The thing that really pisses me off about Sekai (besides the constant kickstarters and lack of communication) is that they refuse to produce and sell hard copies after the kickstarter. I was considering funding GNK until they said it would be all ages only. If they released 18+ hard copies I would buy one from them for sure.

That's why they want to put their next 18+ title on indiegogo, and allow 18+ physical copies, if it'll reach 6 digits, we may have more 18+ kickstarters.

    EDIT

And finally I get what MG meant with the hints... had a problem with double, now I have not!

continuations and sequels certainly are in vogue these days, so you might want to keep your ears tuned for some spirited additions and some double trouble

    • continuations and sequels - both checked, the game have couple episodes, as well as a sequels/fandiscs!
    • ears tuned - highly suggest music title, checked!
    • spirited additions - well, there is some spirit action in this VN, am I right?
    • double - I was wondering for a bit what would it mean... just after hints were given out. I figured it out just now. Look at the title. You get it now? Yea, me too.                               Mono = Single, Poli = ?

And there we go: Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica

  2. Who will get 5*?

We have Billy the kid, The girl you see up and pink haired girl from OP (F* * * only Alex and Mona Lisa not released... DW want me to waste my precious gems...)

My bet is that Billy + pink haired girl will get 4*

    Oh, there's also a Lion ^.-

  3. They go kickstarter route, so they won't lose 5 digits on great VNs, they either will end up on 0 or on + so they can buy more licenses etc. If they would pay license for Root Double by themselves = 100k + they wouldn't have money for other titles, and would Root Double by sales earn 100+ k ^.- It probably should... SP just want to grow ASAP instead of releasing 5 titles a year or going full indie/doujin route. Yet, people still bash on them, because of kickstarters :makina:

I wonder what happened to Subarashiki Hibi.

You know, preparing the game for Steam is always quite a challenge. :makina:

Nah, honestly, everyone is probably waiting for AExpo with all the serious announcements. And how would Makura/KeroQ promote the game? They will probably include hardcopies, but who knows...

  5. @littleshogun Are you disappointed in what? I didn't believe his story, I think if you decide to do something, translating for example, and then announce it, finish it. Be it one year, be it two/three. If you're slow TL, you have lack of progress etc. doesn't matter, finish it even in 5 years.

The story of Ren is simple, fast progress, astro out of the ship in the early stages, then we hit 100% after a year~~ And boom, files are gone.

I wouldn't be as angry as I am at the man if he would tell the truth for whole time, or if he would just say "Sorry, I don't have power to finish this one, when astro said he wanted money, it was too much for me to handle" The scenario we're talking about is possible to happen, but the possibility of it is like 1/1000 ? Maybe even lesser. When people are deciding to do something big, they usually care about it, and protect it.

"All the files were only stored on Google Drive" <- Well, I think it's a common knowledge to have backups(make backups) In case when you delete them, and delete already deleted files once more, because, well, yeah, why not? What Ren should do is just: "The project never was 100% translated, I just had no heart to tell you guys" or some bullshit like this, instead of doing what he did.

I'm not disappointed, because of the game itself, I'm disappointed, because of Ren, and how people are announcing things/creating pages without delivering. Sure, they don't have to deliver anything, but when you commit to translating the game, then stay commited...

Imagine that people would create TL projects for Baldr Sky/Muramasa/Dies Irae/Ikusa Megami Zero/AkaGoei and all of them would hit 100% in a year or two, and then boom, data lost. I just don't like bullshit like this... It's not 2000 year, where PC and everything just started, it's 2016, data can be easily stored/recovered from X/XX different sources...

There was no evidences of any progress with translation, when numbers were jumping... For me, Ren can go away(you tried, you had 100% translated game, I think that's enough), I just don't want people to create projects/announce it/hype it/post progress every x weeks, and then saying the data is gone. If you want to do something like that, drop the idea before it will go too far.

This is probably the most entitled post I've ever seen. Fan TLs don't get paid; most have jobs or school or whatever else in life they have to deal with. Each project is taken up so that other people can enjoy the game the way the TLs do/did. I'm not sure if Ren is translating himself, but I gather he is, so he could just as easily read and enjoy the game and say to hell with everyone else who wants to read it.

As for accidentally deleting backups, trust me, it's a lot easier than you think. Astonishingly so.

