Having something on your resume doesn't actually give you anything. It gives you the possibility of giving you something in the future. And even said future can be nary attributed to one specific thing on your resume You get nothing for being a fan translator of japanese eroge. And that's why no one does it. Sorry to tell you this

And you certainly don't wanna put porn games on a resume. Before Patreon was a thing there were even less translations than there are now, so I don't know why you're making that argument. "For lots of people, this is a hobby" If that was true you'd see lots of people releasing translations. You don't, though. Because it's lots of work

^ What joke is on me? Translations are rare, and thread question being posed is why things are like that. Only weirdos do what you're describing. No sane person would spend months, often years of their life translating something for nothing in return

Because it's a lot of work for nothing in return. Pay me and I'll do whatever you want. Some people set up patreons and try to do what they want to do, but they often get their Paypal blocked and quit. Or they get zero patrons and so they have to translate a bunch of stuff for no pay just to build a reputation in order to get patrons, etc... And for what, like $100/month for a while optimistically?
