  1. Wasn't there a Persona 3 Golden version that allowed players to also play as a female character?

    I like the idea of Persona 4 Golden I just don't like that it is only on the Vita. I would love to see it on the PS2 as well or the PS3.

    There are three versions of Persona 3.

    The original Persona 3, then Persona 3 FES, which is the definitive version as it contains the Answer which ends the storyline perfectly.

    Finally, there's Persona 3 Portable, which has the aforementioned female character with her own social links, but does not have the Answer, making it inferior storywise.

    If one wanted the complete experience, FES would be the way to go~

  2. Doh! really? well dont I feel foolish lol.

    Ill have to look for it, I really liked the anime!

    Some info:

    There's a new version of Persona 4 coming for the Playstation Vita, called Persona 4 the Golden, it contains added features like new epilogues and more social links, so if its at all possible, get that version over the original PS2 one.

  3. @okami

    Kingdom Hearts is definitely a JRPG. Its kind of a love it or hate it series, you won't truly know until you try it, at least from my experience. Personally I use it as a way to pass time mostly, it doesn't engage my that much >>;

    Also, Last Remnant on PC is excellent compared to its console counterpart, which is way too buggy. Give it a go sometime, might end up liking it~

    @Electro

    They just posted this news very recently: http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/a-contract-signed

    Its a JRPG which was already localized in its home console guise, should be interesting to see which title it is!

    Personally, I am just hoping that its a good enough title and it succeeds(To a sufficient degree, if not on the level of AAA titles), if it does, more companies would be open to bringing their JRPG's to PC, right?

    Hopefully its not just me being naive or something >>;

    @SKW(Hope you don't mind me shortening your name >3>~)

    I knew about the Ys games, had no clue about the rest, holy crap. Thanks for the info! Gonna look into these <3

    @Ryoji

    The entire Shin Megami Tensei franchise(Persona included) is really amazing! If you get the chance, play one of their games, such as Devil Survivor, Strange Journey, Nocturne, Devil Summoner...I could go on haha.

    They are worth a try, though some of them take quite a bit of time to really get going and pull you in.

    Posting this link once more(Already there in one of the above replies): http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/a-contract-signed

    Let the speculations begin!

  4. that's nothing compared to my backlog, believe me. but yeah, I am now going through tenshin ranman while it's getting translated.

    That...that's gotta be one hell of a backlog. Holy crap @@;

    Also, I know this is quite off-topic, but I am not too sure whether it deserves its own topic hence why I am asking here:

    Should I watch the anime for Steins;Gate first before reading the visual novel, or will the experience be better if I read the VN first?

  5. Avengers was downright amazing! Hands down the best superhero film I have watched. Watched it thrice, once in 2D, once in 3D, once in blu-ray 3D at home >3>~ Each time was worth it!

    Sadly, I wasn't able to watch Dark Knight Rises, planning to get the blu-ray for it, hopefully its worth it D:

    ...well, other than that, I am sad to say I haven't watched any other movies this year, open to getting more blu-ray's though, got any recommendations?

  6. Haven't actually begun them yet, but I will be playing these while in India this Nov/December(Also, will probably not be active then. Sorry!):

    Togainu no Chi

    Eien no Aselia(Got it via Nyaatorrents since I couldn't find it here. Going to redownload from here once it does appear, if this site's version seems better)

    Sengoku Rance

    Hakuouki

    Phenomeno

    Hatoful Boyfriend

    Kamidori Alchemy Meister

    Hoshizora no Memoria

    Katawa Shoujo (Read a bit of the opening, like it enough to want to complete the entire thing~)

    Analogue - A Hate Story (Digital and Don't Take it Personally were brilliant, so this one is obvious~)

    Also going to re-read the following:

    Tsukihime (Been itching to re-read the entire thing. So amazing, despite the bad art, at least by today's standards.)

    Fate/Stay Night (Mainly because I noticed I have yet to get the Realta Nua True end and UBW Good end. Shame on me ;O; )

    Kagetsu Tohya (Quite a few things I missed out the first time I read this, so yeah~)

    G Senjou no Maou (Technically, more like finishing. Missed a few routes.)

    ....Holy shit, I didn't realize I had this much to read. Not sure if looking forward to it or if overwhelmed haha.

  7. Wow, that's pretty amazing! Its not even a month and this site already looks and is this kickass! (IMHO)

    You guys have done an awesome job on this, seriously!

    Thank you for welcoming me!

    Also, since this is just an intro topic, I should probably not post too much here haha. Kind of makes it seem like I am seeking attention or something.

    Once again, thank you for welcoming me everyone! This is a great site, and hopefully I will be here for a long time, maybe enough to see its goal come to life <3

  8. @Moekou

    Hyped as hell for SMT4! Though I am also a bit concerned, since Kaneko is not involved. Also not liking Raphael's redesign much.

