hoooooookay
personally I plan to do streaming of VN's myself (with other games, since I'm not too restrictive on *just* VN's, as I play a lot of other games - I think of it, that if I have enough people watching and bored enough to watch even when I switch to another game, they can have exposure to multiple genres. such as from SC2 -> VN's, or VN's to say... Speedrunning lol)
Several things:
~~~~~~~ in general streaming ~~~~~~~
- for twitch.tv, you can't do the 18+ types as those are actually considered pornography. (so find all-age versions)
~~~~~~~ about me streaming ~~~~~~~
- I can actually stream PSP versions which 99% of the time are all-ages anyways, although I can't write any programs to automate it (>_>) [uSB connection, custom firmware, remotejoylite)
- personally for me, I'm setting up my schedule once I actually get a day job ~_~ oh well
- on that note I also can stream PS2 but I don't have a modchip so w/e. but this is more personal stuff
- I personally don't want to give away what I plan to do as I haven't even started it, and need to get some other stuff settled in my life before I start doing it, so people can easily steal my ideas == which would be saddening )
~~~~~~~ for fuwa stream ~~~~~~~
- "I would like too. Would it be any VN of our choosing or would we vote on it in a group? I was thinking of doing a few VN lets plays on Youtube too."
> I would say if you want to make it a public one, have a poll on forum (and/or fb page for example), and play that.
"If there are any locals here who manage to set up a stream, yeah, I'm up for dropping by to hang out for a bit . Playing through a VN from start to finish is probably too much, though. Maybe a shorter game? If it's a VN I happen to like, I do enjoy hearing about what other people have to say about it."
> just install xsplit. easily. then again I have the paid version of it too, free version has lesser quality but oh well.
> honestly you don't need to do a VN all in one sitting either.
"Chatting During the StreamsI don't know a lot about this. Twitch.tv gives some chat options, but I don't think audio chat is one of them. There is always the fuwanovel IRC channel."
@ Twitch.tv chat channel: yes it sucks, use your rizon/whatever IRC channel if able, just point people there, maybe make an IRC bot that connects to the twitch.tv one to make people go to the correct one...
""If we really get the TS going and all, we should pick a non-H VN like little busters or clannad or something well known like that and make that official fuwanovel stream with us commenting over it and making it even more fun = thus bringing people that don't even know what VN is into the scene""
Like I said, yes, do a non-H VN. or if there's a VN with H scenes but not part of the story (e.g. say, I guess fsn? idk saa idk don't ask me, me noob with most vn's) then maybe just switch to another xsplit scene when you KNOW an H scene is coming, and note that.
"don't know how we would make the audio and video synced as we would also have the stream delayed - maybe if the person has really really fast internet he could make a presentation using teamviewer and we would join that and watch the VN instantly and comment on it in real time on the TS."
Skype, turn on connection from xsplit to skype, make it your cam, show the stream that, iirc at least
"ell tbh all it would require would be a pc capable of running LB, teamviewer, TS and streaming soft with good connection (id say 10mb up should be good, 20 would be better). There wouldn't have to be a person there, he would just set password for full control and who would want would use it and control the game. Or maybe little better remote desktop, I used to be able to "play" wow via remote desktop on 100mb lan connection."
while true, LB/vn's in particular don't exactly use too much memory, teamviewer/ts/skype don't exactly need too much, and then the stream, if you don't care about having 1080p with stupid amount of bitrate... lol no you don't need 10mb up
I have 4mb up and I only use 1mb when I stream sc2 for example (and sometimes with skype/etc), mirc, foobar2k, and random other programs at the same time.... so not really
as for the 2nd thing, the remote viewer, in that case, if it becomes big enough then either make a bot or something to auto press on options (autoit mouseclick or something) depending on viewer choice/poll (.poll start 3, 1/2/3 choice from irc members, end poll, bot automatically does it) assuming vn's don't really change where to click (which is usually consistant throughout the thing)... although that's a pain to program.
on another note you could just yes, make someone do remote desktop, which could work (but who would host it/etc)
"short vs long"
hmm
either ok, probably short if you want to keep it in one sitting, but it could be longer honestly, just use the save button
twitch.tv also saves the videos (for X days, forgot, probably like a month or more...) and then gets auto deleted, and you can export it to youtube.
also xsplit saves the videos on your computer, so you can reencode it from flv to mp4 and then upload it to another service (or clean it up and then upload to youtube)
"Video StreamingFuwanovel has a twitch.tv channel. We could invite contributors like InvertMouse, but host the regular sessions there. If we went with that option, we could upload the latest save game after every session so people could jump in and play along any time."
save file?
```````````````````````````````````
personally for a fuwa stream, I think a good idea would be to have like maybe 1-2 polls, one poll for which vn (winning vn gets taken off for awhile), and another poll for when to go live (and I can't do it at most times as I actually need to do work.. ``)
and then once you start streaming it, take input from the viewers (and other listeners on skype for example?) to decide which option to select (maybe commentary would be good too, but I don't know what you can talk about so /yawn)
*(xsplit or obs project which is ok, and free, fmle which sucks really bad, and ffsplit dunno)
