  1. I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear but I don't get copyright strikes, I get community guideline strikes. They are two different things. Community guideline strikes are the ones you get when a youtube user reports your video for sex, violence, racism etc and when in general the video doesn't follow the rules that youtube has set for its partners. They have nothing to do with copyright. I also don't post the complete story of a visual novel, only the first hour or so. As for the Opening movies they act as promotion movies so their music is never copyrighted and that's why I am allowed to post them and you can find them is a lot of other channels. Besides, visual novels are considered video games so I think that I am allowed to use part of their images, music etc under youtube's fair use law. It's no different than the millions of other Let's Play videos on youtube. I don't believe I have to make my own commentary to 'own' the video. I could be wrong, but I don't think any of the reasons you give are proof that I violate any of youtube's policies or explains the continuous community guideline strikes that I get, though I do appreciate you taking time to reply yo me.
  2. Hi, I come here asking for advice on youtube and its policies. I started a year ago ago a channel mainly with visual novel videos and I constantly get my videos flagged as not advertiser friendly. The flagged videos are 100% following their rules as far as I can judge but their flags always turn to community guideline strikes unless I delete them. The video that was flagged today is "Aikagi [Eroge] Opening movie" which only has 4 views as of this moment. And the channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj_5giFnraNMcimrc6C8WlQ I tried ignoring the not advertiser friendly flag and it turned to a strike. I tried asking for a review and again it turned to a strike. I even tried making the video age restricted although it didn't have anything erotic and again it turned to a strike. Right now I have 2 strikes and I fear for a third. I am on a situation where every ten videos I post I have to delete the five of them after a couple of days. So if any of you has a similar youtube channel with visual novel videos can you please give me some advice on what I am doing wrong? I mean I check my latest flagged video, Aikagi OP movie, and I can't find anything wrong with it, but I can't risk it anymore and I will have to delete it too, probably some time today. Is there any way to avoid it? I am not asking for views and as you probably know, when one deletes his video he loses all of its views too, but I feel like I am constantly under attack and I am trying to figure out what is going on. I even had adsense suspend my account a month ago because they said I clicked on my own ads. And I don't even watch my own videos! I have videos with zero views! I can tell you with 100% honesty that I have never clicked one of my own ads not even once not even by mistake! Does any of you had similar experiences with youtube in general? Thank you.
  3. To me the biggest problem with kickstarter is the inherent "blackmail". Let me explain. If you want a hard-copy of the game the lower tier is always in the $100-$150 range and since I've talked with many developers doing kickstarters (adventures and RPGs) their reasoning is that you pay the money to support us and then we give you the physical release as a gift, so there is no relation between the money paid and the item received and that's why they'll never ever have a $30 physical release tier. And here's the blackmail, because unless you pay them this ridiculous amount a couple of years in advance and on the specific month they decided to run their campaign, they actually "promise" you that you'll never be able to find a hard-copy again, unless you go to ebay and pay an even more ridiculous price. For example: I tried to buy the physical release of Shadowgate Reimagined a couple of months ago. The game was released a year ago there was no retail release so I decided to contact the company. They told me that they could sell me the "collector's edition" [box, map, the game on a CD-R and NOTHING ELSE] for $100 because that's the money their backers paid. I told him that I don't want to "back" him! Their project was already kickstarted years ago, it was finished, the game was produced and sold and I just wanted to buy their product. Anyway he didn't back off, it was either pay $100 for a CD-R or nothing. His explanation was that he promised the backers that no more will be made, so even if it was a CD-R it has collectible value! And of course there was no plans for a reprint or a proper retail release. Second example. I tried to buy Tesla Effect the same way by contacting the company directly. They just told me that their "collector edition" [standard DVD case with nothing besides the discs] was a "gift" to the people who believed in them 3 years ago and they won't be printing any more out of respect for their collectability of their products! Let me clarify that I'm not a collector, I just want my games in a physical format, nothing more. So kickstarter not only has made me a beggar (I have to actually try and convince them to sell me their product each time I want to buy a game) but in the end I'm not getting the games either because I can't afford to pay more than $100 for a game. I can understand some games from the 80s to have collectibe value, but I can't accept a game being a collector's item since day one and therefore impossible to buy it at a reasonable price. On the other hand I can still go to MG and JAST who use a standard business method and buy any of their previous hard-copy releases, but with kickstarted projects it's always the same, collectors this and limited that and you'll never get it unless you pay me this specific month this huge sum. And to me this isn't a business model, this is simple blackmail.
  4. Greetings, I'm interested in making a patch for the Steins;Gate - Hiyoku Renri no Darling for the PSP based on the Youtube translation by Zakobot and I'm looking for people willing to help me. Here's what I'm looking for: 1. I contacted Zakobot but unfortunately he made it very clear that he doesn't want a patch to be made and he won't support any such attempt, so I'm looking for some people with a lot of free time in order to type down the translated lines from the youtube videos. No special skills needed for this. 2. We will also need a translator to do some very minor things. As of now there two things that need translation. The intro at the beginning and the episode synopsis for the in-game fictional anime RaiNet Kakeru. Obviously we will come across some untranslated scenes and mails but we'll deal with them as we find them. 2a. The intro is about 15 lines long but besides the translation we will need someone to recreate the psmf video file and insert hard english subtitles. Here are the screenshots with the untranslated text in case someone wants to give it a go. http://www.mediafire.com/download/vz1upqv8294bizg/SG-HRnD_Intro_screenshots.rar 2b. The RaiNet kakeru text has been probably translated in the official release of the original game but unfortunately I can't find the text anywhere, so we will have to re-translate it. There are 13 episodes and I have the text only for the first two. Here is the text for all episodes. I've included the translated episodes as reference. http://www.mediafire.com/download/j0b5nt5dd4p4h8k/SG-HRnD_RaiNet_Kakeru_text.rar 3. (Optional) There are two images in the manual section of the main menu that I can't replace. I've posted about it here, but unfortunately I haven't received any answers yet. If there is a hacker that can extract them and replace them that would be great. As of now I have written some utilities and I can extract and replace the text in the settings menu, the text-boxes with the character names, the phone functions, the phone messages with their subject names and the tips/glossary. If you want to help this project please send me a pm or an email. Thank you.
