  1. Well, if it makes a difference I actually meant the Kotori XP thing or whatever it's called. Idk Kotori's was the only decent route in Da Capo, so I figured I would give the revamp of it a read. I think it's pretty much between Princess Evangile and Kara no Shoujo at this point. I've tried to forget that spoiler for 3 years, it just isn't happening Yeah, I think Kara no Shoujo is my next pick. The spoiler is unfortunate, but I do really want to move onto Kara no Shoujo 2 and 3 so I'm going to try for the 4th time to get through it lol Thanks for all the help everyone! After Kara no Shoujo and Kotori XP I'll give Princess Evangile a read since it got the 2nd most votes! Happy reading folks.
  2. Hello, I just recently finished Da Capo 1 and am ready to start on my next VN. I will be reading Innocent Finale and Da Capo 2 in the near future, but first I would like to read something else to cleanse my palate so to speak. The titles I am considering from my backlog are: 11 Eyes - I haven't read a good Chuuni in awhile and this looks pretty intriguing to me. Bazooka Cafe - I'm aware this is a nukige title, but for some reason I find it almost to be an icon of Vns. Probably because it was one of the first I read about when I discovered visual novels. Demon Master Chris/Desire Dungeon - Awhile ago I got really into Bunny Black and spent a lot of time working on a guide for it. I'm finally ready for another dungeon crawler, but can't decide between these 2. Kara no Shoujo - I absolutely adore the setting, style, and script for this VN. It might have become my favorite visual novel except that I stupidly stumbled into a spoiler on who the killer is and haven't been able to really get into it again since then. According to my saves I've started a new playthrough in November of every year for 3 years now... So I really should finish this so I can enjoy it and be able to advance to kara no Shoujo 2 spoiler free. Princess Evangile - I've heard pretty good things about this and I was interested enough to get it, but I've yet to actually start it. Hinatabokko - I've hardly heard anything about this VN, and the few things I have heard aren't particularly good. Still, it's been on my PC since I first got into VNs and I would like to finish it eventually. If anyone has any input on any of these titles I would greatly appreciate it!
  3. Hmm, I actually liked Miharu's route quite a bit
  4. Almost done with it now, took a break to sink 60 hours into Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance on PS4...... lol On to the two extra/secret routes. Sakura's route barely even made sense... Trying to figure out how to start Miharu route now. I must be doing something wrong.
  5. Ah I see. Either way I thought the Nemu end was kind of lame, too perfect of timing if that is the case. Only have Sakura, Miharu, and the secret route left now, so far I only enjoyed the Kotori route. The Nemu route was pretty decent until the last quarter of it. Hopefully there aren't any more lame endings like hers or Mako's. Anyways, I appreciate the fast answer!
  6. Just finished Nemu's route in Da Capo (1 obviously) and I don't really understand the ending. At the very end why
  7. I was able to go through the East and West forest areas. I go through the East area with Rance by himself, and the west with a full party consisting of Rance, Kaoru, Rocky, and Megadeath. I would say it's a mid game area maybe, as I started doing this when you unlock the Autumn Forest dungeon.
  8. If you go to the Nearby Forest dungeon and beeline for the adventure point pick ups you usually make 35 adventure points. If you do about 5 battles by just pressing M to auto encounter, you get 40 points within 5-10 minutes total.
  9. There are enemies you can encounter that appear as a dark mass on the screen, indicating that they are difficult enemies to fight. The only "fuck you" thing about these is that they might be ridiculously easy, or they might end with you dying before you have a chance to retreat. Best way to handle those is when you find one use your bonsai tree to leave the dungeon, save, and then return to the dungeon and head directly to it. If it's some stupidly strong encounter then you'll die without losing progress. I do this occasionally, but usually you can just risk it.
  10. Yes, I agree with that. I stopped doing long play sessions of it now and only play 1-2 hours a day because of the orb grinding tedium. On a side note, if you happen to save up three yellow orbs you can permanently increase Rance's SP by one. As far as I know you can only do it once, but still.
  11. Ah, thanks. I should have looked for news harder.
  12. I saw on VNDB that it was scheduled for release sometime this month. I am pretty sure I remember that, as I checked it a couple times. I just checked again since December is almost over, and now the release is back to TBA. Was it delayed, or am I remembering things wrong?
