As a change of pace from all the seinen I've been reading lately, I picked up the first volume of The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat. I had already seen the anime, but it's still somehow even funnier than I was expecting.
I also finaly started Soil, the only of Atsushi Kaneko's french published works I hadn't read yet. Looking good so far, the art style is very original like always, the main characters seem pretty cool, and the mystery itself looks very interesting as well. Already had a couple of "wtf?" moments. I particularly like Onoda, the dorky female cop.

Good. I'm pumped (:
I heard Kobato was extremely good. What's your opinion on it?
Kobato was a recommendation I got on this forum and I wasn't disapointed. Visualy it's nothing spectacular, but the story and characters are really interesting. This show managed to make me both laugh a lot and cry a little as well. I still have four episodes left to watch though, and I expect major feels ahead.

Ikr! Panty and Stocky indeed does have fantastic animation. I'm buying it on Blu - Ray when the re-release comes out and I plan watching it a second time. Probably in dub.
Nice! I bought the Blu-Ray kind of on a whim after hearing a lot of praise for the show on another forum and definitely did not regret it. I've watched all of it at least twice and a few episodes some more too!
Now I'm gonna go finish Kobato after catching up on my weekly shows.

I think anyone who thinks PSG had bad animation need to get their eyes checked.(or get their head out of their ass and realize the generic anime style is just that : generic) Also, animation and art style are two different beasts. A show can have terrible art yet still have great animation, and vice versa. (The japanese are well known for making still images appear to be moving after all.) As someone who did animation in the past and has seen countless animated movies from all around the world, I was really impressed with Panty & Stocking's animation, and the style was a breath of fresh air as well IMO. #my2cents
(and it's one of those rare shows where the english dub has a cult following, because it's simply hilarious and fits so well!)

Personally I think the 3D is fine, and some of the backgrounds still manage to give us glimpses of Tsutomu Nihei's amazing environments. Of couse Nihei's art is best experienced in manga form, though if you want to read a different storyline from the same artist I suggest Blame!. I would love to see his artwork adapted in a faithful 2D style though. (The Blame! ovas were pretty disapointing.)

Anamanaguchi! I love chiptune music.

I haven't read that many romcoms, but I''s is my longtime favorite. http://myanimelist.net/manga.php?id=818 It's been a while, but I think the ending was conclusive if my memory serves me right.

Allright, thanks! I'm not the biggest loli fan, but I suppose some of the characters I like might fall under that category, so I'll check out Gelbooru.

I finaly completed Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge. It was pretty good overall, I got many laughs out of it and it's what should matter most to a comedy.
I got my hands on the Tekkonkinkreet blu-ray yesterday, so I'm probably gonna watch that while I still wait for Deadfish to re-encode Ping Pong episode 11. (Episode 10 was so awesome. )
Also almost done with Kobato, only four episodes left to go!
(edit : OMG! The AnoHana movie! Downloading now!)

I had the same problem as Funnerific a few days ago when I first tried logging into Ex using Firefox with the haruhichan app, but now I managed to log in on my first try with no hassle! (maybe my forum account was too recent or something?) Hopefully it will be worth it. Anyone knows if there's something similar for Danbooru? Sometimes some search pages are strangely empty.
(On topic, I usualy use Danbooru and Konachan for pictures, and g.e-hentai for doujins. I used to scour japanese doujin websites quite a few years ago, but I'm now completely out of the loop on what are the good sites and I've become lazy. For anime, I was never a big fan of hentai anime, but I've recently downloaded some of the top seeded movies on sukebei and some have been of a surprisingly good quality! Purely Kiss and Platinum Milky come to mind. )
Also, when browsing doujins or pictures, there's usualy about 1 out of 50 that I find good enough to download, most of the rest just has trashy art IMO.