If you don't like Ren or think he's a liar or whatever, translate the damn game yourself. Otherwise, shut up and wait.

I know it's free, I get it, I'm glad that some people are trying their hardest working for free, but when the guy is hyping his project, releasing updates, saying it's 100% translated etc. etc. and then it turns out to be a lie, some parts aren't translated, the guy is losing files or smthing, it's just rude to people I would actually prefer this gam to be never touched by anyone, no one would complain, no one would be sad, because of progress loss, release delayed by couple years etc. If your saying that you're translating something, and then going 100% and then saying some "things" without any proofs that the game won't be out in next X/XX months, I hate this kind of behaviour. You know how many people were hyped for it and waiting(I wasn't one of them tho)? When they heard announcement that the project was 100% they were jumping out of joy, what were they feeling after they heard it would take 8~~ months or so to dunno QC the script O.o? Now thye heard the progress was lost for al lthe routes, it was double deleted. It's better to not translate anything than to do things like this one. That's what I'm saying, and then you're doing shit like that, without any proofs that anything was even translated...

I admire people translating for free. I was doing so for a short period of time too. Hosting ALL the files on online storage only for years without ANY backups is just straight dumb. Double deleting them is even more dumb. If he's expecting people to not bash on him, well... I'm not exactly bashing on him, but I don't believe this story it's not creditable at all. I can create Baldr Sky project by myself, create nice wordpress page, hype the project, write updates telling people that it's being translated, hit 100% and tell people that I deleted the files on my drive. All this while not showing a single evidence of the single line of the game translated. Maybe the game is at 20% stage? or 10%? You don't know that. I just said the files were deleted. Would you like me to create such a project? I can do that if enough people would say so. People would be sad if they see some videos/screenshots and definitely won't say a bad thing about Ren, but without anything, and telling something like this after giving them hope, telling them the game is 100% etc.

Oh and I can think of better story: "I had all my translation files on portable HDD, I spilled the coffeee, everything went to shit! Sorry guys, can't help it. I'll translate everything from the start, wait a year or so."

TLDR; Provide evidences of steady progress to make you credible, and to make people trust/believe you, also backup your files on X different storages (online/HDD/portable drive) Game files being on only online storage for years = hard to believe.

  7. It was pretty funny, animation was a bit low quality at times, the same with voices, but overall I'm really happy that this short (10 ep) anime gets second season, yay!

Stupid animes FTW! Nah, nah, just kidding.

The Ko-No-Su-Ba every 2 minutes in every ep annoyed me a bit tho :P

  8. Quote

Best case scenario = "Hey, Aokana will be translated in a year or so!"

Good scenario = "Hey guys, we have a 8 months delay, the game will still be out!"

Bad/Neutral scenario = Aokana remains untranslated, nothing was announced

Worst case scenario(False hope scenario) = "Hey Aokana will be translated in a year or so! We have a 8 months delay, the game will still be out! I deleted all the files from google drive(the only source where translation was) and also deleted the already deleted files, sorry! But I'll still keep project going!"

We have not seen any screenshots/videos/proofs that anything was ever translated. Prove me wrong? If u wanted to keep people updated on the project, you could make 1-3 min vids showing small parts of translation? No one will believe that you "accidently" double deleted the files, lol. Google support ignored you? Nice.

Telling lies is bad, but covering lies with other lies is just... Have balls to say that the TL wasn't done or something. In case I'm wrong and somehow that shit happened, sorry. Would like to see some evidences that the translation was done. You could give us a sneak, you "decided" not to. Really let me tell you, hyping people up and then crushing this hype/hopes to nothing is way, way worse than leaving the game alone(not doing the translation)

I've seen u as a good guy, doing some contests with prizes, helping people around, buying things for people, selling some figures/VN stuff cheap. Now? Idk.

  9. What the fuck... Getting first message after a week? Cool.

I wanted another company to handle this localization... Not some shady guy from some shady JAPAN CONTENT b2g...

They decided to relaunch the pathetic english translated Kickstarter... If they won't fix their english(aka. do the tiers etc. with translators help) and won't promote the game, and won't communicate with people....

Let's try to give them a second chance, even if it's shady as f***, and their first impression is already really bad. If they fix almost everything, we'll see, if not, they can go to hell.
