  1. Most games like this are fetishy, but the person who recommended the Family Project - that's a good one for sure, has a good route involving an older woman.

There is this, which involves a teacher and a student, plus another older women at some parts.

It's basically a VN about sex, but I guess you could say some parts are cute. Besides the Family Project, I'm having a tough time thinking of it. I know YU-NO has some elements of this, but not full blown routes.

Only if you can't dissociate from what happens in the game. Like there are quite some people who can't (or aren't comfortable with) roleplay truly evil characters.

It's all the disgusting sex in it. I'm not against such things, but every review says you have to slog through a bunch of uninteresting, disgusting sex stuff, before you get to the actual meat / good part of the story. I'm not willing to do that.   It looks like a game all about shock value, not good characters or stories.

The game abandons the horror-mystery aspect midway in favor of

    (spoils)

      Reveal hidden contents

    magic and swords later on

And it becomes better for it. Main character is a total loser and waste of human genes until that point.

What about Yume Miru Kusuri?  Well to be honest theres only 3 girls and I only liked the Cat girl route, but it kind of has the theme you're looking for.

I played that. Really enjoyed it, I wanted to strangle that girl too.

Dangaroppa is on my list as well.

I'm almost with with Sharnoth right now, but really not enjoying it. It has 10 acts, yes? I'm almost on Act 9 and so far...nothing has happened, storywise. It feels like zero progress since Act 2.

That's why he faps to his collection of figures....

Which both nerds and Otaku do, I guess. :P

But if yer going to draw the line for Nerds / Otaku, then you're not going to find any, because in Japanese media, they're one and the same.

Is anyone else getting disconnection problems?  This is now the third day in a row I've been unable to play several games in a row without it DC'ing me at least once.

    Blizzard is getting DDosed hard.

Blizzard just did a ban wave about 3-4 days ago. Right afterwards - the DDos started happening. Just idiot people.

Also, Overwatch is now the fastest selling PC game of all time.

Pretty impressive. I remember so many people saying this game was going to flop, because Blizzard "Took too long and the hype has died"

  7. Any. I'm thinking Type-Moon myself...merely because Nasu is so Anti-West, that it'll never happen, so it's to me the one series that would literally take a miracle. Seems crazy to me, thinking how popular, how much money his series makes, the whole Fate Franchise, and he refuses to license Official Western translation as he believes all languages besides Japanese to be inferior.

  8. Just picked this up. It's on sale for less than 10$ on CDkeys, the CE was only 13.78$ as well, figured why the hell not, Lucioball got me interested. So far it's fun, but I really dislike the way cars handle. Way to jerky.

  9. Currently playing: Rocket League, Overwatch, The Witcher 3.

Eagerly awaiting: Dark Souls III DLC. It CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH. I'm even, ugh, considering buying Dark Souls 2 SoTFS, despite not wanting to give From money from that embarrassment to their name. I only later found out it was the B-Team, and then it made sense...especially when they charge you for a freaking update, disgusts me...but it's been on sale for 10$, cheap enough, and even a bad Dark Souls game is still a pretty good normal game.

The way I read your statement, it seems like your opinion is completely subjective as well. You don't like the crazy twists, but some people like me actually enjoy exaggerated stuff like that. It even has a term for it: hyperbole. A lot of people actually enjoy hyperbole, so yes, I could call your statement "crazy" as much as you did, even though it's "subjective", as you said. If anything, the VN doesn't have enough plot-twists, making a lot of the moments boring af because it drags on and on with monologuing.

And are YOU crazy? Comparing Ryukishi07 to M. Night Shamalavan or whatever the fuck his name is? One of the worst directors in existence? Yeah, you're the one tripping, brah, not me. M. Night's twists make no fucking sense. At least Ryukishi07's twists have some kind of coherence to them, referencing real world logic and history as opposed to M. Night's ass-pulls. So no, people don't just 'drool' over Ryukishi07's stories for no reason. I'm not a blind fanboy who doesn't see the flaws of his productions (hell, Ryukishi07's VNs are not even among my top 10 favorite VN, let alone any of my top favorite lists), but I could at least appreciate them enough to see the clear difference between someone like him and a hack like M. Night Shamalabutan. Even James Cameron is a better director than M. Night - and that guy supported Terminator: Genisys!

I referenced Steins;Gate not because I love it. Hell, I don't even like it that much either. I mentioned it because it has a very similar story as what Muv-Luv set out to tell, so all that hype around how Muv-Luv deconstructed the harem genre isn't all that amazing in hindsight. School Days deconstructed harem too, just to toss in another example of "someone else also did the same shit". Same with Key's titles like Clannad, Angel Beats!, and Little Busters. All of them rehashed the same story of "appreciate what you have in life" to death. Hell, it's become a cliche among many anime. So what's new, Muv-Luv? Why should I bother with you when you're whoring the same virus around?

Just going to say, yeah, I believe Ryushishi and M.night are very comparable in the way they write their characters and stories. Hell, even their real-life personal issues are similar. :P

  11. Are you crazy?  I know it's subjective, but to compare it to Key? Really? Key who hasn't made a new VN since like 1995?  My issue is he uses plot twists too much. People give M.Night Shamalayn shit for that, but he can use 8-16 plot twists a VN and people drool over it. I dunno, I enjoyed the VNs...but I felt like they shouldn't have been anywhere near as long.

As for Steins;gate, my issue is with how there's so many plot holes. It's Time Travel, sure, they'll exist, but Steins;gate gets tons of praise, I see in reviews and websites, for "Doing Time-Travel smart", and all I can think of is there's like 7-8 plotholes just on the surface level, let along if you dig deeper.

As for Muv Luv, yeah, it starts as a harem, but ends up going into one of the best VNS to date, being satisfying all around. If anything, Umineko, and Higurashi, start off at that point of the potential of being "One of the best", but then devolve into "But wait, there's more!"

    butwaittheresmore.jpeg

Not saying I regret reading them, they were fun, and I got some great music out of them, but I think ryuushiki or whatever his name is needs an Editor. He's like George Lucas when he got divorced and his wife left him, no one was there to tell him "No George, that's not a good idea." Same thing here.

Have you mixed up the meanings of "shit" and "water" as a child, because that's the only way such a shit taste could have come into existence.

I dunno, have you read Umineko? As I said, one of my greatest disappointments, same with Higurashi. Legendary VNs, so maybe my expectations were high, but...the guy can create an amazing start to as story, but his middle drags, and his endings are shit.

Not worth it. Play Umineko with that time instead. ML is disappointing

Disagree. Umineko is disappointing. I read all of them. All fucking 8 of them. I did it in a month. Around the 3rd or 4th one, I wanted to quit, but I had already invested such an amount of time...I HAD to finish it...one of the biggest letdowns of my entire life with Umineko, much like Higurashi. He can write a story, he can write characters, but he's shite at endings, that Ryuushiki guy.

Muv Luv + Unlimited + Alternative is definitely worth it, and better.

    As for this thread...

Confession: I think Steins;gate is massively overrated and incredibly mediocre. I've read both the VN and watched the anime afterwards, and there's more plot holes in that than in any other movie, VN, book, anime, manga, ect.
