Huh, I know how you feel. These days I just lurk around Fuwa and post once every 6 months or so, then I usually disapear.
Like you said, I wish I had invested my time learning JP, all dem VN's I would be able to play... but no, its too hard and I'm too lazy.

I started Grisaia no Jakitsu a few days ago and...*sigh* the characters are just so over the top, I get that the game doesnt take itself seriously, but dear God! Why am I forced to deal with those people?! Danmit game, give me a choice! For once allow me to be a jerk, just like G-Senjou! Even though I got a Bad End on that VN out of nowhere, It was a fun experience!

Katawa Shoujo literally left me with a void in my heart. Never felt as empty as I did the couple weeks after I played it. The experience was so freaking surreal
It seems I always end up agreeing with your posts regarding Katawa Shoujo...playing it was an amazing experience, I still cant stop thinking about it. Its definitely one of the very few VN's that managed to completely capture my heart and attention.

Katawa Shoujo (especially Lilly's route) took my heart and served it on a platter. Nothing's affected me in the same way but Narcissu and Planetarian seem to be the consensus "tear-jerkers" around here

I've yet to watch RWBY, the trailers easily got me hooked, particularly the Red one, the choreography and music were fantastic! However, folks should take note that this isnt an Anime, it only has an Anime style.

Just finished Hanako's route in Katawa Shoujo and I must say im kinda disapointed, it felt so short, and the ending, though sweet, lacked closure, unlike Lily's route, some folks suggested playing the Beta version of the game which include a couple different endings, one being a true ending with Hanako, which is said to be extremely good and satisfying, so Im gonna give it a try!

Its good news at least, even though I've never heard of the game before the trailers got me hooked. -
Giving up on a visual novel because of visuals? As you will. I like the artstyle, and the plot is definitely not lacking. So, if you can put up with the visuals, I'd whole-heartedly recommend it. It's a long comedy common route (with chuuni in it, if you know what that is), a bunch of routes with plot and romance. And two final routes which carry a different mood, but are also considered great.
You can download 'If My Heart Had Wings' by buying it from the official localization site, MoeNovel, or by torrenting it. I'm all for supporting official localizations, but they did such a messy job and butchered the visual novel in such a way... The translation is rubbish on some routes, Ageha's is impossible to read at the moment.
They made it all ages, which I don't mind, by removing anything even remotely to do with sex or deemed inappropriate, which I do mind. That's not how you make an all ages visual novel.
There is a restoration patch to restore the original, removed, content.

KS was my first VN and I wasn't too privy at the time into what VNs were good and stuff. Shuffle! was my second VN... It had a lot more ecchi and I really only loved one of the routes, Asa-san

VN eSports? What sort of witchcraft is this? Honestly, I dont see it working at all, you need good gameplay to make it at least tolerable for the competetive folk, and thats one thing VN's lack, I know there are tons out there who do posses some sort of it, however, they are usually not the main focus.

I just started Hanako's route, Katawa Shoujo has been an amazing experience so far, I love this VN way too much for my own good...I dont know what to do once Im finished with it.... how did you people move on? How many sleepless nights are necessary? What VN could possibly replace this masterpiece?

Use the walkthroughs. VNs aren't really video games in the traditional sense, so there is no reason not to.

A movie? Really? Sorry but I fail to see the point, the game itself was lackluster, It had some good moments sure, but the whole world was uninspired, basicaly a glorified reskined zomby apocalypse, there is nothing that stands out. 'Last of Us' isnt movie material.

Be wary of post-KS depression. Many people lost weeks worth of sleep after completing their favorite route(s).

Finally decided to give Katawa Shoujo a try and was pleasently surprised, I was not expecting it to be this good, Im currently pursing Lily's route and loving every second of it, so much infact that I dont want it to end. I've never been so attached to a VN character like this before, well, that is if you dont count Kotonoha from School Days, but thats beside the point, all I can do now is enjoy whats left of our time together.

Black, Red and Blue are the colours I most like, I do not have a clear favourite, however, I've always liked the combination of Black and Red, It radiates an aura of strenght, power and unity like no other.
Examples of factions who made use of it are the Terran Republic (Planetside 2), Helghast (Killzone) and National Socialist Germany (WW2), they all possess an unique ideology backed up by an powerful military. -
That's only because we suck at making them. Once we figure out how to make them just right, you won't be able to tell the difference between them and humans~
Not being able to tell the difference between a human and a robot would be a nightmare, there is a fine line robotics must not cross, one is giving them sentience, the other, human appearence.
They are not us, therefore they should not look or act like us.

I'm honestly not much good at discussing this stuff, but I can say that I personally look forward to further developments.
Even if we all lose our jobs they're gonna have to do something to keep us unemployed plebeians in place. It's impossible to run a nation where half the population is unemployed, meaning we'll either still keep our jobs in other places (whatever works best) or society is gonna change drastically.
I do not, robotics is only neat now because Its still in development, It has much to evolve, right now Its pure sci-fi, however, once robots start being mass produced and replacing human workers we will have a problem, corporations and the rulling elite would have probabily replaced any sort of government by then, and they give even less of a shit for folks like you and me, meat for the meatgrinder in their eyes.
I dont see any positive outcome. Society would quickly fall into decadence once people start heavily relying on robots in their everyday life.

Why do you want to force yourself to do something you don't want to?
Being burned out is usually a sign that you need to occupy your mind with something else or you're just going to make it worse.
Thats good advice, forcing yourself into playing something you don't want will not help you regain interest, It will only bore and frustrate you.

I'm not sure what you mean...some Japanese names will always sound weird to an foreign audience, however, that doesnt matter, their market lies in Japan itself, If the Japanese themselves think these names are "uncool" then they probably got a problem, but hey, what do I know right?

Well, I just recently picked up this VN again, and apparently it has all sorts of problems, not just censorship from cutting H-scenes, which was easily solved by the restoration patch, but bad translation and some random glitches/bugs, like not being able to access my goddamn CG gallery! Speaking of which, would that be something you guys could fix?
I have yet to see this supposed Engrish that plagues it, maybe its because I have yet to start a route, which makes me curious, does Kotori's route suffer from this aswell? She's the only girl I'm interested in, I rather not deal with awful translation, but if it isnt that bad, then I might aswell keep reading.
