I know I'm pretty jazzed about it. Anyway...Portal Stories: Mel is a free, community-made Portal 2 mod that bridges the gap between Portal 1 and Portal 2. It's free as long as you own Portal 2 on Steam, but you don't have to have Portal 2 installed to be able to play it. They are also giving away the soundtrack for free, so if you like it, be sure to snag it from the DLC section. Here's the link to their Steam page. And here's the official description: Portal Stories: Mel is a community made, free modification for Portal 2 based in the Portal universe. It tells the story of Mel, who meets a new personality core and faces an undiscovered threat to the Aperture facility. 1952, in the early years of Aperture: Science Innovators, Cave Johnson’s scientists experimented with whatever they wanted. Not everything worked as it should have though, but that wasn't going to get in the way of the progress of Science! Mel unfortunately took part in a faulty test called the Aperture: Science Innovators Short-Term Relaxation Vault, falling asleep for years. When she finally wakes, there is a fake Cave Johnson telling her she needs to escape the facility and a new device called the Aperture Handheld Portal Device, her mind races with questions. “Who is this imposter Cave Johnson?” “What happened to the facility and its staff?” "What happened to me?" It's not Portal 3, but at least it'll hold us over for a little while longer. My body is already assuming the party escort submission position. Zenophilious Posted June 26, 2015 Author Share Posted June 26, 2015 Well, that's good, it wouldn't be Portal unless you spend 30 minutes trying to figure something out, only to realize it was obvious and that you're a complete idiot I dunno when I'll be able to download it, since it's 4 GB and I can only download stuff that's bigger than 500 MB during the night or I get yelled at by my family for hogging all the bandwidth. Funyarinpa Posted June 26, 2015 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Well Portal 2 is far and away my favorite PC game so I was kinda stoked for this, and well from the one chamber I could complete in around an hour of testing, I can say that this is fun and challenging. Besides the Cave Johnson imitator using the "I pay the bills here" gag too much, no qualms with the story either. It's going to be fun...
