Very odd Steins;Gate bug

Im suffering through a very weird bug that stops videos halfway. Example is the first prologue video, it skips to the second prologue video about stars after the line "I am completely sane"

The world line number change video ends before stopping completely. Its like I pressed a button to skip it but I didn't.

Also this is not the first VN this happened. Ever17 did the same. Those are the only two though.

Japanese locale, unticked read only, and is an official disk from Jast.

official release from Jast does not require jap locale.

google and install: K-Lite codec pack (when it asks for profile, select: LAV for everything.)

ThankS but it didnt work I actually had a bunch of filters installed (haali, LAV audio and video, madvr, reclock, etc.) I uninstalled all of those and nothing.

Honestly after hours of tinkering I just decided to reinstall windows.
A bit sad that i am having problems with this official disk when I didn't have with the torrent.

I just downloaded the old fuwanovel torrent of this game and oddly enough it plays completely.

 

It seems this only happens to official US released games. I tried using English US locale but no dice.

It seems MPEG-2 demultiplexer and directvobsub(which never played nice with other VNs) were the cause. I thought I had deleted the latter but it was tucked away in the registry. Anyone else having this problem should try Microsoft's Fixit troubleshooter.
