Koisu

Koi ga saku koro sakura doki might be up your alley. The common route has been fully translated and two heroine routes are expected to be released sometime this month. I found the common route enjoyable and its concepts refreshing (the artist was also involved in Mashiiro Symphony, so 10/10 for that). As for the heroine routes, you'll either enjoy them wholeheartedly or have a "da fuk" reaction.

Also agreeing on the recommendation for the Majikoi series. They're a lighthearted series with fighting elements that are so absurd it borderlines supernatural; although the agave routes for both series haven't been translated yet, the heroine routes along with the prologue routes have been translated. One of my favorite series of all time along with the Grisaia series (although the third installment of Grisaia was a bit lackluster : /).

Enjoy! Also, I'm thinking of contacting the current "translator" for Hatsukoi 1/1 to help translate that. It's a good novel with some flaws and plot-holes(some routes for the heroines were so disgustingly bad I had to stop midway), although there aren't any supernatural elements relevant. The art is extremely good, so I'd keep an eye out -- the determination of translation depends on how many units I'll be taking next year in regards to University work. "Decent" as it was, I can say I enjoyed reading it, which is why I want to translate it at some point. (=^･ω･^)y＝

Any fantasy visual novels or games that are like tears to tiara 2? I'm a big sucker for fantasy games/Vn. 
 
Also how does the first tears to tiara fair against the second one? I tried playing it, but the gameplay really wasn't my cup of tea so I just stalled it for a while.

Both of their art is around the same level and below average, imo.

I personally think sharin no kuni is kinda overrated, its story is only okay and the art is actually kinda bad. 
 
Konosora's translation is bad but the art is still pretty good and it's a good VN.
 
You should keep an eye on Koichoco and Tasogaredoki no Kyoukaisen which will *probably* have complete translation patches released before the end of the year. I'm fond of the art in both.

I hear ya. I kinda got spoiled by reading some of the more modern VNs that sport beautiful visuals with 720p HD widescreen goodness so I haven't actually been able to get into the mood to read the older legends like F/SN, Muv-Luv, Ever 17, etc etc  .

I will one day though, so veterans don't chew my eyeballs out please xD.

Yuzusoft in my opinion has some pretty nice artwork in their novels Dracu-Riot! and NobleWorks so you may wanna check those out, though keep in mind both of them are only partially translated. (Dracu Riot has common route + 1 heroines route (Elina) while NobleWorks has common route)

**Disclaimer: Do be very careful though. Yuzusoft actually changes character sprite expressions in real time to go with what the characters say (their expression changes throughout their lines rather than line after line), so after reading these novels, other VNs might feel a bit... static
