Thanks for the help, i appreciate the suggestions and am going to try a few novels from that list.

I've noticed there are a lot of really good looking light novels but a lot of them don't have English translations or are fan translated and not yet finished. I wanted to know if anyone has a recommendation of a light novel/graphic novel that has actually been published in English?. By published i obviously mean a physical copy in English that i can purchase .

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/ i really like this website, i have seen figures on this site that i can never find anywhere else

Well i do plan to both use the language for recreational and professional purposes so i kinda need to go to college and study the language fully so i can turn it into a profession.

Anyone have any recommendations for books or maybe a website that teaches Japanese?, i'm aware of that Rosetta stone thing but i don't really know how good that is. Just something that i can study with by myself.

It's good to see that there are so many others in a similar position to me, thanks for letting me know you're progress. Seeing as i enjoy the Japanese language so much i will probably begin to study the language at a somewhat amateur level for awhile and then try to turn it into my main allocated study in college like i discussed with Zalor. Thanks for the help!
