  1. I havent finished it yet, only the Ellis, Hagino and Takeuchi routes, but its a very good one, in my opinion, you should definitely try it out
  2. This is another request thread already sorry, but I have a little more specific idea in mind this time, so thats something, right? Well, anyways, I am currently still going through Canvas 2, having done only a couple of the routes so far, but between it and Katawa Shoujo, I have decided I really like the basic premise at the bottom of them, the similarity between them (schools for special types) In Katawa Shoujo, everyone is disabled, in Canvas 2, everyone is fairly gifted in artistic areas, so, I was wondering if there were more visual novels that shared this setting (Schools for Special/different types of students) Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention, the premise of the Special/Different aspect doesnt have to be the same as Katawa Shoujo or Canvas 2 IE: it doesnt necessarily have to be Artists or Disabilities, it could be like, musical, or magical, or whatever
  3. Welcome to Fuwanovel, we do sincerely apologize, but we will have to ask you to check your soul with the receptionist, as the overlords will need it for their business, but don't worry, they took the rest of ours too, and we're still fine But, seriously though, welcome. And I will definitely second Katawa Shoujo, that VN is simply beautiful, great artwork, touching routes, its a must.
  4. I think I may retry, and do just one route, with the girl that I liked the most, or maybe just one girl at random, see how differently the story feels....
  5. *Tsundere-mode, activate* N...n..no, I was...planning to play it anyway, right after I finished my current one, it couldn't be helped that I happened to answer in this thread right before I started playing it! *Tsundere-mode, finish*
  6. So, you guys know at the Home Base phase, where you have the 2 options for Aisha, Rinrin, and Shuri, and then you have the 3 options for the rest of the generals, do you guys use all available options, or do you like, do one Route at a time, all loyal and stuff? No reason I want to know, really, just wondering. Sorry I added the poll after your reply Ryoji, when I read your response, and did actually think about it, I thought it may be fun if this was a poll :S
  7. As there are alot of replies, that I didnt read fully :S im sorry, I am sure this point has been brought up, this....personality trait? is not unique to fate/stay, not in the least, in fact, the large majority of protagonists in nearly all cinema, whether anime or live-action, have that mindset, and most protagonists in the large myriad of games have this mindset. It is in fact, a common mindset in actual people, and while it may SEEM sexist, it is more in-grained behavior than anything else. That's just the way the world was, and for the most part, still is, for thousands of years, men protected women. It has alot to do with the males mindset of wanting to be the provider, to give to his special someone, even to give protection. Men have a great deal of pride, and part of that pride comes from our desire to be the best, because we think that if we are not the best, then why would we deserve to have what we have, this great person, so we believe we have to be able to do everything, even to protect, when it is clear that our special someone is far more capable than we could hope to be.
  8. I thought about doing Sengoku Rance, because on the face it does seem like I one that I would love (as I do love most things set in the 3 kingdoms/warring states periods) but upon reading the synopsis on Visual Novel Database, and seeing that it has a rapist protagonist, I very quickly shunted it out of my mind, as I am in no way interested in being that sort of protagonist.
  9. Currently going through Daibanchou, with Canvas 2 on right after that. Daibanchou is...different from the few other VNs I've gone through, lol.
  10. Ok, thank you for the response Aaeru, I think this is going to be the VN I read next, Canvas 2
  11. So, I looked at them, on VNDB and it doesnt look like it, but I just wanted to ask to be sure. Is Canvas and Canvas 2 related, or are the basically 2 different worlds? Like is Canvas 2 a direct sequel of Canvas, or a stand-alone?
  12. Yeah, I finished Hanako's, Lilly's, Shizune's, and Rin's. And I definitely agree, Hanako especially, but also Lilly's routes were just amazing in my opinion also.
  13. Thank you for the recommendation, I will definitely check it out.
  14. As there are a dizzying array of choices from as many sources, I would like to ask for rec's from some people who are likely or possibly more knowing in the VN area. So, the VN's I've played were Koihime Musou, Shera My Witch, Wanko To Kuraso, and Katawa Shoujo. Katawa Shoujo was my favorite, with Koihime Musou being the second. I like the fact that they both had a fair number of heroines, so a good number of heroines wouldn't be a problem. I heard about a VN called Mentaru Shoujo on a Katawa Shoujo forum, but the only message board I could find about it had almost detailed information about the heroines, and I didn't like that personally, I like the feel of getting to know them myself, you know? But I do plan to look into it eventually. I don't really know what would be good to put, since I haven't really had much experience to know what would be relevant or not. I do like stuff that is out of the ordinary, at least a little, like even in Katawa Shoujo, its basically a different world than what I am used to, so it worked with just the fact that it was a school for the disabled, and not something extraordinary like, say, Mech's or Magic or something. So...basically...I guess anyone have any suggestions of decent VN, lol. Oh, but if it has an anime adaptation, I would prefer if it's not basically just a Visual Novel version of the anime, like, if there were 4 girls chasing him or something in the anime, but he chooses the obvious main heroine, I would prefer the VN to be open and have a route for the others, as I tend to like those girls more. It's ok if all the heroines routes were written by different people, like I think was done in Katawa Shoujo, at least, it seems like it at some points, but I may be wrong. Hmm...the way I wrote that out, it seems like I am asking for just romances....thats not too far off though, I guess, I mean, I like romance in just about any movie, show, or game I play. Any sort of theme or basis is fine really, but no Shounen-Ai/Shoujo-Ai stuff. Unless the Shounen-Ai involves a route with a cute trap *mischevious grin*. Well, sorry for the wall of text, like I said, I don't really know what sort of info would be relevant to a request of this sort, I appreciate any time you spent reading it, and thank you for any time you spend on a response. I also apologize if this isn't the kind of thing we can post here, or if I posted it in the wrong spot.
  15. Well, my collection is still pretty small, the only others I have read were Wanko to Kuraso, Koihime Musou, and Shera, My Witch/Succubu Soon Although with the selection that Fuwanovel seems to have, I suspect that list will grow fairly soon lol, while the amount of sleep I get will diminish exponentially :S
  16. I don't personally mind h-scenes in one way or the other, provided that the entire game isn't just one giant fap-session. I don't mind there being a large amount of h-scenes, as long as the story is at least somewhat redeemable (but I have a fairly low bar, so that's not exactly hard.) On the same token but the other hand, I also do not mind if the novel has no h-scenes in it at all, as long as the story hasn't become so watered down, or weird, like they are trying to 'specifically' navigate around what would have in any other story been an h-scene. Although I don't know if this describes my stance all that well.
  17. Well, actually thats just a screen name I use online, I am actually Rob. So, I am from the US, I, like Im sure many here do, both watch anime and read manga while telling the giant fib that I am attempting to slowly learn Japanese . I like Visual Novels, and was directed to this site by a friend on myanimelist . As I seem to read alot in forums, my first visual novel was also Katawa Shoujo (Hanako<3) I have played others since then, and enjoy the medium thoroughly. Hope to have a great time with you guys and I'm sure maybe one or two gals at least. If you have any other questions, just ask and I will be happy to answer them. Probably.