    @harry_kinomoto/TheWingless

    Thanks for answering my question! Clears it up quite a bit :3

    As for how I got into Japanese stuff, IIRC it was due to watching Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z(Which I still like, though mainly due to nostalgia these days) when really young.

    Since then I have been interested in trying out more Japanese media, whether games or anime, and got the chance to really do so(As in, on a bigger scale than before) once I was 15.

    Currently 18.

    Thanks for welcoming me!

    Glad I joined this site, I am a member on a few others as well, but none have been as friendly as this has been(And I don't mean towards me specifically. Just the attitude of the whole site in general!), which is really refreshing for me!

  9. Just got the game via this site. I tried running it normally, but it refuses to run unless I have the image mounted.

    Is there a no CD crack or something available? I tried checking within the image, but its not there, at least not as far as I can see <<; While its not a huge issue, it would certainly be more convenient to have a no CD crack :V

  10. Just a general topic to talk about any JRPG's available, or coming to PC/Steam.

    Of those you may have played, do you have any favorites? My personal favorites so far include Ys Origins, and the Last Remnant.

    By the way, thought I would mention this in case you people don't know, but Ghostlight, a European publisher known for bringing over various SMT titles, is planning on bringing over JRPG's to PC.

    This is a recent blog where they say that they will announce their first title soon: http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/psn-store-news#comments

    The part of the blog which mentions this:

    "Some of you might also remember that we mentioned in an earlier blog about bringing some JRPG’s to PC/Steam. It was certainly a popular idea :). Well don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about it and I’ve just heard that we will be announcing our first game very soon. That doesn’t mean you can’t suggest titles for us to look into though as we’re still looking for more games to bring to the PC :)."

    Being a SMT/JRPG fan, can't, freaking, WAIT. I hope to god they succeed, having more JRPG's on PC would be excellent!

  11. Been meaning to try out a few otome/yaoi games for a while, the genre(otome/yaoi and shoujo-ai/yuri) interests me quite a bit!

    So um, yeah. Hope you don't mind, but uh, I would like some recommendations as well.

    These are the ones I have my eye on at the moment:

    Togainu no Chi

    Hakuouki

    Hatoful Boyfriend

    My only requirement would be a good story, hopefully more action/mystery/supernatural/mild horror oriented than romance.

  12. I am not highly familiar with VN's yet, er, at least probably not on the level of some other people, but the ones I am looking forward to would be:

    Fate/Hollow Ataraxia and Witch on the Holy Night(I am a Type-Moon fanboy so yeah >3>~)

    Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai!(Sounds hilarious and awesome~)

    Baldr Sky(Sounds intriguing to me)

    Narcissu PSP...actually I am not sure about this one. I heard it was already translated, but I haven't been able to find said translation.

    11eyes

    And that's about all I can remember at the moment.

  13. Should be easy to guess the reference in the topic title dohohoho~ And if it isn't, it should make itself obvious(I think) once you finish reading my introduction :3

    Hello! Nice to meet you peeps.

    I am a fan of both Japanese and Western material.

    Favorites include:

    Japanese - Anything by Type-Moon and any Shin Megami Tensei title, I am a total fanboy for both.

    Other favorites include the Ys series(THAT MUSIC OMG)

    The Metal Gear series(Only played a few so far)

    The Last Remnant(I guess I am one of the few fans of this title, welp. Haven't completed yet though)

    The Zelda series

    Rune Factory(3 and above. Not a fan of the first two sadly...)

    BlazBlue(I suck at this series, still like it for Trollzama)

    Durarara/Baccano!(Anime and light novels)

    ...well, I won't list more, not gonna list anime either. Don't want to turn this into an even bigger post than it is already herp.

    Western -

    Mass Effect(Still a fun series despite that end.)

    Witcher

    Half-Life

    GORDON FREEMAN SAVED MY LIIIIIIFE:

    Portal

    Alan Wake

    Elder Scrolls

    Dishonored

    Sleeping Dogs

    L.A. Noire

    Game of Thrones(Books and show)

    ...and I will stop there. Again, quite a few more I like :V

    ----

    And uh, well, that's it I guess. One thing I should mention is that English is not my first language, if you spot any huge errors, please tell me so, so I can learn from said mistakes.

    Came here due to the visual novels, and joined on the offchance that I run into any problems regarding VN's, hopefully I get help and you peeps don't mind that too much >>;

    I will try to be active of course, as this seems to be a fun community, and I know of no other visual novel sites like these, so yeah.

    Which brings me to the question I want to end this post with, its just due to curiosity, if possible, I hope you can answer:

    When was this community/site founded? I had literally not heard of it until yesterday! Came across it while looking for some visual novels.

    Are you merely providing visual novels, or will you perhaps do some stuff in the future to help spread visual novels? Not sure what exactly, just a general question.

    Anyways, hope to have fun here with y'all!
