  1. In your own words, what is a visual novel? To me, a visual novel is the final result of modern story telling-the fusion of all present day techniques to present a story into one glorious medium. This is through the visuals and music (Movies and television), high reliance on text and narrative (Books), and various choices and possibly even gameplay to enhance immersion and story telling options (Video games). In other words, pure awesomeness What makes you love VNs? 1. Read above, its fairly obvious 2. The ridiculously niche nature of VNs allow them to tackle ideas, themes and concepts mainstream media wouldn't touch with a long stick. This can be clearly seen in something like SubaHibi, which features truly horrifying scenes which contribute to the story, but it is still safe to say that it would be impossible for a movie to be made out of it. Hell, I doubt even something like Umineko would be made in a Hollywood TV series since the concept is so weird. 3. Strong reliance on character development. Name one favorite song from a VN? Clannad's "Nagisa Farewell at the Foot of a Hill" and "The Place Where Wishes Come True", makes me cry every time ;_; . Also Umineko's entire soundtrack. Can you think of a moment in a VN-to-Anime where the anime perfectly effectively mirrored or embodied the novel? Both of those scenes are absolutely perfect in the anime, and make me cry each and every time I see them (Actually I was pretty much tearing up just from remembering those scenes writing this post)
