    Would people actually buy LN ebooks from amazon?

    Its just a night time delusion I keep toying with. Thinking it would be cool to be able to make a tl company. Physical seemed like it would be a pretty big leap so I thought ebooks might be a start. I am thinking this would work better for a book that has yet to see fan translations. 

    I feel your pain about ebooks needing to be cheaper. Half seems a little far though. maybe closer to 3/4 seems fair to me.

    I would also not do manga on the kindle.

    Is Minatosoft making more majikoi?

    Dammit too many things to address in one response...

    Is Anekouji out yet?

    I would Love there to be more majikoi but must admit that it is on its last leg. There is not more to tell that has not been told. Particularly after the original. They all had perfect endings. S circumvented this by adding new leads but you cant really keep that up for a whole new game. I look forward to A5 and mourn the death of my favorite series. 

    I want Minato to make new games though. I was not in love with Jun'ai and did not finish it due to massive spoilers ruining it for me but I did like the game. I got far and it was fun. Many of the scenes were hilarious and I liked the setup.

    Majikoi with new characters is pointless. It would not be majikoi at all. It would be a knock off with the same setting.

    I dont hate the pairing of MoroxMiyako but would rage over it because there is no possible way to write in a universe in which Shiina leaves Yamato and have it still make any sense.

    I hope not to see too many crossover references in the future. I would cry every time they brought up Tatsu. Please let there only be minor characters like Ageha and cookie.

    I know most people hate me for it but I would love to see a route for Haguro. I want to see her get rid of her makeup and go full dere. You know like she was not actually ugly like that but just wearing makeup (Its a real thing in japan btw).

    You do know that Sekai Project hired the same team that already did the fan translation, right?

    Imo the quality of the translation hasn't changed one bit, and is still what I'd expect of koestl, absolutely amazing.

    I may not have been clear. I have yet to read their translation. I actually meant to ask how it is in comparison to the fan tl. I was not bashing. I was just anxious that the new may not hold up against the old. I am glad to hear it does. I did not know they are using the same team. That is really cool.

    This has been far more constructive than I anticipated. I particularly loved the link to the actual prices. I wonder how the cost of manga or a light novel stack up to those of anime. I would imagine a novel to be much cheaper.

    I was laying there waiting to sleep and this question popped into my head. It seemed too interesting not to think about. Its actually surprisingly realistic. (Not that I even know enough to tl at the moment. Barely at manga reading level.) I liked the concept of leveling up. Starting from something like a web novel to get some experience then getting up to the big boys. Seems cool.

    *MASSIVE DISCLAIMER* I was just curious this is not super serious advice. I in no way plan to make this happen. I was just wondering what it would entail IF I did want to.


    I was wondering how hard it would be to officially start to translate a series from jp to English with permission from the copyright owners. And more importantly, how would you even go about getting this permission. How much would it cost to buy the rights for a series in a country like the US? For something like Ben-to or Hagure Yuusha that are not massively popular?

    I just got out of high school myself. I have never heard anyone say "My B". My friends and I rarely use slang outside of references or jokes. It is really jarring to hear for me. That said. I dont have a problem with slang. I'm just saying that it might not be as smooth as it could be here. It should be everyday type speech not internet lingo (unless it happens to actually be internet lingo). I say we keep VNs as accurate as possible. Would Yamato actually say MY B? After reading almost the whole series I just cannot picture him saying it. Now would that one girl? (You know the one) YES! She practically already does. She ends all of her freakin' sentences with "kei". Yamato just does not seem like to type to break out into slang like that. Casual yes. Though I feel that this could easily turn into a slang vs no slang thread for a few pages.

    He uses a slang term for "I'm sorry," which is what "My b" is.

    ...A lot of the complaints I've been hearing is about the use of slang, which seems strange to me. Like, when you're chatting with your friends, do you speak in perfect literary English (or whatever your native tongue is)? The idea of doing so strikes me as bizarre.

    But I dunno. If people are that bothered by it, it can certainly be toned down.
