If ya'll are still looking for a hacker, while I haven't reversed any formats like wsc yet, I've cracked a lot of software. I'm obtaining a copy of the game and will take a look at it to see what I can work up and document the format as I take it apart. This game seems quite interesting to me so I'll glady do what I can to contribute as a reverse engineer.
Thank you and I really appreciate the help, happy holidays.

Ok so status on the hacking side: the scripts that I uploaded will be good for the translation, that is fine.
For insertion however, the will_con software removes all the other info needed in the script files and only prints the text of the lines in the file.
I first tried writing the software with the formula posted by Nanashi and failed horribly (one of the attempts I even managed to turn 20kb file into a 5MB of nonsense). Then Luch tried it and was more successful, using the formula there and the formula found in the source code of the will_con he managed to extract the arc into a file without removing the info about the music and addresses the game uses, the text was readable there but the addresses and such were still nonsense, only names of like voice files or backgrounds were visible with the lines. And that's when even luch run out of options to try and declared this to be impossible to hack for him (and definitely for me).
So yeah, you will need some good hacker for the WSC > TXT (including the important info) and then TXT > WSC.
For now you can start the translation with the text only script
Worst case scenario you will then insert the lines into VN Reader or something, but I think once the translation moves closer to finishing, you will have much better chance to find someone to help, people are much more willing to help with a project that is almost done as they know their work will not be for nothing (unlike when the project is dropped at 1-30% as most of the projects are).
In any event I would like to thank you for trying and for the time you put into this.

good news we got another translator, so translation on Chiharu's route and the common route have begun.
-
Ok, v3 of the will_con was able to extract it easily and more comfortable for translating (its not a single file this time which was terrible)
here are the scripts in txt: DOWNLOAD
the game starts in KY01_01.txt so seems like KY is common route and the remaining letters represent the remaining characters (I checked vndb and it is always the first 2 letters of their romanized given name).
I will now try the insertion.
Thanks for the help

thanks for that, although I can't understand it.

I should have mentioned this before but just in case you didn't know there's a thread with a list of fan translators here:
https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/939-fan-translator-skills-registration/
It might save you time looking for a translator if you PM them
thanks I will check it out.

I think what he meant was that you can use a text hooker to get the text and translate it, and when someone extracts the script you'll already have something done.
ah I see, well I suppose we could do it that way. Although I would like to have an experienced translator with us soon, but I will see what our current translators have to say about the idea of using a text hooker.
-
No need to wait, if you have VN already you can read and translate, use AGTH etc. to extract the script may also work.
According to Steve the script files are in a WSC format and need further decryption after extraction.

Yahooo! Im pretty much free to work whenever, so whatever homework you send to me I can get right to work on. I can also do image editing if need be, I am well versed in the wondrous ways of Photoshop.
Thanks I am loving your enthusiasm right now, but we have all image editor slots filled right now.

I have about 6 hours a day that are benign of anything useful. I am at the same level or less than CaptainCespa with my Japanese, but I am a hard worker and hard studier and would love to come on and help translate if you will have me.
~@CaptainCespa: you nabbed me right off the bat and I thank you for it xD
Yea I heard about you from CaptainCespa and we would be glad to have you.

Actually I -might- be able to do (light?) translation checking if that's needed still (if not, then oh well)
(don't have time for actual translation atm)
the help would be appreciated as we are still looking for more people to do translation checking.
-
Well I tried my best, I managed to get a readable format using a tool designed to convert the FD of this game to onscripter, but that's not really a format which you can then insert back.
The extraction itself is easy, but the scripts are in WSC format which needs further decryption or something, which will most likely require a custom software (according to one chinese forum).
So I am sorry but you will need a real hacker xD
(ask someone like ReTrans, maybe they will have less projects now so they might be able to help)
I see, I would like to thank you for your time anyways though and I appreciate your support.

That's great you got the scripts at least. You can ask for tools on how to re-insert the scripts too i'm sure Steve and other people can help you do that, don't be afraid to ask. I think the most important thing for now is having the scripts and starting translation.
When I last heard from Steve he said he was downloading the game so I believe that we should be starting soon.
-
The project hasn't taken off yet because it still needs a hacker to get the script files.
Once that's done i think it can be added as an official project and translation can begin
I asked Steve to extract the script and he agreed to do it, although we still need someone to do the insertion.

Is your project being tracked on Fuwanovel yet?
I don't think so.
-
Are we tracking the game yet?
what do you mean by tracking?
-
Thanks for the information, I will be sure to ask him.

I would like to give thanks to those whom have given their support thus far and I will give thanks to whoever gives their support in the future. I myself am excited to see this project get off its feet and start moving. As it stands right now we need another translation checker, more translators, and to actually get started we need a hacker.

Welcome~
Hmm I am a nakige fan, but...
Rewrite isn't really Nakige; the difference in tone from Key's previous works is pretty major. That said, I'm also a major fan of rewrite; it's definitely in my top 5. What other VNs did you enjoy the most?
Some of the other Vns I like would be Dracu-riot, Shinikiss, Grisaia no Kajitsu, G-senjou no maou, Majikoi.
-
welcome to fuwan, you said your favorite VN is Rewrite, are nakige your favorite type of VN?
nakige aren't necessarily my favorite type of VN but I do like them as they seem to leave a strong impression once the game is over, which is something I like quite a bit.

Hi I am new here on the forums and I go by Glitch on the internet. I have far too much free time and love to play visual novels, I can understand Japanese to a point where I can understand an untranslated visual novel if it is almost completely voiced including the protagonist but I can't read it. I am currently trying to start up a translation project for Otome ga Tsumugu Koi no Canvas and in great need of a hacker and translators.
One of my favorite visual novels of all time would have to be Rewrite, easily one of the best I have read. My hobbies would include watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games (mostly visual novels and jrpgs).
Nice to meet you all.

I like to help but the most I can do is quality checking and translation checker. I would like to do image editor or hacker work but I have like no exp But i would like to learn!
So give me a buzz if I can help! =)
Thank you for your reply, we would be glad to have you on board for this project as a translation checker and quality checker although you don't necessarily have to do both if you don't want but it would be welcomed. I will contact you once the project starts, once again thank you.

I am looking to start a translation for this game and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help.
I already have a translator who can read hiragana and katakana perfectly fine but isn't very good with kanji and slang so having another translator or 2 will be necessary, a translation checker is also needed at the moment, an image editor would also be welcomed and a hacker is what I am looking for the most to get the project started. I will be editing and I will also be doing the quality checking.
I have a website for this where a little more information on this can be found, neoprinny.com.
Edit: We have our Image editor and Editor positions have been filled while we still need a hacker and more translators the most and another translation checker.
I can now say we have officially started, although we are still looking for more translators and translation checkers.

I think the project has been moving along nicely, though I ran into some problems everything is going smoothly.