  13. I think I read that the event number stays at 5. It is really easy, especially if you use the 3 or 5 spin. I decided to leave it to the rng and only do normal spins no matter what, and when I get a game over I restart. It's more entertaining for me that way haha. Actually I was wrong. I looked up an original CG set because I was curious, and the ages are blacked out in the Japanese release as well. I guess Alicesoft thought it would be a funny gag to make it blatantly obvious they were underage lol
  14. Glad someone else is enjoying the game. 6 is definitely Superior in my opinion, though 5D isn't bad by any means. Feels more like a side game than a main entry. As far as the ages, I think you're probably right. Why they didn't just change the real age to say 18 or whatever is beyond me, as with it crossed out it makes it seem like they wanted us to think the girls were under 18 lol good catch, i hadn't really noticed that.
  15. Really surprised no one is talking about this yet. It was one of my most anticipated releases of the year as a fan of gameplay visual novels. Hopefully that's not indicative of the sales, as MangaGamer said in an interview that they want to release each game in the series in some form or another. They mentioned the remakes for the first 4 games specifically, but did say they wanted to release the whole series if possible. As far as the games themselves go, 5D seems a little below average to me, perhaps because it is such a weird system that takes some getting used to. VI is great though. I'm really enjoying my time with it and the dungeons are extremely well done in my opinion. At some point I'll start compiling a guide, working on a character evaluation for it as of right now. Anyone else buy this?
  16. Ah. I was thinking it would be like Steins;Gate where you could open the encyclopedia immediately when a new term comes up, without having to return to the main menu. Anyhow, thanks for clearing that up, it is a relief!
  17. Is it part of the gallery then? I haven't seen any signs of it yet.
  18. Would you mind if I asked, is there a cg gallery? Or did you notice any in-game dictionary/encyclopedia?
  19. Yeah I also assumed that the gallery would be unlocked after a route. I guess the real concern I wanted to raise is if there even is one? I agree that the encyclopedia would help with the lore a lot, but I just passed the OP video and still don't have access, and you're even further. Maybe it's part of the gallery or something. Ah well, thanks for the quick response and happy reading.
  20. Didn't want to make a thread for one simple question, so I'll post it here. On VNDB one of the tags is "Built-in-Encyclopedia", was this removed from the US release? Or am I not far enough in the game perhaps? I really like encyclopedia systems ala Steins:Gate, so it would be a shame if it was removed. On a side note, what are the requirements for unlocking the cg gallery?
  21. I barely ever post here, just kind of browse. I enjoy Jun Maeda's work, and I hope he gets better. I actually really like Key VNs. What I don't like is that this thread about a sick man has been derailed into a half assed flame war. There is no way that Maeda will ever see this thread, true, but show some respect for a respectable fellow human being. This is why I hate small, close knit communities like this. They just stew in their own juices until they become sour. Seriously, get over yourselves. Mad respect, Jun Maeda. You're a hard worker, and hopefully after a much deserved rest you'll be well enough to assess what's next for you. Best of wishes.
  22. Ah, apologies. True, I was hoping for the quality of NekoPara at least, but that's probably just a pipe dream. Eh, my hopes are kind of gone now, I got hyped without paying enough attention.... that's too bad.
  23. I noticed that Frontwing has an English site up, and talks about their Mai Nanaca designed games as well as Grisaia. Do you guys think this is a sign that they will be doing quicker English translations for their new games, or at the very least translating the Mai Nanaca games, since they are the only other games they mention on the English website?
  24. It also appears that in my ingame font list MS Gothic is listed as MS UI Gothic instead of MS ("gothic" spelled in katakana. my japanese keyboard is also having issues with windows 10 it seems) like it used to be. Edit: As you said, it should be related to font but I have MS Gothic installed, which should be the font I need. I tried to reinstall as well. I'm at a loss unless I need a different font for Windows 10. Edit 2: I just decided to switch back to WIndows 7 for now. Using a new OS in its infant stages isn't the best idea. The problem fixed itself when I switched back, so I suspect it has something to do with font compatibility with Windows 10 or something. Cheers, sorry for clogging the forum with this.
  25. So I was in the middle of my second playthrough of Kamidori Alchemy Meister when I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. Now all the sudden the text in Kamidori looks jacked up and letters are appearing at the end of skill names. Apparently one of my party members skills is now "Flurry qli". Also, my elemental resistances are now lower case instead of uppercase (I'm OCD ok? ) My font is still MS Gothic, and everything was working fine before the update. I also confirmed my locale is still in Japanese. I opened a few other VNs (Sengoku Rance, Kara No Shoujo, Cannonball) and everything on them is fine. Anyone have any idea what's going on, or is this one of those unanswerable too early to tell Windows 10 issues?
