Visual Novel Translation Status (24/09/2023)

Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and seeing Shiravune decided to license Amazing Grace I figure that I'll make the parody of its opening song title, Cold Voice, by changing 'Voice' into 'Honey' with Honey is another song from the singer's another song (Also Koiiro Chuu Lips opening), so we have 'Cold Honey' as the title. Anyway as for this week, to be honest if not for Amazing Grace announcement it would be a plain one. Other than Amazing Grace announcement, we also have a fan suddenly released translation patch for old Alicesoft VN. Another thing to note is predictable Sharin delay from Frontwing, which in hindsight make sense if we see them put more focus on Ginka. Overall this week is mostly below average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.

Visual Arts is finally released Tsui no Stella, and the release date is today. Well if anything else at least it's nice to see finally Visual Arts released one of their announcements back in January even though it's a redundant release seeing that there's fan translation patch for it was released back in July, and now let's see if they can also released Lunaria in this year as well. Speaking of exact release date announcement, Ninetail also about to release Venus Blood Gaia Steam version today, and good for Venus Blood fans who prefer to just buy it on Steam. Speaking of Ninetail, it's too bad that JAST need to delay the release for Gears of Dragoon 2 because they need to deal with some leftover technical problem, but at least the delay is not too long with the new exact release date will be on October 20th later. Forgot to mention that finally Aniplex about to release Mahoyo on Steam, and for the exact release date it'll be on December 13th later (The link to the store).

Frontwing did predictable action with Sharin, namely they delayed it again because of some plug-in problem. I may as well say that it would be better for them to not give any more updates until all of their problem is over and they manage to set the Steam store. That said, it's not like most of the people desperate for Frontwing release anyway, because we already have the main game and its FD being fan translated (Granted that apparently the FD content outside main route is MTL-ed, although turned out that it's actually properly translated with the scripts being unedited). In my case though, I just want to see the finish line for Sharin KS, if only for the backers who trust Frontwing to deliver better translation compared to the available one. Speaking of deliver better translation, turned out Mikandi keep working on Libra retranslation off-screen, and recently they announced the Halloween release plan with them currently do the testing work.

Sekai did release nukige focused on little sister succubus, and I have nothing to say other than have fun if you've been waiting for it. Cherry Kiss also released their nukige, and it's about the wives who tried to be helpful to their debt-ridden husbands by working in a cafe that provide sexual service to the customers. Idea Factory announced the exact release for Bakarina VN, and it'll be on November 28th later, which I should remind that it's pure otome VN so obviously no GL routes for three Bakarina's friend.

For the aforementioned old Alicesoft VN, it's Only You Re-Cross in that it's the remake of the same old VN from 1996 with said remake is from 2001. The premise is about the MC who got the evil mark in his arm with the government hunt him out of fear. After he being beaten out and then saved by the fighter with tiger mask, he got the clue to protect the eight girls with the possibility that one of those girl might be his destined soulmate. Oh yes it also has PS2 version with the MC was voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru who is known to voiced cool characters in anime, although the one that was translated is PC version. For fan translation updates, we have Fate/Extra CCC is past 90% mark (2340 out of 2499 main scripts) edited and Kud Wafter 18+ version is at 45.9% translated.

Lastly, Shiravune announced Amazing Grace in which it's one of Cabbage Soft VN, and as we know they have contract with Sekai in regard of Amairo Chocolate. Granted that it's nothing new that developer can have two overseas publisher (And even Nekonyan can get Shinshou Noise which notably under DMM (Shiravune main company)), but seeing that Sekai seems to be focused on smaller Amairo Chocolate when it come to Cabbage Soft, I hope that Shiravune can also localize two other big Cabbage Soft title (Sakura no Kumo and Jewelry Heart). As for Amazing Grace, it's about the MC who find his beloved town burning on Christmas Eve only to be looped back to the start of Advent (The first Sunday of December, which in Amazing Grace it's December 2nd). From there it's up to the MC to prevent the fire in his town and find the cause of it. Amazing Grace is also has some discussion in regard of art, which may or may not like Sakura no Uta. Oh yes, Shiravune already have the release estimation, in which it's between October to December (Hopefully on December 2nd to be more fitting with the VN), and they already has the Steam store of it.
