I know one director being vehemently against using shoddy machine translations and selling them dirt cheap for a profit. He has too much pride in his work to do something like that.

So, seeing a comment like yours make me happy, because I respect the director a lot.

Unfortunately, not every game company director thinks the way mine does...And if you just want profit and an 'easy way' to penetrate the english market...Well...

Nowadays, titles considered too old or not profitable enough just dont get translated. 

It's one thing if a company is retranslating a game that was fan tranlated for free, but as you say I'm not sure anyone would re translate a game that already has a TL, even if it's...less than stellar.

Sad news, but unfortunately it is probably true that its just a lot cheaper to hire a hack than a proper company.

Hey, I'd like to think they at least make good on their word, so just send a question in if you have something you want to know or ask the director. Although by now you may not make it to the deadline...

Well, it's written there 'Might feature it' so there is probably a chance it will go on, supposing you don't ask sensitive questions. 

And of course someone saw them, I'm sure that staff member who...erm, got in trouble is technically still working there, and this too is part of his job, I think.
