Still, if it works, it's going be a memorable day! So, to make things clear: WoF FD is a go; WoF, WoF2 & WoF2 FD is a no. Right? At this point I would settle for a clear game script of WoF FD, WoF2 & WoF2 FD... Getting a translation of those is my lifetime project

Whoa! O_O You really know your stuff... I haven't tested anything yet, but I wonder if this method would be applicable to the other 3 WoF games? (The whole series is completed at 4. I want all of them out eventually.)

Can't help you with the technical stuff, I can only explain how the game works. WoF always seemed like a lost cause to me, because much of the text is generated at random from a pool of many choices and the story may progress differently according to at least two parameters. All of the novel text is stored in that one script file and this is all I know. It's not even compressed if I remember correctly...

Wanted to delete my previous post, but I don't know how... Anyway, Nanashi's hkki told me zlib1.dll wasn't found, so I copied it from my hkki, but then it tells it couldn't find "libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll" ... Also, even if I could edit an unpacked script file with it, I have no idea how to put it back into the ISO (i.e. compressing it back) and hkki doesn't even read my WoF script.

My hkki seemed to work, then it crashed altogether :(/> I'll see what Nanashi3 cooked up...

This doesn't unpack properly - all files are 0KB after unzipping... I know this hkki thing is very handy, I happen to have the executable somewhere inside my machine, but it's designed to translate the Hakuouki script from the DS version of the game and it's not compatible with anything else...

??? Are you asking if the game is for PSP or PS2? I wound rather translate the PSP version, since there's a higher chance of getting a hacker to help someday...

I was thinking about picking up a few more projects (like the other two Amnesia PSP games and Hiiro and Wand? *is shot*) and recruit some people to help, so clean game scripts would really help... I don't want to be too much of inconvenience though...

Text might be hidden in an "instal.cpk" or "instal.dns" file if there is one... If not, try unpacking the bigger files from the ISO and look there...?

This is amazing! So clean... But how do I reproduce this on my machine...? D: I'm not a programmer... I use utf_tab for CPK files, but when I open them in CT or just OpenWriter it's all crap and some Japanese lines mixed in, so I have to pick them out before I actually translate a scenario...

Right now I'm translating Hiiro no Kakera, Amnesia & Wand of Fortune, but I don't mind other people picking up those projects. @xyz Those extracted hiiro scripts look nice I was wondering if you would be able to do similar extraction of Amnesia scripts?
