardless later on? Because you said I can play it over and die right away.
Also I keep seeing a spelling error, 0 before words on the secondary line. Yes, I am using Japanese locale. Every second line of (Spoken) dialogue has this issue, though descriptive text does not.

@Mkilbride Did you pick regular version there? If so then I would suggest that you better to delete your Sharnoth and change it to full voice version of Sharnoth instead because it'll allowed you to skip the gameplay from very beginning and for other advantage it was obviously had all spoken line voiced. Hope it'll help.
That sounds good...I remember it being voiced, but not a way to skip the gameplay. The only other issue I had, I think, was just the sex stuff was thrown in pretty early and frequently. But a minor issue. I enjoyed the other one, with the Doctor and whatnot, a ton, so I went to play the next, but the gameplay tossed me off. I'll have to look into that version.
*Reading it, it warns me that I'll miss important CGS and story events if I skip the mini-game...? Why?
-
I really enjoyed this VN alot more than I thought I would.
I just can't believe how popular VNs are becoming in the west. I always assumed these would be things I'd never see in the West, let alone on Steam.
Honestly, at this point, in the next 3 years, I would not be surprised to see a F/SN NA release...ok, yeah I would, because Nasu would never allow it, but by god, cant' someone override his decision?!
__________
By the way, all hope is not lost. The most funding for ANY project comes on the first 1 day, and the last day. So it's totally possible to still hit the goal.
-
I tried to enjoy Shikkou no Sharrnoth, but no cheat program / way to skip the battles existed. That "Battle" System is god awful. Seriously the worst ever. It ruined it for me.

We sincerely hope you enjoy the patch in fully glory once it comes out.
Something about this comment...feels dirty. Haha.

I don't understand Japanese.
Besides, not everyone is voiced.I'm confused about the remake or whatever, as VNDB has this info:
Regardless, anyone have issues with the gameplay being kinda jittery? I got a 2500K @ 4.5GHZ here and am seeing nearly 100% CPU usage on two cores and sometimes the transactions / text kinda freezes and then loads in.

Hello!
@MkilbrideMight be easier to get those burning Q's answered at the official forums or even the Steam community Just a thought!
Altnerative project release date should be coming soon and will take a while.
As for the patch, we would rather not provide a date when we can't meet it at the moment. Sekai Project doesn't put their patches out at the same time as their initial release to my knowledge (at the moment), so we ask for some patience in the matter as well.
Sorry to see that many people feel that the new version of the game is not up to their standards/or "ruined" the experience. Feel free to drop a line on the official forums: http://community.muvluv.moe/index.php?/topic/566-muv-luv-feedback/#comment-6895 And we will try and see what we can do to make your experience better in the future.
Thank you!
Is this the Official forum? If so, I think I know why it's dead. The security questions. "Name a Muv Luv spinoff that has an anime adaption" "Muv Luv Total Eclipse" - Wrong. "Muv-Luv Total Eclipse" - Wrong. You see where I'm going? What if new fans want to sign up and ask questions? IF someone who has seen this stuff can't answer the questions due to the vagueness...well...yeah.
"Who is the creator of Muv Luv" "Age" - Wrong. Do I need the author? See, these questions are way to vague.

Decided to give it a go, saw Manga Gamer finally added the voices...
I'm only about 7 minutes in, but this translation is as bad as Manga Gamers used to be when they did machine translation. This is seriously rough. I mean I didn't expect the VN to be amazing, but I heard some semi-good reviews of it, but no one mentioned how poor the translation was...
The characters keep making weird comments that I can only assume are not translated correctly.
"What? Huh?! Wait, Kazupi? Whoa! Already?!"
This line has been repeated several times so far in the middle of a conversation...when nothing is going on, the text isn't describing such a reaction, nor do the backround images. It's confusing.
* Also, what's this Shin Koihime Musou I've heard about it? Is it a sequel? A retelling? Or just an upgraded version or something?
-
4x the pixels, yes. 4x the resolution, no. Way to be an ass, though, for no reason.
-
Your version looks nothing like my version was. I think I deleted it, I read it a few years ago...lemmie check, maybe I didn't...but probably did.
Ah, I did delete it, sorry, but here it is.
Also your math seems off...definitely not 4x.

Yeah, I see alot of people recommending that they skip Extra entirely...and move to Unlimited, with a rare few saying to skip and just play through Alternative. Such a terrible idea. The moments that make you tear up and care about these characters happens in Extra. Technically, you could start with Unlimited and still gain a feeling for the characters, as their personalities are different, but you'd also be missing out on some references in Alternative and whatnot.
I recommend people play Extra; but only one route, Sumika's or Meiyas. Both preferred - everyone elses routes are extra, but I find at the very least, Sumika's route is important to not skip, while Meiyas a close second. If / when I re-read Extra, I won't be doing the other Heroines routes, even though I remember finding them not terrible, just generic.
But so many moments in Unlimited & Alternative would foster NO emotion if you hadn't read at least SOME of Extra. I blame the confusing as fuck naming scheme. "Extra" makes it sound like you don't need to read it, as if it's a fluff piece.

The heck is Image Language?
* Oh I see. Huh. That's unique.
|||||||
I also find it odd there's not a warning about Muv Luv Unlimited. I figured there would be, like if I tried to start it, a pop up would be like "Warning: Muv Luv Unlimited is intended to be read after Muv Luv Extra" or something.
||
Any controller support?? Trying to get my DS4 controller to work with it...works with lots of other VNs and honestly been enjoying that in games alot lately. I find it easier on my wrists when reading.
|
Also, when is Alternative expected to be released?
-
No...even the original one requires the base game to patch it to.
-
Kagome form Comyu is nice. Yeah, but she uses a fairly generic character design. She basically reminds me of Majikoi and the #1 martial artist.
-
That is a toughy. Rin is such an easy answer. As is Caren. I dunno really. I'd also like throw an honorable mention in for Akiha from Tsukihime
But yeah, hard choice.

The PS3fication patch that exists looks good, but it runs at 640x480 and there is no settings menu for adjusting audio levels (I normally turn music down and voices up, with SFX being somewhere in between).
I figure the PS3fication patch to the MG version should result in a better final product, but who knows how long this will take or how long 5-8 will take to release.
The russian PS3 port project is still in alpha stage and only the first few chapters have started. This is very early in development, and it sounds like it will be difficult to get running.
I wish someone paid Alchemist for the license to get an official project. Or if Alchemist would release a translation so we can buy it on PS3 in english. All they'd have to do is license the fan translation.
What? Mine was Widescreen, not 4:3. The PS3Fication patch makes the game 1280 x 720p. The MG Version is not 4x the resolution, where did you get that idea?

Sure, if you're actually serious about it...the smiley at the end is misleading.
Dunno how it's misleading, but this guy hasn't turned down my latest offer yet, but I'll be interested if he does.

Really dislike the new art, lack of voices, and the original backround scenes. I know they couldn't get the rights, but it's absurd that the fan-made hacked together version remains the best.

More stuff has been removed. I'm over on Steam forums, and people are doing side-by-side comparisons. In the new version, they've a ton of animations / images, besides the H ones.

The user admits to being mistaken, after he looked at them side by side, but he kept comparing and found there are actually alot of effects missing.

I think Physical copies were Kickstarter only, for Extra / unlimited & alternative. Schwa is in the early stages, not much is known.
