  1. Thanks for the help, i appreciate the suggestions and am going to try a few novels from that list.
  2. I've noticed there are a lot of really good looking light novels but a lot of them don't have English translations or are fan translated and not yet finished. I wanted to know if anyone has a recommendation of a light novel/graphic novel that has actually been published in English?. By published i obviously mean a physical copy in English that i can purchase .
  3. Welcome!, i'm pretty new myself but this community is really nice so you shouldn't have any troubles
  4. aww, that's pretty disappointing. He is refunding out of his own personal savings
  5. Love the signature! i will return in the future for a fresh one
  6. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/ i really like this website, i have seen figures on this site that i can never find anywhere else
  7. Well i do plan to both use the language for recreational and professional purposes so i kinda need to go to college and study the language fully so i can turn it into a profession.
  8. Anyone have any recommendations for books or maybe a website that teaches Japanese?, i'm aware of that Rosetta stone thing but i don't really know how good that is. Just something that i can study with by myself.
  9. It's good to see that there are so many others in a similar position to me, thanks for letting me know you're progress. Seeing as i enjoy the Japanese language so much i will probably begin to study the language at a somewhat amateur level for awhile and then try to turn it into my main allocated study in college like i discussed with Zalor. Thanks for the help!
  10. A lot of people are saying that i need the motivation or passion to learn the language, i love the language and have heard it spoken for a lot of my life (VN's, anime, music etc) and i have lots of reasons for learning the language both professional(work) and recreational(untranslated vn's, light novels etc) reasons, it is kind of hard to know if i'm making the right decision to dedicate myself so much to something that i really haven't put enough thought into. Perhaps i'm over thinking this a bit too much XD. Anyway i appreciate the extremely helpful responses towards something that may affect my life so greatly .
  11. You see i haven't even thought about college, i have no real idea what i even want as a profession but learning Japanese and maybe taking up a job in translation or something sounds more appealing to me then any other thoughts of work, i'm also aware that there is a shortage of Japanese to English translators at the moment so perhaps it is a better idea to focus on getting into a college that will allow me to take up a job like Japanese translation or something involving the Japanese language.
  12. It's nice to see people so encouraging on this forum, i told some of my friends that i was thinking of taking up Japanese and they told me that i was at fear of becoming a weeaboo.... real helpful XD
  13. I am currently in high school and am very interested in learning Japanese. I feel like if i don't start now i will regret it later, i fear i will be in my twenties and will think back and hate myself for not picking it up sooner. Is it a good idea to start now while i still have quite a bit of free time on my hands or should i be focusing on my studies (which aren't doing all that great right now) and start learning Japanese a little later on. Will i even be interested in learning the language later :/. Any input would be much appreciated
  14. I'm more excited for the winter 2015 anime, but there are a few really interesting looking titles in the spring charts. Regardless i'll probably end up watching all of them ;D
  15. As much as i would love to play the whole series, it would just take way too much time to get through all of it, i don't want to risk losing interest in the series because of how much time it is taking to complete the prequels. If alternate explains enough of the story to know what is going on then i'm happy with that. Unless of course more people can convince me that i NEED to play the whole series
  16. I see, much appreciated, i'll start reading that then
  17. Wouldn't i have to play muv love first before alternate?
  18. Wow, almost all of those look extremely unappealing haha, i appreciate it though. I have seen the Steins;Gate anime, would i still enjoy the VN or are they extremely similar?
