    What is this?

Fighter/brawler mix(You get to have battles with upto 4 peeps at once) with some lite RPG elements in story mode I believe.

This has some more info on the story itself: http://www.ricedigital.co.uk/first-look-magical-battle-festa-prologue/

    Also has multiplayer.

    Does it have a translation?

No, though the official Facebook page mentioned an english version was in the works last August.

It's quite easy to pick up and play however.

    General controls(default scheme):

Z: Jump, press twice(quickly or in midair) to do a high speed dash in a particular direction. Pressing again while in a dash and while holding a different direction should allow you to do multiple dashes.

Also is the select/accept button in menus.

X: If standing still, will do a simple dodge after which you can quickly counterattack. Pressing X while holding a direction will execute a dodge/dash in said direction. Combine the latter with Z and (I think) arrow keys to dodge up/down and cover more distance.

Also the cancel/back button in menus.

Enter: When setting up a random match(Second option by going down once in main menu BTW), will progress to the next screen where you can select stages and what not. Press again to start the match~!

C: Your standard melee attack. Can chain multiple times. Hold C to do a more powerful attack.

V: Standard ranged attack. Hold for a more powerful attack.

NOTE: Pressing either C or V while moving towards your opponent from a fair distance does a lunging attack of some sort which stuns the opponent for a second. Also both C and V during a high speed dash will do a fairly powerful attack.

A: Overdrive mode. Only thing I know is that pressing A again in this mode executes a powerful Overdrive attack which uses up the entire gauge, don't know if there are any other effects.

S: Allows you to select different formations for your 'nodes'/support units. Basically, hold S,  then press NUM8/4/2/6 for a particular formation. Each formation has different advantages.

D: Holding D will allow you to guard. Note you can only guard frontal attacks, and your guard can break.

Q: Lock on to nearest enemy. Press again to switch. Note: Could be wrong, but AFAIK this will not automatically target your attacks, so be sure to face your enemy so as to land your hits or you will risk being wide open.

    W: Cancel lock on.

NUM5: Apparently does something called a Chaindrive Mode. Not sure how it helps, though I believe combining Overdrive and Chaindrive one after another *should* activate Ultimate mode, after which one of the buttons should allow you to use the characters ultimate.

Arrow keys: Movement in both menu and battle. Note that some formations affect movement style and speed.

    Where do I get this?

    Refer here: http://fly-system.net/product/mbf/

    Also: https://www.facebook.com/mbf.ion

Apparently you can order it here if you are not in Japan: http://ec.akgb.jp/category/select/cid/455/bid/307/pid/13619

    Otherwise, go here: http://doujinstyle.com/?p=7934

Requires 7-Zip to extract the ISO, then a mounting tool to...well, mount the ISO. You will be done after a simple installation process.

A little note, maybe it's just my system, but it seems to work fine even if the locale is not set to Japan.

So, anyone here playing this? :V Just started today, and it's pretty fun~

  2. Started Hunter X Hunter, barely remember anything from the manga which makes this all the more amazing.

Also watching Gundam Build Fighters which is awesome and may or may not cause me to go bankrupt when I go on my eventual buying spree~

    Finally, watching Outbreak Company because...IDK.

  3. Then i won't hold back with some of my favorites.

Don't know which you have seen though so don't blame me if you have

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (and sequels) (Quite the horror, a lot of mystery, a great series overall) IIRC the VN has more content, might get that instead

Another (Gets a bit gorey, still a great mystery)

Elfen Lied (Gore warning, dramatic as hell)

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (Action, Drama, and hell it was produced by Shaft so you should watch it if you like bakemonogatari) Watched, so fucking amazing <3

Sora no Otoshimono (A bit ecchi, comedy, some degree of action, but mostly comedy)

Mirai Nikki (Mystery, Thriller, a bit of violence, YANDERES~) Finished the manga, may get the anime not sure

Kokoro Connect (Mystery and supernatural, pretty interesting but not over the top) First I am hearing of this, thanks!

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? (Action and fantasy on a whole nother level, you know something's up when a zombie crossdresser with a chainsaw is killing monsters) ...welp, getting it.

Seto no Hanayome (I forgot to list this one above, albeit the romance it's one of the most hilarious anime i've watched)

SKET Dance (Again one of hte most hilarious i've seen, on pair with Gintama)

Steins;Gate (If you haven't seen, shameeee) B-But I wanna read the VN first D:

Toaru Majutsu no Index (Shame on you if you haven't seen) is it ok if i have only watched the first season ;-; Will get the rest soon~

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun  (Again, shame)

Comments in bold. Will look into the rest as well, thanks!

    Feel free to recommend more~

Also Gundam Build Fighters is fucking awesome, if there are any other shows like Gundam Build Fighters specifically, do recommend :3

  4. I second not only Bakemonogatari but the entire Monogatari Series, it's a masterpiece.

If you want a good Mystery/Sci-fi i highly recommend Shinsekai Yori, one of the best sci-fi anime i've seen.

For mystery/detective Gosick seems like the way to go

    Action/Sci-fi/Mystery Darker Than Black

If you want really good comedies, Nichijou, Danshi Koukosei no Nichijou and Gintama fit the bill neatly.

I was going to list more mystery ones but they're more into the horror and violent side and since you didn't list horror i left those out

Yeah, getting back into the 'gatari's, god I forgot just how fucking awesome this was <3

Gosick...hmm, I heard a while back it wasn't that good but now I would actually like to try it out myself, so gonna look into that.

