  1. That would be great!! feel free to download the game here so you can check out the files http://wanvn.blogspot.se/2012/10/vncancel-format-download-link-cancel.html,

when we hacked the game we got the script and dialogue in txt notepad files. so it's either that the text will look like what you said or it won't work at all? :S Isn't there anything else we can do? I heard about ONScripter that supports other languages but I don't exacly understand how it works.

I have this VN, but thanks.

As I said these .txt files you got are useless for the game. Authors of this game included these files by mistake while they was making a 1.04 patch. They might be exactly the same as the actual scripts, but might be not. The actual scripts are in encrypted(or compressed?) file nscript.dat

Yes ONScripter is probably the way to go. Not sure. In any case, if you want a simple answer to your original question - there is no such tool you can use to make your translation work. It'll require quite a bit of work to make it work (too much "work" in a few sentences? :DD)

Edit: though making it work with a crappy text might be an option, yes. Also I don't remember about wordwrap. Most likely there is no way to do it  too. So:

your text probably will be tr

anslated to the next line lik

    e this

  2. I might be able to insert some stuff for you, will check on that later. Haven't actually did anything with this engine for a long time. BUT there are 2 things to note:
First, the scripts for the VNs on this engine are not located in the file arc.nsa. After patching this VN to  ver 1.04 you might be found some 0.txt files inside this archive, but I think they were included by mistake and the engine itself doesn't reads them. I believe version 1.00 didn't had these .txt files inside of the arc.nsa
Secondly, this engine does not supports single-byte English (or any) characters. Don't remember how bad it is but there can be 3 possible outcomes:
    - it won't work at all and you give up on the idea
    - it  works  but  the  text  looks  like  this
    - you port this VN to different version of this engine

Anything of what I said above might be wrong. My memory sux.

  3. Yup, looks like it. I've been doing a little more nosing around, and it seems like I got the  PC game + voices from Realta Nua, and if I want to use that specific patch I'll need the Realta Nua PC Port. (Whatever that is...)

Any idea where I can find and download it?

Also, thank you for how quickly you responded.

I think this might be what you need. Though don't be mad at me if it's not. I don't really follow this stuff for almost a year.

  4. Possible reasons for this problem:
    1) filenames already broken in the release you downloaded
    2) filenames got broken during the process of extraction files from the archive. Never use windows explorer to extract zip archives (not only because of possible names problem). Use 7zip or winrar.
Check your locale. It should be set to Japanese even before you extract that zip archive.

Also make the path to the krkr.eXe contain only ascii characters. This will probably make things work. (most of the characters from Japanese codepage should be fine, but just to be safe)

Some additional stuff if things still won't work:
    - savedata folder (including files in it) should not be read only. It can't be that it "reverts" on its own. Most likely you're doing something wrong.
    - if you had a "savedata" folder after you extracted .zip archive - delete it.

Anyway. I hope you'll learn the lesson that prepatched/preinstalled releases are crap. Especially the ones in zip archives. Trying to accommodate to stupid and/or lazy people never does anything good.

From what I can tell it's saying that it could not open krkr.eXe (the file extension being called eXe is actually weird but idk...)

There's nothing weird with this extension. Whatever the ones who made crack or even the original developers was just too lazy to rename it to something better.

  5. You will have better luck asking them directly. Also you seem to be extremely confused about fate versions
To make any of the fate patches work, you need to download only the right version of the FSN. Your description of the problem makes a little sense, but my guess is that their patch expects you to have 3 parts of the PC version of the 「Fate/Stay night Realta Nua」 without any English patches,  while you have 「Fate/stay night」 2004 (non-realta nua) + original English translation. And even if your Fate release mentions "realta nua" somewhere, it doesn't necessarily means that this is original RealtaNua and not the old 2004 version with old fan-made patch applied.

  6. Hmm, I've been trying the compatability modes, including XP SP2, but no luck so far. Changing the video settings has a tendency to break it further and give me a black screen or a messed up screen. I may just end up playing it windowed if there's no easy fix for it.

I've been playing it in windowed mode because I couldn't fix the fullscreen mode, it's still very playable, but I'd feel more immersed in the game if I could get it into fullscreen.

Yeah, I agree. I can't read VNs in windowed mode myself. (unless its a rare case when i can freely resize the window). The worst part about this... Never7 can't even be launched under virtual machine. At least with VirtualBox even with installed Direct3D it doesn't allows to select something other than RGB emulation mode, which simply crashes. So... I dunno. Try to update some video drivers, update directx9 also. Maybe that'll help. Other than that, there isn't anything you can do.

  7. Yes, it is a problem with the VN and if you only have a lag but not a complete or partial black screen - consider yourself lucky.
The only thing you can do is to set compatibility mode to win xp sp2 and then try different video settings to see if anything works better (if at all)
I don't really remember what options worked best for me, but after some trial and error it works on win7 x64 pretty nice. Not sure about win8

  8. The translation is dead. There hasn't been any updates since then and I'm sure we can finish this before that person can.

