  1. Plots that take too long to get started. Long visual novels that try to tell a good story but instead have a lot of filler and in the end wraps things too quickly.
  2. Clephas, even if a vn is too complex like the case with Bradyon Veda could you still do some kind of small mention of it? I am more interested in these kinds of stories no matter how hard they are to understand.
  3. Thank you man. I bow before your infinite wisdom. All the games look pretty awesome. To be honest I already had Bradyon Veda on my list, first it's from Akatsuki Works and then you also did a great review of it and now you recommend it here so that's 3 out of 3 I guess, lol. I have to get it. All the recommendations are awesome. Thanks.
  4. I have a few things I'm looking for. I don't care what level of Japanese these games are, it doesn't matter to me as long as in your opinion the story is good and fits the description. I prefer story focused visual novels over slice of life or romance but this doesn't mean I don't like something with highly charged emotional roller coaster ride. 1. Something epic in the style of Xenogears or Evangelion, a huge spanning epic tale with world or universe ending cataclysmic events. Can include religious and philosophical overtones but it's not required. 2. Mystery sci-fi with a plot full of twists and turns, info dumps, and maybe even some mind screw stuff. Think Ever17, Remember11, 12Riven and similar ones. (no need to mention I/O and Root Double as I know about them already.) 3. Something manly hotblooded over the top crazy. Think Gurren Lagann, mecha is not a must but there has to be this hotblooded feeling. 4. Finally some hilariously funny comedy. Something side splitting funny. I don't mind slapstick comedy either. Think in the style of Seto no Hanayome, Nagasarete Airantou, Yamato Nadeshiko (and pretty much anything directed by Nabeshin aka Shinichi Watanabe,) Baka to Test and similar tones. Let me know if you can up with anything that will fit into one of those categories. You can recommend as many as you want, not just one for each category. Thank you for all the help.
  5. For some reason I can't start the setup for Gun Knight Girl. It's not my first VN and I don't have problems with other Japanese visual novels. So anybody knows what's the deal with this game?
  6. No problem with them removing the h-scenes but this also means that root double will be shelved for the next two years while they are waiting for the pc port of the game.
  7. I think that's a good order of routes to play. I don't remember but I think mine was in the same order. I think it's better this way because it feels like the story starts slower and then escalates. Although it's been a long time since I played it but I wonder if it's better to experience Tsugumi's route before Sara's route or the other way around.
  8. I just finished ep15 and wanted to give me 2 cents of this. I read some of the manga and although the story started to get interesting to me it felt like another one of those mangas that tries to be hardcore edgy like Berserk or Gantz (really dislike Gantz). I stopped reading the manga and wasn't intersted in the anime at all. But I decided to give anime a shot. The first few episodes were boring and felt too slow, mostly because I already read those parts in the manga. After those parts I just became addicted to this anime. Seriously, I don't watch a lot of anime but this one really me hooked. Can't wait to see the rest of the show and I hope for season 2 to come soon.
  9. I was thinking of checking out the Tsukihime anime after I play the visual novel. Is the anime really bad?
  10. Kill La Kill was great. You just see it's the same team as Gurren Lagann! Though to honest I felt a little overwhelmed. It's like if Gurren Lagann made your brain explode from awesomeness but Kill La Kill will make your brain melt with its non-stop awesomeness, I felt like there wasn't a single moment to take a breath it just pounded on and on, lol. I've been waiting for this show for what seems like forever. The best way to describe the show is Sakigake!! Otokojuku combined with Gurren Lagann.
  11. This is the 2013 pc port of the x360 version of Phantom of Inferno by Nitroplus. I was wondering if anyone know where I can find the crack for it.
  12. there are the corpse party games and fate/extra available in english
  13. It's surprising to hear Monster Girl Quest being described as epic, I always thought it was just another nakuge. A lot of these games are well known, I guess they deserve the reputation. I'd like to add a few more visual novels: Ever17 - you should already know why and if you don't then go play it already. Remember11 - amazing, the only problem is that the story has no ending. Chaos;Head - predecessor to Steins;Gate that doesn't get the love it deserves. I did not play yet most of the other well known visual novels.
  14. Are there any Visual Novels that you guys think are simply epic? Let me explain what I mean by epic. An epic visual novel would be one that has a story that is so awesome and amazing with twist and turns that just blows your mind. It's all subjective of course.
  15. You know I had the same thought when I played Muv-Luv Extra.
  16. Do you actually select the scenarios each time you start a new game or do you switch to them based on your decisions during the game?
  17. I'd like to start Fate/Stay Night but there is something I'm confused about, can I play any route I want or do I have to unlock each route as I complete the previous ones?
  18. I think I solved the problem! It's a very simple solution. 1. Go start->Run 2. Type "dxdiag" 3. Go to Sound tab 4. Set the hardware sound acceleration to full. You can try the other levels but full will work the best.
  19. I'm sure it's because my computer is old but here's something strange. I played Steins;Gate, with the english patch it works fine but when I install the Japanese untranslated version I get this problem again. How is it that it works with the patch but not without it? Isn't it strange that applying the patch also fixes the audio problem?
  20. I have just checked the Umineko ps3 patch and I am having this problem with it too.
  21. yeah, it could be. I just don't know if my computer just can't run it correctly or is there some way to fix it.
  22. I don't have any specific example, it's just that I have tried some and they had this problem. I don't remember really which ones exactly had this problem, I just know that quite a few have this problem. It's like the game has a problem loading the audio files or something.
  23. In some games I have this strange problem where if a character speaks it does something like this, let's say a character wants to say "you are stupid" what I get is "yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-" until the line ends. Not all games have this but quite a few do have and it's annoying. Is there anything I can do to fix that? It's this kind of stuttering effect.
  24. One thing I don't understand is, is the English translation included in the ps3 patch?
