I'm glad that you enjoyed my piece on Saya no Uta! ^_^ Also, sorry for responding a bit late, Finals have been killing me. As for my Narcissu one, here is the link: https://fuwanovel.net/2015/01/narcissu-and-death/

The post is a bit old and it seems I need to update the pictures I used in the post.

Hi Zalor! I'm sorry for replying late myself. Thank you for the link (pictures are missing indeed, by the way)! I'll make sure to fill my pipe (Arrr... not promoting smoking or anything) and enjoy the article as soon I take a break from KS. In the meantime, best of luck with your finals!

Incidentally, I was looking through Kickstarter yesterday and noticed this title. It looks really interesting, and I think it is a Visual Novel that many Fuwan's may end up endorsing. Certainly I will. Thanks for working on an Original English Language visual novel that has genuine heart in it and isn't just a cash grab! It looks really good!

Thank you for your kind words, Zalor! I promise we won't let you down.

PS: I haven't played Saya no Uta (I wanted to - after having read review on Kotaku which said something like "Lovecraft would be proud", and I'm a big fan), but I read your analysis with great pleasure today. It was useful, too - the way perception affects empathy/sympahy is one of Minotaur's main themes. Although we're going with more of a Frankensteinian angle... morals of society and whatnot :D

By the way, the second link (to Narcissu) doesn't seem to be working for me. Maybe it's broken?

  3. Hi everyone! We're a u7committee — a small team of people from different parts of the world with backgrounds in gaming and video industry. We'd like to announce our Kickstarter project on Fuwanovel. It's called Minotaur, and it's a crossover between visual novel and point and click adventure/puzzle game. Zero escape and Danganronpa series are, of course, a big inspiration (the other side being LucasArts classics... And The Neverhood. Did anyone play The Neverhood?)

Please take a look at our Kickstarter trailer. It's pretty short, but it tells a lot about the game:

If you like the trailer, you can actually give the game a try. We have a one hour playable demo (which has a complete voice over from some great actors, by the way) for Windows PC and Mac available. You can download it from:

    Game Jolt | itch.io | IndieDB | Our website

Remember: that's VN/adventure game — you'll need to solve puzzles, use inventory etc. But if you don't like that part (or get stuck doing it), jsut use this spoiler-free walkthrough that we wrote.

We'd be happy to hear your feedback about the game. And if you liked it, you can check out our Kickstarter page and consider supporting Minotaur (at the moment of writing this, we're nearing €20K of our €30K goal):

A couple of words about the game...

    Image

Minotaur is a sci-fi murder mystery set in the world we've spent two years creating. The game is now 50% done, and we expect to release at the end of this year.

(If you're interested, you can read more about it here.)

The game is split into five routes and features nine characters. The cast is pretty diverse... there's even a penguin (no EVA reference, I swear):

These poor creatures wake up to find themselves trapped in their own apartment building, and (naturally) try to get out, struggling to understand what had happened in the process. More often than not, they die.

Graphics are a mix of hand-drawn artwork and 3D modelling. Here are some screenshots from the game:

And that's that... I hope that you give Minotaur a try. If you happen to have any questions or feedback, let me know and I'll be there.

Cheers and thanks for your time!

    Nick

PS: I just can't not say it... Fuwanovel UI is really sexy. And the editor is one of the best I've seen. Writing this post was a pleasure!
