Thanks for the recomendations guys!. I definitely want to check out Making Lovers and Damekoi because they look to have a number of things I want to see in a VN. Too bad I will have to wait on the translation of both of those. Side note: when does Damekoi come out in English because I am super interested in it.
I stalled on Noble Works for some reason but that reminds me I should go back and give it another shot. I have no tried Otoboku due to the cross dressing protagonist but maybe I should check it out too. Prima Stella also looks interesting but no translation

So I am looking for something that might be a bit odd. I am looking for a VN with at least one Ojou-sama route BUT the main conflict of that route cannot be the parents disapprove of the relationship due to social status difference. Bonus points for the parents actually approving of the relationship. Side characters can disapprove and small sub-plots are fine but not parents saying no etc etc. The only VN I can currently think of that I have read that has this is some of the routes in Princess Evangile. And a number of the routes would not fit into this. Also being translated is a must since I cannot read Japanese, however VNs likely to receive a translation are welcome.

So with this game coming out in the coming weeks I've got a question about it. From anyone who has read it or would know is the game depressing or sad? I've been a bit down recently so I'm not in the mood for something that'll make me sad but I hear good things about this VN.

Are there any (preferably translated) VNs with a popular or school idol heroine. I know that in a lot of moege the heroines are typically beautiful and therefore fall into this category somewhat but I am thinking more along the lines of the kind you see in manga where the main love interest is the most popular girl in school and the male usually wouldn't have a chance with her. Specifically what got me looking for it is the manga Kuzumi-kun, Can't You Read the Room?. I couldn't find a VNDB tag like this only one for popular protagonist which makes searching for it harder.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Alright so I just got through what I assume is the common route (to the point where an opening played) and I've got a few thoughts so far I need to get out. Spoilers for common route ahead.
SpoilerSo after the 3-kai festival fight I've kinda hit a point where I don't feel as excited to continue as I had been. For me its a weird spot in the story in that even though nothing was really resolved there doesn't seem to be much of a conflict either. I mean they kinda put Tsujidou and MC-kun's relationship in a point where it feels weird for him to choose another girl. Granted I haven't seen what they do with the other routes so maybe they come up with good reasons but it seems weird to me. And as far as Tsujidou herself goes I feel like they moved to fast with her. I'm sure they come up with obstacles in her route but it feels like a weird spot to me.
Anyway more of a rant than anything but I felt like putting my thoughts into writing for some reason. I'll continue reading because I do like it and want to see more but I lost quite a bit of steam in reading it today. Feel free to let me know your thoughts as well.

Any route order recommended for this one? I’m the common route right now and none of the 3 really stand out and make me want to play theirs over the others. I assume Tsujidou is the main heroine so should I start with her or end with her?

In regard of Tsujidou from what I remember Trip (The translator) was dislike Majikoi as well, so I guess it's more on Trip's taste in which it's pretty incompatible with Tsujidou. That said, I would say it's still worth to check though if you want some Majikoi like VN, and more if you like comedy VN. Keep in mind though that you better don't expect another Majikoi because both of Tsujidou and Majikoi are different, and you'll have good experience. Have fun.
Ok cool. Majikoi is one of if not my favorite VN so its good to know that it will be similar if not the same. Thanks for the advice.

So I was a bit put off by the negative reaction by the translator to the VN but what does everyone else think about it? Is it worth checking out?
Also does anyone know if the DMM version requires Japanese locale setting? My laptop is set to Japanese locale but not my desktop.

So this may be an odd request but its something I have been thinking about recently and wondered if there is a VN that deals with this sort of thing. Specifically I'm thinking of one of the main heroines being popular (most likely school setting) but for some reason doesn't actually have people that understand her and her issues before the VN takes place. Or she is popular but people have the wrong idea about her like she's loose or whatever. Preferably translated and not super depressing but I'll take any you can point to with this character type.
I started thinking about this after starting Persona 5 (bought it on release but never got to it until now for some reason) and seeing the character Ann Takamaki. While she's not really popular with classmates she does modeling and people find her attractive which is similar enough to get me on this thought train. She is definitely misunderstood though. PS: No spoilers please I'm not that far into P5 yet.

So are all these games 2018 or later (looking at you Majikoi) or are any of these closer to coming out? At least any indication from the publishers.