Well yeah, I figured out this much. In fact I don't even want that person to work on this VN. He have to finish Coμ already and start to work on Rewrite HF! ψ(`∇´)ψ

Edit: Actually by looking at the commit log, the person I was talking about wan't a translator but an editor. And translator noted somewhere that he is supposed to translate 1 script per day until its finished or he is dead... It is still not finished, so... へ(>_<へ)

  9. I'm not sure what confused you, but the first time you launch FSN - you're not supposed to have access to the menu. You read the prologue, watch the movie and only then see the menu for the 1st time. If it wasn't the same for you, your release does have some problems.

Also you shouldn't be able to see the prologue again if you saw it once, unless you go to the Extra menu and select it there.

  10. Can you explain more what do you mean by "restarting". If you see the main menu after that scene - this is how it is supposed to be.

Edit: unless I'm thinking about the wrong scene, when you see the image of Saber with a sword, after that should be 1st opening movie and then the main menu. Nothing more.

  11. So...I've installed LAV filters...but what is it meant to do? coz I'm still getting the same problem...

is there a way to delete the op movie or something?

oh and what do you mean by I can use some other media player? I thought IMHHW runs on ADV player. there is a way to change it?

Nothing really. This is just a thing that I'm sure isn't broken and is capable of decoding stuff properly.

As I said before, If you uninstalled all codec packs, then you'll have to find any other codecs that can cause the problem and remove them (possibly along with the software that installed them, like proprietary screen recorders, video editors, whatever). Just in case make sure that your directx is updated.

Deleting the movie might be possible but I don't remember in which archive it is located, without looking at it myself. And even if you do it, it still may crash cause the movie isn't there.

  12. By the way. Sometimes similar issues can be caused by windows updates. Some time ago KB2803821 update caused problems in many games and even if all codecs were ok, people were getting issues with the videos in games. I believe it was fixed since then so for a last resort option try running windows update. Still, clean install of the LAV filters is the most reliable solution for issues like this.

  13. Stop using CCCP. Use K-Lite. Normally this shouldn't be an issue, since codecs don't have anything to do with the game itself and a game can't force people to uninstall something, which is an integral part of a normally functioning system nowadays. Konosora seems to be seriously messed up. Unfortunately, I haven't played it yet, so I can't give any tips on how to deal with it yet, but I'll definately take a look into it.

Most of japanese devs are really bad with actually being able to use or program anything into their games and they are obsessively stubborn with remaining behind.

This is not true. First of all K-Lite isn't any better than CCCP. Though which one of them is less crap is debatable. I would probably vote for CCCP.

Secondly packs does have something to do with the game itself because they are used for playing back said opening.

As for the issue itself. AbsurdDream noted that someone recommended him to uninstall CCCP. That wasn't a bad advice, but it doesn't means that this is definitely CCCP's fault, but rather some of the codecs can be broken and cause this issue. That could be some other codecs that user himself installed, or codecs that were installed by some crappy proprietary software.

    AbsurdDream

In any case, if it crashes right before the opening, try to remove the codec pack you use (if any) and try it again. Or remove, reinstall it and then try again, or remove it completely and install latest stable LAVfilters (without any codecpacks this time). If nothing helps, you probably on your own with this, because most likely the issue is not with the VN itself but with your windows.

    P.S.

ADV player HD is not a "some media player program" that you should uninstall. That's the engine of the Konosora itself.

  14. What's the different between the two versions of the game? It looks like the covers are different, I personally prefer the blue one, but the other looks nice as well.

You mean original and charity edition? Except some one system file that helps to differentiate between the versions those tho are bit-identical. The difference, aside from the cover, is in where the profit goes.
  15. Well I found it, but I don't really remember who made it. It was sooo long ago that I was messing with FSN PS2. So not sure if he wants me to post it. Though I can send it to you in PM...

Edit: but AFAIR it takes mounted iso as input and searches for the files there... so perhaps it needs to be modified to work with something else.

  16. It was just a matter of time until someone will make a tweet like this. Same was with the restoration patch, and moenovel's answer was similar if not the same.
The question is, can they really do something to stop it? They can request to take down some blog or delete this thread. What a loss for the translation. It can't go on without these... no way... =(

  17. Sure but It's probably not the case. If this is due to different users or different folders of some sort - he probably would notice the issue right away. Cause not only progress will be affected but the actual separate savedata files will be missing depending on from which folder it was loaded. The first time savedata will be requested from some other folder, VN will act as a clean install.
But from what I understand he was reading it properly and supposedly used savedata. Just noticed the issue after opened CG gallery.

  18. Hmm... I wonder why would it do that... At least on win7 it places savedata in Documents\FAVORITE\星空のメモリア\save regardless of admining. Maybe this is some new and "awesome" win8 feature.

Edit: actually looking at the screenshot, TsumikiTheAmazing also runs win7. Maybe this can happen due to some broken registry entries then.
