I am starting the second game today so I figured I'll make a thread for it!

Like, setting wise? 3 kingdoms/Sengoku periods, but all the generals are cute girls instead of old bearded men? Well, it doesn't have to be 3 kingdoms or Sengoku periods but maybe just something that feels similar, sort of like Daibanchou, but preferably without excessive amounts (or any) rape, and yes, unfortunately this takes out Sengoku Rance. People have told me that in Sengoku Rance, it's 'comedic rape' and not meant to be taken seriously, but I still can't bring myself to even try it. Although, I guess it if its similar to Daibanchou in the respect that the protagonist is not the one that rapes...I could maybe be ok with that, if we get a chance to save them from it by choosing certain actions or something. But I digress, I didn't mean to talk about all of that lol.
So, anyone know anything like that?
Nope, Rouga and Rance would fight each other, they're quite opposite in this regard. Rance's very goal in conquering other kingdoms is to have sex with their beautiful princesses. However Rance is not aware it is rape because he is so infantile and believes it's his job as the hero to bring happiness to women by having sex with them, and he also does not know any naughty vocabulary.
On the other hand, he also has a very strong anti-lolicon policy, and actually has a good brotherly relationship with Nobunaga's little sister Oda Kou and goes out of the way to protect her. There are actually lots of really cute moments. Also, Kenshin's route is very different, as it flips the table on Rance when Uesugi Kenshin falls head over heel in love with him, and he suddenly becomes shy because he has no idea how to respond to actual love from a great woman like that.
Out of the translated VN Sengoku Rance is really your best bet if you enjoyed Koihime Musou, but there are plenty of untranslated VN like that, many of them bearing names like Sengoku in the title. But if you're willing to venture into untranslated VN, then you should first read the two sequels to Koihime Musou, which changes the scenario up a little by introducing an actual Liu Bei girl rather than have it be your role.

So it's different in a good way?
I really liked Majikoi the VN and tried the anime but it made me so upset! They turned it into a harem ecchi anime, which is really against the spirit of the original work. The game was heavy on the friendship and the other girls and guys are all your friends and they all support you in your relationship with the girl of your choice, so it is super jarring to see the characters reduced to suddenly all fighting over the main character when there are no such harem romantic strings in the game, where you only get into a relationship because you actively pursued the selected girl to make the relationship go from friend to lover.
So is the Canvas 2 anime still true in spirit?

Playing Jeanne d'Arc the SRPG but for VN I am thinking of starting either Muv-Luv or Hoshimemo.
Though I really need to read the Agatha Christie VN one day.

Really? I thought you were a big Type Moon fan!
But yeah, you can see that Takeuchi has improved quite a lot between this and Fate/Stay Night (and moreso in later artwork). If you liked Fate/Stay Night you should give it a read. They're set in the same world after all!

Type-Moon can be very confusing at times, I am pretty sure my own brain is going melt trying to think through various scenario's, plus I am not the most knowledgeable even being a TM fanboy @@;

I enjoyed it a lot, though I felt it dropped the ball at the end due to running out of screen time, especially with regards to Berserker and Kariya.
That aside, it was quite a fantastic show and raised the bar for what is expected from adaptations. Its complex multidimensional portrayal of the different individuals' morality and goals lead to so many wonderful philosophy debates!

Hey guys, Im have an incredbly hard time with this. After a discussion with Tay about the merits of finishing this I decided to continue on. Well I just got Tsubaki Bad Ending and I gotta say im pretty disgusted.
Tsubaki basically turns into a drug addict, sex crazed evil minion of the MC after he basically violated her in the park. She was such a pure person, I dont understand the reasoning behind the fucking lame ass writing behind this.
This question is for Tay, did you play all the routes?? Because, I asked about if the game had certain elements and you told me no. Im guessing you didnt finish?
Im pretty disgusted so far and not sure if I will complete this after all.

Well, in another thread Joachim mentioned it felt awkward to have sex with someone under mental duress and still have it lead to a happy relationship.
Well, G-Senjou takes that into account. For every single non-Haru girl, the Bad End is always the result of having sex with her while she's not in a healthy mental state; i.e. taking advantage of her. Don't try to have sex too early until you have a loving relationship! Maybe the author is going out of the way to form an aesop?
Only happy loving sex = Happy End! No need for a walkthrough, just make loving choices!

