But the problem is some VN:s do a really bad job presenting them. It gives me some kind of excitement when characters go yan over you that just makes you love them. Lately I have been starting to listen to yandere no onna no ko audio-stories on the train to school and so.

Well, if you want suggestions of untranslated VNs from some criteria like genre, length and language difficulty try make a post in Clephas' custom recommend a VN thread

Right click the folder, select properties, unselect the box Read only.

 

And if you downloaded it with torrent and it didn't come in an archive, stop seeding it (uploading it) or copy the folder and use one to seed (share) and one to play.

I suppose you have:

1. No write protected files in your Rewrite directory
2. Run the batch under admin or manually entered correct keys in regedit
3. Checked that AV software hasn't blocked any files

Just a notice, the PID doesn't have to be the same the second time you started the VN compared to the first.

Sometimes VNs have less obvious names as processes, keep an eye on the list before and after you start the VN. If you find a new process, the chances are high it's the wanted.

You really don't have anything to set up. Just download it, start it and it will hook unto the first VN it recognises. It has build in EDICT for looking up words and support for ATLAS. Here's a video guide for it.

When it comes to text hookers I'd like to recommend visual novel reader, you get the text on a floating box on top of the VN so you can read VN:s in full screen and more features.
