Dangan Ronpa Chapter 5 Infinite Loadscreen using PPSSPP

Greetings,

Running 32bit Windows 7 with Japanese Locale.

I've encountered an issue that has been solved here before. I've followed all of the suggestions in that thread and, unfortunately, none of them have worked. I have tried 12 different versions of PPSSPP ranging from v0.8.1-664-gff225fa-windows-x86 to v0.8.1-1102-g3d7abf9-windows-x86 with the version I was originally playing on being v0.8.1-788-g1533b58-windows-x86. I was able to load my savestates on every version other than 1102, which resulted in a crash. Loading the savestates in other emulators had the same issue with the infinite load screen. In addition to this I've attempted to force a recheck on the ISO file, but the recheck option is greyed out, so I've yet to try this. I've altered the options for each emulator as I've tried them according to the thread linked above.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? If you need any further information, I'll reply ASAP. Any help is appreciated. Also, if anyone has savestates for the start of chapter 5 after they leave the cafeteria for the first time that I could try, that would be fantastic.

EDIT: It appears redownloading the game does not help.

EDIT2: Currently got it locked on Tab to see if this loadscreen really is infinite.

I'm not sure what the exact problem is but you could try PPSSPP version v0.8.1-642-g8f84907. I used this version of PPSSPP and had no problems with chapter 5 at all, you can still find it on http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/

Just make sure that when you are using this version that you have to do the following, otherwhise you can't examine the environment:

1) Look up FramebuffersToMem = False & FramebuffersCPUConvert = False in your ppsspp.ini file

2) Change the above mentioned things into FramebuffersToMem = True & FramebuffersCPUConvert = True and save the changes

3) Restart PPSSPP and try investigating again

And in chapter 6 before entering the Data Processing Room, turn HardwareTransfrom off by changing True into false in the PPSSPP.ini file -> HardwareTransform = False , when you are finished with that room, you can make it True again.

Unfortunately my save states do not work in this version, it just causes the emulator to crash. Do you have a save state handy at all that I could use?

I'm sorry, but I don't have the save files anymore. I kinda deleted them when I finished the game :unsure:/ I would also reccomend you to check http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=940&pid=36809#pid36809 if you want to continue with your current save files. It's a entire topic dedicated to possible Dagan Ronpa related problems on the PPSSPP. Perhaps the chapter 5 problem is also discussed there, although you might have to spit through the entire topic to find your solution :X

No worries! Thank you for your help. I'll read through the thread a bit later and report back on what I find, if anything.

EDIT: The problem is mentioned, but no solution is given. My best bet right now is to wait on someone who has a chapter 5 save state, I'm not too keen on going through everything again. w
