  1. I agree with pretty much everything Hitazo said.

The main heroine, Keziah, is a great character and honestly, I loved every moment she was on screen. The biggest problem with the VN, in my opinion, would have to be the side-routes, which are about G-senj tier. And also the very, very awkward timing for H-scenes. And there's a lot of them, though most are IFs that aren't relevant to the actual plot so you can just skip them if desired. Otherwise, it was hype-city, fun all around. Really wish there were more like it, and I wish I could've read it a lot sooner.

  2. Both were great.

Majikoi had a fun, giant cast of characters whom were all so fun yet insane. Chris is probably the most adorable thing in the world during her route, right there with Wanko. Fights were definitely fun so long as Momoyo wasn't involved (except in one or two cases) and I don't recall actually disliking any one character, only liking others a bit more. Kuki Hideo and his theme are a godsend. Only problem Majikoi has is that most routes that aren't for the main heroines don't really amount to anything but H-scenes. I was really hoping for a better Kokoro route. :C

    Grisaia on the other hand...

I enjoy Yamato as a protagonist quite a bit. But Yuuji is on another level. A lot of the better comedy in Grisaia in my opinion is just when you're listening to his thoughts. His pondering about beans is the first thing that comes to mind. While not as big a cast as Majikoi, I didn't dislike any heroines at all. Yumiko was my least favorite, but she wasn't bad. The only problem was that some of the routes weren't so great. Sachi's in particular. But I understand that it is important to look both ways when crossing a road so I don't mind they used her route as a PSA. While the pacing did die down quite a bit, I preferred Amane's the most. I prefer Amane the most so maybe that's why?

I would say that Grisaia is my preferred, but only by a little. Again, both were great.

I find this to be pretty insulting, as someone that's had issues with self-sabotage and struggled with motivation problems.  It's pretty ignorant to assume that people act like that because they just don't care enough or are just too lazy to lift a finger.

I actually like Sachi the most, because she feels the most real, IMO, and I can sympathize with her.  They admittedly took the whole "make a painting or else" thing too far, but it would have been pretty boring to read about her slowly sabotaging herself over time.  It's fairly obvious why looseboy wrote it the way he did, even if I don't think it was as good as it could have been.

    Literally me irl xddd

I wouldn't use something so soft as "ignorant". I think people who think that way are outright idiots who didn't bother to read into anything or try to understand the character at all. I'm being sorta a hypocrite in this way because I literally CTRL'd through any part that involved Natsumi, but still.

I never said we shouldn't use humor. What I don't like is people that don't live in the US or that aren't American making fun of the 2016 election because there are some people that will legitimately lose some rights.

Who is losing rights, and what rights?

  5. I like my heroines intelligent, nihilistic, and with a wicked sense of humor.

Aesthetically? Red hair. Cat ears. Zettai Ryouiki. And lolita.

Personality-wise, I would have to say I like anybody who is funny, arrogant, or confident. Mostly as long as they don't annoy me, are cute, and fun to see, I won't mind them. Kuuderes are a turn-off for me unless there's some form of catch to them (Anastasia from OniAi being an example of one I like). I tend to dislike heroines who are cowardly or lacking in self-esteem (Fucking Natsumi from Sharin no Kuni) and essentially just aren't fun or interesting to read about. So pretty much, I just dislike Natsumi and don't really care too much for Kuuderes.

@Deep Blue named all of my favorites from each of those VNs they mentioned, and I would also say I agree with the appeal of gap-moe to an extent.

  6. I wish I could vote for the first question only. I need to beat the game 4 times before I can honestly answer the second one.

Yves and Akane are my two favorite heroines. I never get bored with arrogant girls and Akane is just the cutest lil' tryhard. I honestly wish the other two grabbed my interest, but they just don't. Yuzu's most interesting trait IMO is her name and I never did care for robot girls that weren't from Demonbane. It is very possble this may change when I do get around to their routes, but that is very unlikely. That being said, I like the music in the game, and I remembered that Koiken Otome has my favorite VN UI. Plus, it doesn't lag or the sort, like Princess Evangile.

Also there's a trick for building a great soundtrack: start putting effort on a main theme and then make spinoffs of it, with different instruments, different keys, different tempos etc. Something good's bound to happen. In Japan you throw a stone and there's an accomplished musician to hit.

I think Muv Luv was the first VN I noticed that did this, and its soundtrack was overall my favorite.

question: is this vn same level as princess evangile, da capo, noble works or something?

In my opinion, that would make Koiken Otome rank around a six if that turns out to be the case. Both Princess Evangile and Noble Works just don't have enough in them for me to continue, but I can't call the bad either. Just... boring? Girls are cute though, and I have not played Da Capo.

Anyways, it is starting to sound like Koiken Otome is going to be okay at best, which is saddening considering how much effort and time was put into the hype and translation. That being said, I'll probably still play it all the way through because it does have some fantasy elements that hopefully will keep me entertained.

Well, we’ve done it. Koiken Otome is now at the stage where we’re ready for release. We’ll need a bit to:

    • Finalize some lines (two of them).
    • Create the patch.
    • Test it to make sure you can get from the start to finish, and that everything has been included (can’t be missing those images for example).
    • Create the torrents and start seeding, and upload to a file host for those who prefer DDL.
    • And finally to create the post and release the patch to the world!

    Stay tuned!

"24 hours" has been switched to "stay tuned". My precious heart.... Why you do this to me? :conspiracy:

Remember11 is criminally underrated. Ever17 (its indirect precedessor) is far more popular, but Remember11 does practically everything it tries better than Ever17 save for the ending and even that is debatable. Atmosphere, pacing, characters, plot- R11 is just better at everything and I say this as someone who has both VNs in his top 5 VNs of all time.

edit: There's also the fact that Remember11 is exceptionally devoid of romance for a VN while Ever17's mostly reliant on heroine-based routes to progress the story. I'm not saying romance is an inherently bad thing -hell, Ever17's Sora route is probably my favorite arc in any VN and definitely my favorite romance in anything- but I think it contributed to Ever17's popularity.

I can't agree with you with either of those points. Remember11 just didn't do it for me. I liked it a LOT less than Ever17, though it has been a while so I might need to replay it to give it a proper rating. Also, I thought Sora's arc was good, but Tsugumi's involvement in it just came off weird to me. Tsugumi's route ended up being one of my favorite routes for romance, too. Maybe we just have opposing tastes, though.

"OMG, it has NTR, it must be a shitty game". Probably heard that trash like 50 times by now. It's actually pretty fun gameplay and requires planning so you can prevent your waifus from getting NTR'ed.

Wait. I can prevent my waifus from getting NTR'd? Because I absolutely despise NTR, but if it could be used as incentive to do well, I could see myself enjoying the game. Unless I fail, kinda like Beelzebubs in MGQ, except (hopefully) less flies.

  11. Ah, I remember last time I skipped through a VN just to get to H-scenes. There was a lot more poop than I had wanted (that is to say, there was poop to begin with). Never again will I do such a thing. Eroge! had such wonderful art and voice acting, but certain parts just weren't for me. Probably should give it a lower score, but I digress.

Anyways, I agree with Okarin in that I prefer scenes that have some form of buildup for me to enjoy them. Not the amateur porn thing. If I'm in the mood for sexy time for realsies, I satisfy myself by simply shitposting on forums or watching "King Archer". Depends on exactly what mood I'm in.
