    Love that game.

As for me, *looks at avatar*

    Uh...

Alice takes a day trip to Helsinki, and discovers that cold trees are really rough. She takes home a branch of one. Baragon is not impressed and suffers as Alice remarks that "It was an ice trip. There's snow way I would go back, though." Turns out, the tree magically forces people to make puns.

  2. This is really something that would depend on the person. Personally, I consider VNs to be their own form of media which is very close to a book, maybe even one of those choose-your-own-adventure books, but is different enough to warrant a different name. Calling it a game would imply that there is much more of an interactive element, but given that it is computer software it seems rather difficult to separate it from the same category that "games" get lumped into.

I would probably call it a game in the same sense that I would call The Beginner's Guide a game. It has elements of games, but those elements only serve as a mechanism to tell the story, which is the payoff. Contrast this with a game like Antichamber, where the story is just a metaphor for the game being played and is only a part of the experience, with the rest being filled with the logic and puzzle-driven gameplay.

Better question: do you consider VNs porn?

...or we could go that route.

I haven't read all too many so far, but if I had to pick, it would be Hatsuyuki Sakura. It was a great reading experience and stands just barely above the others I've read.

And... that girl is too cute.

  4. Welcome welcome~

There's something to be said for exploring all of the options, but personally I like to try to make it through the route first and then go back through to find the other things, mostly because it's a bit easier to use the skip to get between choices faster. Though, I usually do save before things that seem like important choices if it seems like the story will branch or if there might be a dead end.

I also recall a lovely moment playing through the Fate route where I

    Spoiler

totally screwed up and didn't get enough Saber points and then was confused as hell for a moment when I got stabbed. It doesn't help that F/SN was my first VN so I was prone to such mistakes.

But I digress, welcome and enjoy your stay. :sachi:

Welcome to Fuwanovel, and my reply from your Japanese word would be 'Nice to meet you too'. If you need Japanese VN Recommendation, you could ask Clephas here, but maybe I could help some if you ask translated one. Anyway, since you state that you interested in translation, I think you could try to register your capability in the thread below. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Nice to meet you all as well! :sacchan:

Well, it's not so much that I'm interested in translation as that I'm on a project so I decided that making an account would be a good idea. But thanks for the suggestions!

Looks like someone really likes Hatsuyuki Sakura :pyaa:

Anyway, good to have you aboard! Hope to see you about \ :wafuu: /

I like it a fair amount, yes. Despite the emotional state it left me in, I found it to be enjoyable.

I'll be hanging out, thank you~

  7. Rime is a word referring to a kind of hoarfrost (see left) which leaves a layer of ice on everything. It also happens to be pronounced almost exactly like ライム (as in lime), which is another common theme in my usernames. I decided to go with the double meaning and thus came the name, which I particularly like due to how short it is. And also, ライムの突撃 sounds great.

  9. So, I'm Rime. I've been at least somewhat involved in anime for many years, but not too long ago I moved into the visual novel scene as well. I've been studying the language for... a while... and do some translation stuff.

    I've only read a few VNs, but I intend to steadily add more to my list and decided that it was about time to register here ;_;

Aside from that, I generally enjoy computer/gaming stuff and in particular, puzzles.

    よろしく and all that business.