When is the Denpasoft panel? Curious to see what they have to say after all the SP announcements.
Also very happy to see the Most Forbidden Love translation fro Mangagamer. I figured we'd never see a translation for this game. The title seems a bit odd to me, but then again I don't know what it translates literally to either.

The game came out for backers (and I assume on Steam as well). After the wait and hearing about the TL I'm kinda meh on playing it right now (plus I'm busy trying to suck less at Tekken 7) but I do want to check it out for myself fairly soon.

Ewww bummer to hear the translation is so poor. I kickstarted it though so I'm already going to check it out. Going into Kickstarter you have to understand you could be throwing money away (not that you can't complain).
Also I do understand voidpointer at least to the extent I don't care if the translation is similar to the original Japanese, but the thing I do care about is the quality. You could not understand the original source material at all and put out your own story based on the CGs presented and I would only really care about if it was good or not. Unfortunately it seems like even if the story and everything else is good the actual sentence structure and overall grammar is pretty poor.
It's too bad since I was looking forward to this coming out as I am looking for something to read with a supernatural/fantasy setting.

What is taking so long?!? I think the update to say they submitted it to Valve makes the wait worse... It's not like Valve checks for quality or anything... how long does it take to put something up on a server

Looks like they have submitted the game to Valve for the Steam release. So I'm hoping it will be up by the weekend. Anyone know how long the process normally takes?

So I downloaded Makifes off of DLsite and put in the english patch but I'm getting an error on startup. The error I'm getting is:
Script Error.(GetVar)Anyone seen this or know how to get in touch with any support for DLSite or someone? Confused as to where to go next.

Honestly I avoid this by not buying physical media. It is so easy now to just get most of your VNs through download whether it be Steam, Denpasoft, or Nutaku. I do have some physical anime and otaku stuff but I make sure anything I have displayed isn't porn or anything that would cause people to double take. If you do have that kind of thing and don't want to be confronted about it just don't have it out.
I don't know your circumstances but from my point of view if someone asks about something like a VN just say its anime or a game or something, I doubt many people will probe further if they have no interest and if they do they would most likely understand.
I agree with Dharma that there is no reason to get mean about it, the guy just asked a question.
Also as a side note: where do you live that you can go out and purchase physical VNs and the like? I just cannot imagine buying that from anywhere but online.

So I'm looking for something I haven't been able to find in VNs yet. At least not exactly what I'm looking for so I thought I'd make a thread here seeing if there is any. I'm looking for a VN set in a fantasy world a la Konosuba. So far the only thing I've read that I would put in this setting would be Kyonyuu Fantasy, and while I did enjoy it for what it is, I would rather a non-nukige. I know there is Aeslia and Seinarukana which I think would fit but those are SRPGs to my knowledge which is cool but not what I'm looking for at the moment.
So does anyone have any suggestions for me? Light hearted and translated are preferred but I will take a look at any that fit the bill.

So besides the Steam version, would the download version sold through JAST function the same as the Japanese version? Or would that be the same as the Steam version? More asking in general if anyone has an idea if it would work since I know you are just planning a patch for the Jap version.

Answered truthfully and said wolf girl. I know it's not that different than what we usually get but it's my favorite. As long as it's not more cat girls I'm happy though.

I'm confused what this game is based on the VNDB page for it. Is this an english original game or is it a translation that has a separate page on VNDB? Trying to see if I should check it out and the main concern I have is Moenovel's reputation with If My Heart Had Wings. So curious if it has a bad translation or if it's worth checking out at all. (Not that I'm expecting amazing things but was curious since I saw Pulltop on it)

Isn't that basically humanity at the moment though? Or at least western culture since I can't comment on things that happen in other languages and cultures.
Also as for the topic, while it sucks that this guy spent a bunch of time translating the game and hes not getting anything out of it, I don't see anything that SP did necessarily. Maybe they could have given him a heads up before hand to tell him they were licensing the game and weren't interested in hiring him for the translation or couldn't due to something Giga wanted or whatever the case is, but maybe they didn't know until recently? I mean I just don't see a way this is all SP's fault.

Anyone know where the save games are stored for this game? I use 2 PCs so I need to keep my saves in the cloud and I cant seem to find them for this game.