Already watched Darker than Black, SEASON 3 WHERE :<

Goddarnit I keep forgetting NIchijou everytime :C. also gonna get Gintama

Already getting Shinsekai, UTW = Best Reality Marble~

About the genre thing, don't be restricted by that, I would love ones fitting any of those bills, but ones outside are good as well~(Mentioned in the OP as well <3)

Also looked up some random stuff and getting the following:

    Gundam Build Fighters

    Valvrave

    Phi Brain

Hunter X Hunter(Actually read the manga a while back, was highly intriguing so this was obvious)

    Suisei no Gargantia

BlazBlue - If Under Heaven Destruction is not in this I am dropping it

    Outbreak Company

  5. So I haven't really been paying much o any attention to anime for the past year or so, so I just want some recommendations, hopefully some that aired any time between the last half of 2012 and till now. Movies are fine too, CG or otherwise.

For now, I am just looking for recommendations that fit the following(or any one or two) of the criteria:

Sci-Fi/Fantasy(Can be both at once BTW, modern age is cool too), Action, Comedy, Mystery/Detective

These are the main ones, other than that, mix and match(or add) as you please, I am fine with anything! Good story can even be secondary, if it has good action or comedy and is just plain fun to watch~

    Shoot~! :3

  6. Got back into Skyrim due to Duel Combat Realisem/Frostfall/Deadly Dragons/Dragon Combat Overhaul and various other mods, GOOD GOD I LOVE THIS GAME D:

Also playing Naruto UNS3(PC, with keyboard. Yes, that actually works.) and waiting for Durante and other modders to finish their magic ritual to make Deadly Premonition playable on PC.

May or may not get into Neverwinter Nights 2 soon, and playing some LEGO Marvel Superheroes here and there.

    EDIT:
ohgod what happened to my avatar where did it go i don't understand whats going on D:

  7. I keep trying to do so, but I usually get stuck in just writing out concepts and world-building, that and English isn't my first language so that puts some hurdles, also procrastination of course >3>

Biggest issue for me though comes in the form of dialogue, I am absolutely TERRIBLE at writing dialogue(which I guess is because I am not the most social dude out there, and have no idea how to write believable dialogue hurr).

The only other thing I can think of is that I tend to make the scale of any stories/world I write about really large, though I just finally came up with a new concept recently which isn't too massive and something I think I can potentially actually start writing and finish...for once :V

  8. Replaying DmC , any recommendation? getting bored.

  9. GREENLIGHT LINK

It’s finally happening – the award-winning cult sensation Deadly Premonition is coming to PC in an enhanced Director’s Cut package!

Playing as special agent Francis York Morgan (call him York – everyone else does), it’s your job to investigate the brutal murder of a young local beauty in the town of Greenvale. Amidst the backdrop of soaring mountains and a small American suburb, York must solve the mystery of the Red Seed Murders and stay alive in a place where supernatural creatures and a mysterious raincoat-clad, axe-wielding killer seek to end his investigation for good.

Part suspense-filled horror, part action-adventure game, Deadly Premonition offers an open-world experience packed with locals to meet and places to discover, as well as numerous side quests and mini-games that will help you solve the murders and uncover Greenvale’s deepest, darkest secrets.

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut on PC includes new features over and above the original game, plus additional content not seen in the PS3 Director's Cut release:

A surprising new scenario from the game’s director, Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro

Enhanced HD graphics with new textures

Reworked control system allowing for an even better combat experience

Downloadable content to expand the mystery beyond the original game

New bonus DLC exclusive to the PC version!

And exclusive to the Steam version, earn achievements and collect Steam Trading Cards – complete the whole set before the Raincoat Killer gets you!

    This came out of nowhere.

    ...

    I WANT IT NOW D:

  10. So if you guys are still accepting V:

Two mysteries I wrote in like 10 minutes, not really expanded upon.

Think they can fit with the type of VN you guys are planning? :V

    Mystery 1

    Type: Identity Theft(?)

Concept: For the last couple of days(can change) a student known to always be absent on certain days due to illness/doctor check-ups has been showing up on said days, apparently healthy...and a bit insane.

She was originally popular, but her image has been changing since this started.

    Possible truth's:

    1. A jealous classmate who looks similar and then uses plastic surgery to change her looks to imitate the other, hoping to devastate the other's image.

    2. Multiple personalities, depending on the illness for the student.

    Mystery 2

Type: Unexplainable-Stuff-Happens-Everyday(Or a particular day and time, up to you!)

    Concept:

Everyday(or whatever you choose) random things happen at school, usually hilarious or sometimes creepy and terrifying, and quite big in scope. No one knows how, or who does it.

    Possible truth:

A group of students, not popular(do not need to be unpopular either) have formed a secret club, where they plan to do something random every day.

Their reasoning can be anything, possible reason - They wish to let their fellow students experience something new and unexpected every day and look forward to school everyday, or to just screw with their brains and wonder what the hell is happening.

Ending to mystery could be chosen as well, you could keep it a secret, or blow it wide open...or make a random happening out of it idk.

  11. After this one I hope they'll stop milking the Fate license for a while and come back to Tsukihime <3 (Once Remake is out...)

    YES

    YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES

ALL OF MY YESES AND ALL VARIANTS OF MY YESES

Speaking of which, I need to replay that, barely remember anything when it comes to the main details...though I might just wait for the remake >3>

  12. Basically, I have a pile(Not nearly as large as the title makes it seem) of VN's(and tons of other stuff) I have yet to complete, some of them I have already read but want to re-read because I barely remember anything from them.
