  1. I read a fair amount of manga & light novels in comparison to my anime viewing. For my list, I'm only putting the series that have been completed. I'm reading some on-going series that I find great thus far (Yotsubato!, Otoyomegatari, Yasashii Sekai no Tsukurikata), but I will hold off until I see where the ending will be.

    1. Monster
    2. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou
    3. Great Teacher Onizuka
    4. Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä
    5. Azumanga Daioh
    6. Full Metal Alchemist
    7. Hoshi no Koe
    8. Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei
    9. Ichigo 100%
    10. Salad Days
  2. Congrats. Could you post your final build/parts?

Are you having the desire to overclock? I know later on, Intel locked on the multiplier on H87 so no overclocking, but depending on which BIOS revision it is, it still possible to overclock using this particular board especially since you got the unlocked CPU.

  3. Incidental Music (IM), also called "insert songs" or "featured songs", are songs or musical pieces that occur within the body of the anime. They differ from Background Music (BGM) in the amount of "attention" they are given - for instance, there is seldom any dialogue over IM, whereas dialogue frequently occurs over BGM.

Insert songs will always have lyrics.

    My favorites are

Aozora - Air TV, Episode 13

Akatsuki No Kuruma - Gundam Seed, Episode 40

God Knows - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Episode 13

Honoo no Tobira - Gundam Seed Destiny, Episode 40

Mizu No Akashi - Gundam Seed, Episode 36

Winter Wish - Love Hina Christmas Special

  4. I'm currently 27 and I began watching anime back during elementary school on VHS dubbed in Vietnamese. So I have been close to two decades watching anime.

Akira – A landmark in animation quality.
Astroboy – Osamu Tezuka's most popular work. Enough said.
Cardcaptor Sakura & Sailor Moon – These two series epitomize the magical girl genre.
Cowboy Bebop – Not only a great anime, but one of the few anime productions that can claim with a straight face that the dubbed version is superior to the original.
Grave of the Fireflies – Makes you rethink anime because it explores the a topic that is often glamorized and not explored in anime, yet ends up so haunting and serious.
Macross & Mobile Suit Gundam – The two series that launched two mecha series that have spanned over four decades.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind – This is Studio Ghibli's first work even though the original VHS released was so bad that even Miyazaki tells fans to repress the memories of watching that original VHS release.
Neon Genesis Evangelion – One of the works whose themes have expanded beyond anime watchers and helped dramatically expand anime's reach.

    Monster

Not been bothered to play ranked. I pretty much play ARAMs these days. If I play normals, I've pretty much a support, mid or jungler. Since I play lots of ARAM, I've been picky about new champs, thus why I have more than 10k RP and 70k IP

My main champs are pretty much Diana, Lux, Blitzcrank, Thresh, Shyvana, Amumu and Jayce. Have not been playing much of late due to a combination of work, school, and other hobbies. I used to play Amumu or Lux support even back in S2/S3.

  6. I'm am currently watching three on-going series right now: Gin No Saji, Golden Time and Nisekoi. For each of the series, once I have gone past the first episode or two, I will skip the OP/ED each time.

Even for some of the OP/ED which eventually make their own onto my Ipod or desktop or I will skip the OP/ED when I watch the series to make those episodes 20 minutes instead of 23 minutes. The only noticeable ones I didn't skip were Mou Ichido Kimi ni Aitai and Hoshizora no Waltz.

Otherwise it's pretty watch any OP/ED twice just to listen to it and find clues on what happens next based on the animation.

How Often Do You Skip the OP/ED?

  7. I spent a lot of time reading as a child. My parents would take me to the public library each and every Monday during the summer and probably every two weeks during the school year. I was pretty eccentric as a kid because all through elementary school, I read nothing but non-fiction books espeically about dinosaurs, wars and airplanes. Even when I started reading more fiction books in middle school and high school, I still read a lot of technical books (web design, programming, etc).. During uniersity, I read mostly newspapers and news magazines.

Now, as a working professional, I read casually in my free time.

  8. I'm taking baby steps in learning Japanese so imported titles are a NO thus far.

The 3D function on the 3DS and the multimedia options with the Vita with music and movies don't even weigh into it for me. My tablet and cellphone handle videos just fine.

In terms of strategy RPGs, I was/am in total love with Final Fantasy Tactics. I actually purchased FFT: WotL for $5 despite not owning the PSP just to play with an emulator on my PC. I played the original on PSX and will probably get it for Android when it gets to the Play Store stateside. There is a dearth of these types games on PC and home consoles, because game developers see these genre as perfect for the mobile experience.

  9. I will preface this topic with this disclaimer: I have never owned a handheld gaming console. As old as I am, my gaming platform history consists of Nintendo Entertainment System to Sony Playstation to Sony Playstation 3. In between those generations of consoles, I play a lot of PC games.

I own a Galaxy S4 and a Galaxy Tab 8 where I can play some of the older game libraries on both the 3DS and Vita, but there is something to be said about playing something on the go with actual buttons. I am definitely not a fan of touchscreen gaming. Some other factors to consider, I don't intend to purchase a PS4 anytime soon and don't bother with PS+ because I don't have time to cycle through the instant game collection. I have my small group of games I enjoy multiple times.

I'm looking to get a handheld gaming console because I want to get my hands on some genres that aren't exactly popular on PC or even consoles. This will be strategy-RPGs and visual-novel games.

  10. To me, there are two types of grinders that exist: grinding to unlock better equipment and to unlock more gameplay.

I loathe for games where the main purpose of grinding is to gain better loot. This is why a great deal of action RPGs and MMORPGs come to a grinding halt to me. The concept or lure of hitting the same button or buttons in a single area for the purpose of better equipment does not do it for me at all. This is exactly where the Diablo series, Borderlands series and Guild Wars 2 did not do it for me.

If the grinding has the purpose of unlocking more skills or more abilities, I'm definitely all for it. That's why I am a fan of the tactical RPGs where there are a multitude of job classes and abilities within the class, such as Final Fantasy Tactics and the Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre series and even Pokemon. However, I have been the type just to get my entire party to level 99 just because it's the max level. My party in Pokemon is typically middling in the 60's.

  11. My only intention will be to head to Japan for the Olympics in 2020. I've always been a fan of the major international sporting events and wanted to travel to Japan. I have six years to prepare my wallet for such a trip.

I have a Doctorate in Pharmacy and am working on a Master's in Healthcare Informatics. I do not see myself living and working full-time in Japan anytime soon. I've just started studying Japanese in a more structured setting, but I'd probably see myself traveling and liasoning with people in the Japanese healthcare/pharmaceutical industry, which is fairly robust.

  12. I pretty much read the LNs done by Baka-Tsuki. These are the ones that I'm at completely caught up to on. I tend to read these on my Nook.
