Probably any kind of SoL type VNs that don't have a lot of fantasy type elements will work. Again I'm only speaking from what I've heard. But honestly, if you're looking for something easier than VN's, how about shounen (or shoujo) manga?? I think you'd enjoy it more than children's stories...