Not at all, but I love Jeanne d'Arc, so reading about a game is making me extremely curious ! Wich game would it be the most close to ? Is it faithful to the true story of Jeanne ?
It's a strategy RPG. Think games like Disgaea and Final Fantasy Tactics. This game takes a "back to the roots" approach so it doesn't overload you with as much stuff as those, but still brings enough new features to be refreshing. The skill system is kind of like materia from FF7 in that you equip skill stones you obtain onto the characters you want, customizing them that way.
Well, it's a history meets fantasy game, so it's faithful in spirit (Jeanne hearing voice from God to protect her beloved France and earning her respect through accomplishments, and meeting up with various figures like Gilles de Rais and La Hire) but obviously the real war didn't involve demons and various fantasy stables like lizardmen. A lot of the battles are also historic. Most of the party is fictional though...at least, I think. Jeanne actually gets a magical armlet that lets her transform in a holy knight form for two turns. In addition to a big stat boost, she gets the ability Godspeed, which lets her potentially act multiple times a turn. It's actually more interesting than it seems from a narrative perspective, because Jeanne's stats are actually pretty mediocre, and yet the holy abilities are initially critical to your success, which shows why people would believe in and depend on her. As the game goes on it becomes less critical and more people also get armlet abilities, signifying the French army growing into their own to a state that they can carry on without Jeanne.
I'm a third of the way through. So far the British are laughably evil, sending orcs to ravage peaceful lovely France and massacring people, but the British general implies France did the same in the hundred years war. Jeanne openly shows resentment towards the British but is taken back by the general's words. It strongly hints that they are not the true source of villainy considering the opening shows Henry VI being possessed by a demon, so I wouldn't be surprised if by the end everyone unites to defeat evil and let go of their hatred.
Of course, that would depend heavily on how the famous witchburning scene goes in this game...While using fantastical means, the game also gives valid if incorrect reasons for why people would genuinely think she is a witch. Oddly the game actually has a magic system per RPG standards that anyone can use but nobody ever comments on it!
And lots of real French people tried out for the VA so at least most of the accent should be authentic

I understand that it is a way to pity her even more. But I am too sentimental and this kind of stuff creeps me out. I need to feel some efforts to be comfortable with these parts. I think it is a bit too convenient too, it seem tacked on to please impatient people. But you make me want to pick it up again.
Well, what irks me about the art is that imagefor example. Her foot is disturbing to say the least
. Her other leg is completly out of proportion too. The blood is disgusting, and she has the features of a 12 years old ! This I guess is a matter of taste though.Huh, I never noticed that it was out of proportion before!
I also initially didn't like the art style but it really grew on me.The thing is though, I believe the fact that she's blackmailing you into sex isn't meant to increase her pity value, but rather makes you think about how damaged she is. Indeed, if I didn't pity her so much and blame it mostly on the damage from the bullying, it'd cause me to think rather negatively about her. Even through the story the protagonist only slowly embraces her and tries to help her, and even then doesn't initially do too much to save her. You aren't meant to feel comfortable, because the relationship and atmosphere of bullying is terrifying and doesn't magically go away just because you're now Aeka's boyfriend.
By the way, you're thinking from the angle of the sex as a reward. While this may be true for some audience, in the story I felt it was the other way around. Imagine if you were minding your own business and suddenly come across a girl you've never talked to trying to jump off a bridge, and she intends to kill herself out of having no one in her life that cares about her. At least you're not one of the people that bullies her, and next thing you know, she essentially implies she'll only stop trying to kill herself if you become her boyfriend and have sex with her, otherwise she's jumping to her death right now. What would you do? Like sex scenes, to some people, it'd be a reward to suddenly "score a cute girlfriend", but I think the scenario should be very uncomfortable for the guy, and was in the case of Kouhei. She was not a target of his affections, and he seemed like the type of guy that prefers to mind his own business. I think it's best to see it as a story rather than assuming the girl is intended to be the objectified perfect girlfriend (I've actually seen one VN where the proper resolution with a girl is to break up with her because you realize she's a bad influence in your life).
But you brought up an interesting tangent to this thread when you said the blood was disgusting. It is realistic that girls usually bleed the first time they have sex because of their hymen being broken. However, it grosses lots of guys out so VN and hentai usually omit it for the sake of more widespread sexual appeal. What are people's opinions on this? Should blood be omitted in first-time sex scenes?

I recently played Yume Miru Kusuri, and the heroine, a introvert bullied and lonesome girl, let herself been penetrated by the main character she doesn't even know, like a horny stray cat. Even the art was painful to the eyes.
Actually, it was rather the other way around. Aeka actually essentially blackmailed Kouhei into having a relationship with her, threatening to kill herself if he didn't. She was the one to initiate the relationship when the protagonist had no real romantic or sexual interest in her at that point. I adored/pitied her enough that I didn't see this in my first playthrough, but I noticed this upon reflection. Aeka was not merely "letting herself be penetrated". It's foreshadowing that she's not quite all right in the head after all that bullying...
What did you dislike about the art?
