  1. Welcome to the community, hope you enjoy the forums

My Favourite VN is If my Heart had Wings, this is because it just does everything right, story, characters, hitting you in the feels, comedy. You name it, this VN does it perfectly.

  2. The style is either called chibi, Japanese slang meaning "short person" or "small child", or super deformed.  They both refer to the same thing.

I'd never heard of the chibi style referred to as super deformed, but I saw it on Grisaia's VNDB page, and the rest is history.

EDIT: Oh my God, apparently this exists.  This is hilarious.

Thanks mate, it was so frustrating trying to describe these without giving them a proper name.

  3. Exactly this. I got bored with Grisaia because I didn't like any of the characters, nor their interactions, but I loved Rewrite from the beginning because I loved the characters.

i was also bored with the characters at first, wasn't really able to appreciate them until i reached the choices, which wouldn't have been a problem if the common route wasn't so long

  4. G'Day everyone

Grisaia no Kajitsu is one of my favourite visual novels and, dare I say, it's the best visual novel I've read.

The only problem I really have with it is it's incredibly long common route that doesn't really go anywhere and drags on.

It got me wondering, does a long common route take away from a visual novel's overall quality and re-playability?

I personally feel that, while the quality isn't generally a problem, he re-playability does suffer.

    what do you guys think?

  5. I've recently discovered that art style and character design can play a significant role in VNs.

I'm playing Air right now; so far i'm liking that story, characters and music, but the character designs are a little off (there just seems to be too big a gap between the mouth and the chin).

  6. Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy your stay!

    What's your favourite VN?

    Have a moe:

If you're taking recommendations, I strongly recommend Umineko no Naku Koro ni, just play it with a open mind, okay? Or it really turns into a mind screw.

Hope you have fun and I'll see you around.

Everyone is a potential lolicon, everyone. Once you embrace that potential, you'll be above human. That said, consider joining our ranks.

Thanks for the recommendation, i'll check that one out

  7. G'Day all you wonderful people.

My name is Alex Wallace. I'm relatively new to visual novels (and forums for that matter).

I first started reading visual novels in December 2013 thanks to the recommendation of a friend (Katawa Shouju was my first VN for those who are interested). Once I've gotten the equipment necessary I plan to do a review show on VNs which I'm really looking forward to doing.

I hope that I can contribute to this forum and the site in the near future and I look forward to working with you all.

  8. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen of Fuwanovel

I've been playing a whole bunch of visual novels recently and was wondering about the specific process done to make a fan-made translation.

I'm someone who would really like to contribute to this site one day, so could someone please enlighten me on how the work is done?
