  1. The entire game deletes itself, primary folder and all. It even went after the save folder so he's gotten into the habit of backing up his saves every time he plays. But yeah, I'll definitely tell him to give adding it as an exception to his antivirus a go. I'll report back when we've seen whether that helps or not. Hrm, I'll tell him to do that as well. He doesn't know the first thing about torrents so it's possible he left it seeding. I'll report back when we've seen whether this helps or not.
  2. So just as the title suggests, my friend's computer keeps on deleting Katawa Shoujo at some random point after he's turned it off for the day. So far he's been getting around it by reinstalling it and placing his old saves into the new location, but it's getting tiresome, and as of today it actually deleted itself while he was playing it. I'm good with games and tech, but I've never experienced something like this, so I'm hoping you fine Fuwa folks will at least have an inkling of an idea for where we should start. Now for details that may matter, he's running this on Win7 home premium 32 bit, and he's tried the game download from both the game's site and torrents dozens up dozens of times. Thanks in advance for your input folks.
  3. So my friend finally expressed some interest in trying these visual novel things I'm always gushing over. I passes her my external drive full of the things and she settled on trying Grisaia (may have influenced that a bit). It installed fine and all of the functions (menu, etc) were working just as well. Immediately after meeting Yumiko for the first time the screen will go black, sound stops, and the game freezes making her have to forcefully shut the game down. And this happens in the same spot, every single time. We tried the usual fixes like system locale, updating video drivers, reinstalling, etc etc. Still happens. I tried installing it on my computer and everything works perfectly, so it's definitely something specific on her end. Now for some specific details that may matter- she's playing this on a mac and using Wine. Not sure if that actually limits down the problems or not, but I've seen the two mentioned a few times through google for the same problem. Anyways, any help you fine folks can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again in advance.
  4. Thanks for the input so far folks. While autism certainly isn't the same thing I feel that ignorant characters/people would treat it similar so I'll definitely go check Kataw Shoujo out. I've had it sitting on my computer for a while now, but I've knowingly done myself a disservice by putting it off for various 50+ hour VNs. I have a free slate now, so I'll start that one up later tonight!
  5. The title may be a bit vague, so let me explain... I just finished playing through Grisaia for the 3rd time and started thinking about how Michiru being stupid (while joked about at times) was a legitimate point of painful self-loathing for her. Again, while played for jokes it was still responsible for some development past and present. So I was just wondering if there are any other VNs with heroines out there whose lack of intelligence has significantly altered their lives/plays a role in their route? Translated VNs only please. My ability to read Japanese is currently laughable, at best.
  6. So after finishing this I went looking for some more translated kemonomimi works and the best thing I could come up with was Wanko to Kurasou. What do you folks think of that as a point to continue on after Neko Para? The screens certainly made it look cute enough anyways~
  7. I didn't have the laggy e-mote problem some folks brought up so I found it to be completely amazing. I cannot wait to see it used more as time goes on. As for the vn itself, that was a wonderful 5 or so hours spent. It was short and not as detailed as most of this type are wont to do, but I carried a nice, big smile the whole way through. The simple world and details they created around our lovely neko girls as a species was entertaining, and saying it was cute all throughout just doesn't do the game justice. Simply put, I had a lot of fun with this one... far more than I expected. Now for the important question - did Neko Works confirm whether a vol.2 is going to eventually be made? I'm unable to recall if something of the such was mentioned earlier~
  8. Great news indeed! I really wanted one or two of the dakis since the originals are so god-awfully rare, and the 18+ version is mandatory in my eyes. When we lost both of those I decided not to back the kickstarter (much to my lament). But this? This is a perfect storm. Once the details are finalized I'll return to backing the project for as much as I'm able Nanoyasa!
  9. A little late to the party, but I finally got around to getting this little gem of nekoneko goodness. So what have ye folks been averaging for completion times? I plan on going through this sometime later tonight or early in the morning so I figure I'd gauge what I'm in for.
