  1. Well, gotta say, a picture of Hanako from Katawa Shoujo. She's just so adorable in this pic.

    That cute little smile just makes it perfect.

    No kidding. Every time that beautiful being smiled I was going full ''HNNNNGGGGGGHHHHHH!''. She had it so tough and the fact that you could ease her pain, even a little, was enough for me. Aah, feel like crying...

    But anyway, the really cute image would be hmmm...

  2. Playing all the awesome untranslated VNs out there... =P

    Damn, that is a nice comeback. Kinda kick in a face too... ;_;

    Anyway

    Hello, welcome to the forums. I also recommend Little Busters, Steins;Gate, Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo, Ever17 and Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai (Even though it doesn't have all the routes translated)

  3. I have both Dragon's Crown and Tales of Xillia on preorder from Amazon.ca, but according to their delivery estimates it won't get here until at least the 15th. (so much for playing Dragon's Crown online with my friends who are getting it tomorrow. :rolleyes:/>

    That's pretty much standard for me. Two weeks or sometimes an whole month. It's crappy that we can get into conversation about the game when all the heat goes down. :/

    Dragon's Crown has an awesome artbook, but it's limited supplies only. Hope you get it.

  4. Depending on the plot and a theme I guess. You can't have nukige without it. But for the normal ones, where they are integrated after you get it going with your chosen heroine, like 俊 (Jun) stated the h-scene is mostly like a bonus. I prefer romance over it, but there are some cute and tender ones that I enjoyed, especially the ones where female is more dominant. I don't play VN with hardcore rape involved where girl is pleading for help. It's a turn off for me.

    But the bottom line is, yeah, H-scenes are welcome but they are not a deal-breaker for me. I enjoy them but they are way below my primary focus.

  5. It's like a nicely written book with pretty images on top of it. The greatest strength of VNs, for me anyway, it's not just the story but the character interaction and learning one's personality. You wont get to know character anywhere else like you can learn in these types of games (aside from few other gameplay-related Japanese games). From the life important things to unimportant things, all that info gives us insight of a character that we are looking at and it's what makes us love them. The choices during the VN, if there are any, drive us to pick the girl that intrigues us the most, be it by her looks or some moe stuff that she showed. But of course, there are always exceptions, like Down said above...

  6. Have you tried any of the Exodus Guilty? Aiyoku no Eustia is also good but still not translated...

    I guess the setting with might and magic is so compelling that not putting any gameplay would seem like a waste? So far, all the fantasy type VN with gameplay fights were compelling and never annoying. But I wouldn't mind playing one with just the story focus. And I hope there are more in the future. Can't never have enough elves. ^^

  7. Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, although not many chapters are out there. It's really fun for a monster girl lover such as myself.

    Aside from that I just finished the few chapters of The Legend of Maian manhwa. Dal Young Im really makes great and strong female characters but likes to molest them with his various fetishes... sigh...

  8. I think Yuuji has some awesome lines, mostly near the end of the game. Unfortunately he does tend to take some things a bit too far and made me cringe cuz' of his stubbornness and arrogance. But people find him badass cuz' he ''gets shit done'' and witty lines amusing. But I always look at brighter picture on how others around him feel. Well I wouldn't let it bother me so much if I weren't such a nice guy. IRL I don't ever take jokes too far to hurt someone's feelings.

    Minase Aoi is probably my type of ideal protagonist. Hard-working, smart, never pushes jokes too far and is nice to the girls. But I guess normal is boring to some. XD

  9. I guess I was lucky enough to have a few friends who were into it, especialy considering I come from a countryside village. I had a deal with one of my friends during the Snes/PSX era where we would try not to buy the same RPGs so we could lend them to each other. (Still kinda sad I'm not the one who bought Suikoden II, them e-bay prices. ;_; )

    This thread reminded me of another of my first eroge, Knight of Xentar. (aka Dragon Knight 3) Even back then it was kinda iffy, but it still is one of the first games I played that had hentai scenes and I have somewhat fond memories of playing it. I never finished Cobra Mission though.

    Aah, I envy you. To have someone to talk and share your favorite genre. I was lucky one to buy Suikoden II, probably the most played game in my life. Knights of Xentar was a hidden gem and way ahead of its time. Aside from h-content, the game was pretty damn fun, same for Cobra Mission and Metal & Lace. It's a shame that Megatech software fell apart rather quickly, if they were active we would have had a lot of games.

    I heard they reformed under MegatechGames but so far they only released Undercover - Girls of Cobra mission for iPhone.

  10. Honestly, the removal of h-scene is no bother to me whatsoever if they are not part of story that will hinder the overall progression and growth of the character. However, rewriting scenes that they are far different from original is entirely different thing and I do not appreciate. So, do it right or don't do it at all. I don't want to play through 2nd hand vision, I want to appreciate it as it originally was.

  11. Mine is probably one of the old JAST releases, most likely True Love or Season of Sakura, which I both quite enjoyed at the time. I also played Thousand Arms on PS1, but it's mostly RPG with some dating sim parts.

    Ahh, the good old Thousand Arms. Remember the time when I was the only one among my friends to play such games. When I wanted to spread the love they were never interested, saying it was too childish. It was lonely being a JRPG player. ;_;

    As I said in my intro page, my first acquaintance with anything related to VN style of gameplay was Hexamoon Guardians on psx. Then Gloria fell into my hands and it was pretty darn good. The H-scenes kinda surprised me but it was good... khm... learning material. I think Season of Sakura came after that. At the time I didn't know much about those games so when I played anime/manga style of game I could not know if game had adult material or not as my English wasn't that good then. Yes yes, the ignorance of +18 sign...

    Do you Like Horny Bunnies fell into my hands and I became even more interested. I had that game installed for a LONG time. Then Virgin Roster came into my hands later and it almost scared me for life. I cried a lot and it was too heavy for me. Then I learned a lesson to always research about the game a bit before playing it. Now I'm less into eroge and more story based VNs.