My #2 spot is held by a Bioware game. Though I'm more of a fan of their older games(Infinity Engine ftw!), I did enjoy both Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
The Last Remnant was fun, though I never finished it. (Couldn't really go back to the 360 version after experiencing all the improvements of the PC version heh.) FFXII was one of my favorite PS2 games, and probably my favorite FF from those published after VII. I'm a big fan of Yasumi Matsuno and his games.
-
That's more or less it :
1. Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX)
2. Baldur's Gate II : Shadows of Amn (PC)
3. Final Fantasy VI (Snes)
4. Earthbound (Snes)
5. Castlevania : Symphony of the Night (PSX)6. Ys : The Oath in Felghana (PSP and PC)
7. Fallout 2 (PC)
8. Ogre Battle (Snes and PSX)
9. Suikoden II (PSX)
10. Red Dead Redemption (360 and PS3)
Of course there's always a bunch of games I probably like just as much as these, but choices had to be made, I played too many games lol.

Some editors choose to publish in a different format. I have a few french editions that are not of the same size as their english counterparts for example or have different covers or even reversed pages.(though the last one doesn't really happen anymore AFAIK)

I forgot to mention I watched the movie Sakasama no Patema (aka Patema Inverted) last week. It was a pretty good movie, I really enjoyed it. I hadn't really looked into what it was prior to watching it, I just saw the release on Nyaa and grabbed it, so I was rather pleasantly surprised. My main complaint would be that the main villain was rather simple minded (his somewhat irrational motivations were probably guided by fear I guess) but otherwise the animation quality was pretty nice, the characters were decent and the story had some good ideas. The soundtrack was good as well.(This can often make or break a movie imho, like Joe Hisaishi's music made many movies that much better for example.)

I listen to a lot of video game music and covers, so here are a few of my favorite tracks that I don't think have been posted yet.
FFT has always had one of my favorite OSTs : (and I remember many of the gaming magazines I used to read chose it as "Best OST" the year it came out.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_no4p6hhyDo
Ys : Oath in Felghana : Valenstein Castle (Falcom has some great soundtracks!)

River City Ransom OST, can't seem to get tired of it :

I rarely watch live-action japanese movies and series, but I don't think we should generalize, I have seen some decent ones.
Nodame Cantabile was awesome, I loved it. Shimokita Glory Days(based on a harem manga) was pretty cool as well, I quite enjoyed it. Dragon Head had a decent movie adaptation.(Well, it was OK compared to the manga I guess.) 20th Century Boys got an adaptation in 3 movies as well, though I heard mixed impressions. The live action version of Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo has a pretty good reputation as well. The production values are obviously nowhere near that of Hollywood movies, but Hollywood's budgets are just monstrous.

Glasslip looks cool. I got interested as soon as I saw it was by P.A. Works and went on to fondly remember Hanasaku Iroha.
I'll probably also watch GGO cause I already watched SAO and a few of my IRL friends are fans. I'm also curious about the Sailor Moon remake for some reason even though I've never considered myself a fan.
For everything else I'll take it as it comes and see what's hype after a few episodes like I usualy do.

This season for me is all about Ping Pong, Knights of Sidonia, Mekakucity Actors, Mushi-Shi and No Game No Life. Ping Pong is one of the best shows I've seen in years.
Not from this season, I watched a bunch of series since I last posted in this thread and finished a few that I had stalled for a while. Currently rewatching Monogatari Series Second Season, K-On!! (season 2) and Hyouka, while also watching Awaraka Under the Bridge x Bridge, Oreshura, Medaka Box and Record of Lodoss War Chronicles of the Heroic Knight (TV series). I think I might want to rewatch Non Non Biyori sometimes soon, since I'm kinda bummed that I've already read all volumes currently published in french.
I also recently finished watching all seven Kara no Kyoukai movies/OVA. I really enjoyed it, great series.

I've been playing Child of Light on PS3. Hard mode is pretty good, the game is very pretty as well.

I finished Kobato last night. Much feels, yes, much feels... ;_; The ending was quite good, which is nice since this is often the most disapointing part in many series.
