Valve's policy on piracy has always been to make it easy enough to get the game that people won't even bother to pirate it. I don't think anyone, especially Sekai/Denpa, are going to argue that Steam does wonders for their sales and that the convenience of purchase and download, especially having it easily installable across multiple machines a single customer may have simply by logging into their account, are big incentives to buying the game from that platform. So it's mind-boggling that they're going in the complete opposite direction for their own websites with an imposed download limit. If they're trying to deter piracy, making it harder to get the game you bought is only going to encourage people to not buy it. People are too lazy to pay money for trouble.

Happy to see that HoshiMemo is being retranslated. The original translation was terrible. The game deserves better. Could really use some peace of mind from Denpasoft announcing 18+, though. If nothing else, maybe someone will create a patch to restore H-scenes or rip the new translation for the original 18+ release. Something. I'm 100% on board with buying a Denpasoft 18+ copy if there is one, though.

This has been going on for a loooooong time. There's been a ton of controversy for SP continuing to use Kickstarter as a platform for new releases (and dovac generally being a passive-aggressive asshat about everything) for a while. And it's not just this KS either. Of their last three, one failed, one cleared the goal with only two days left, and this one could go either way. The fact that this is the highest profile of the three really isn't helping to prove that they haven't outstayed their welcome.

Yeah, I just checked and I had turned it off. Shame. I have the one for Denpasoft's digital Iris shikishi and I pledged more than that amount, but... Oh well. Lesson learned and it's back on.

I heard about this, but never saw the email. Lost in the spam folder and wiped, maybe? Anything big I missed out on?

It's a touchy subject for some projects, I know. But I literally can't see any reason to recommend buying the Japanese version over the International one unless you just really need that $0.90 difference. It's not a fan translation, so I'm not going to apply the usual logic here.

I'm not following. Why? If people could read the Japanese version, they could have just bought it ages ago. Content-wise, there's no difference between the two. To the people just now getting access to the game, wouldn't an iffy translation be better than no translation at all?

Hi, Nao! I joined up with Fuwanovel as soon as I saw you post this topic to Twitter. I've been pretty excited about Ona-Ken since I found out about it and read the English demo. I'm happy that you've been so open with your new western audience. I'm also glad to see the LewdGamer interview is up. I've been waiting for it. It's a very interesting read. I hope you'll consider bringing the other Ona-Ken games to the west. The other games in the series look really good, too. Unfortunately, my Japanese isn't very good, so I can't read them very well. Hmm... There's a post in there that says the game is uncensored at DLsite. The demo had mosaics. I don't really want to necro the topic since it's been a while since anyone's posted in it, but while we're talking about the game, anyone care to clarify? Is the full game censored or not? I would think it would be censored if only for legal reasons. I can understand if it's a money issue and you only want to pay for a translation, but remember that a company like JASTUSA can also offer some additional advertising and even bring the game out uncensored since, as far as I know, you're unable to sell the game uncensored from Japan by law. But they've probably mentioned that to you already if you've spoken with them. If you paid for a translation from them and nothing else, how would you release it to the existing version at DLsite? Would there be a patch for people who have already bought it? Any thoughts?