  5. Does anyone know where I can find the transcripts for all 13 episodes of the fictional anime RaiNet Kakeru as they appear on the original Steins;Gate vn? Official translation is prefered. If I remember correctly they came as attachments in various mails, but I don't remember who sent them, at what day, in what chapter etc and I would like to have them all in one place. Thank you.
  6. I've tried many LZ/LZSS decompressors without luck to all the 13 bin files inside OBJSY.cpk. As for sub_B4164 I am rather certain it is not the name of a file. If it helps, I was told that the game has the exact same file structure as Corpse Party Hysteric Birthday 2U. You can find the OBJSY.cpk in the following link along with the cpk_unpack.exe that unpacks it to the 13 bin files. http://www.mediafire.com/download/awkp9by1tj3gpja/OBJSY.rar
  7. Unfortunately I don't know what are the files inside OBJSY.cpk. When I extract them I get 1.bin, 2.bin etc and when I look at their raw data they seem to be some kind of container for more files but I can't unpack them further. I posted the same message in the forums of gbatemp and that's the only answer I got: "Looks like textures are stored in OBJSY.CPK inside 03.bin or 08.bin for the manual, I'm not sure. sub_B4164 does the decompression, $a0 is output buffer and $a1 is input. Dunno what compression they use since I haven't worked with that stuff, but it's probably some variation of LZ/LZSS (I mean, it's always LZ)." But I have no idea what he's talking about... Another poster understood it and posted an extracted pic as a proof of concept but neither of them replied to me as how to actually do it. So if any of you actually understand it and could point me in the right direction that would be really helpful. To make it more clear, I need a way to extract and obviously reinsert those images. Thank you.
  8. Hi, I am having a problem discovering some assets of the game Steins;Gate Hiyoku renri no Darling for the PSP and I would like to request some help. I have found almost everything from the game like text, CGs, background images, character sprites, videos, audio etc, BUT I cannot find the images used in the menu and settings. The game packs its resources in two big files data0.cpk and data1.cpk which can be easily unpacked. The files they contain can also be easily unpacked and I get the following file tree: DATA0.CPK --BGL00.CPK (Large background images TIM2 format) --BGS00.CPK (Small background images TIM2 format) --CHL00.CPK (Large character images TIM2 format) --CHS00.CPK (Small character images TIM2 format) --CONFIG.CPK (6 very small files!) --DATA0.CLS (list of the files in this archive) --FONTS.CPK (font files) --ICON.CPK (2 png images) --OBJSY.cpk (UNKNOWN) --SCENE00.cpk (game text) --SE00.CPK (sound effects audio files) --VO00.CPK (voices audio files) --VO01.CPK (voices audio files) DATA1.CPK --DATA1.CLS (list of the files in this archive) --SE01.CPK (wav audio files, sound effects) --SE02.CPK (wav audio files, sound effects and pmf video files) I've identified almost everything, so where can those images be? For example, in the main menu->System->Manual there is an image explaining the controls. This image is actually composed of three different images one on top of the other and with the use of alpha channel it displays like one. I deduced this with the help of the PPSSPP emulator's debug GE mode, but I can't understand the memory addresses in order to find where those textures come from. Obviously I checked the uncompressed elf of the eboot.bin but no luck. Any help would be really really appreciated! Thank you.
  9. The Install feature writes some audio files on the memory stick to speed up the game when played from the UMD. It's useless for the English release since the whole game is already on the memory stick. In other words it doesn't do anything so you can forget about it.
  10. That's probably because the video file 16.pmf doesn't have an audio stream muxed inside it. Since the original doesn't have an audio track, I made the English one the same. During gameplay it plays this video along with background music and a voice track from external files and streams all of them together in real time.
  11. Sorry, no plans for any vn localizations in the immediate future. As for the video issue, it's not a generic video issue. PPSSPP just can't play a single video near the end of the game. JPCSP can play the video but has other issues. Of course a real PSP has no problems at all. Fast Forward doesn't work on the videos. You can bypass them by pressing the X key but only if you have seen them before.
  12. Like the title says I localized the PSP version of Planetarian. I took the translated text directly from the windows version and I edited pictures, video, menus, etc. You can get the patch here and a pre-patched iso here. You can check my site here. Obviously you'll need a PSP with custom firmware to play it. Unfortunately it doesn't work well with the current emulators. With JPCSP I had minor sound problems and serious font problems that make it unreadable! With PPSSPP I had sound and video problems, which make the game un-finishable! It can't play the last video (30 lines before the end). To be more precise it plays the video at 1 frame per minute, which took, in my computer, 12 hours and 20 minutes to play a 54 second video! Finally, I would like to publicly thank Nanashi3 for his invaluable hacking help!
  13. Hi, I'm trying to find the text for the Japanese PSP game Tsugi no Giseisha o Oshirase Shimasu Houkaisuru Sekai ni Shinigami to. I'm kinda new to this, so any help would be appreciated. The format seems somewhat standard and is similar to Gakuen Hetalia Portable for the PSP. In the USRDIR I have 4 files. Data.Dat, STS.DAT, STS.MAO, STS_DEF.TOB Data.DAT has a PSPFS_V1 header which I can unpack with a script for quickbms. The unpacked files are dat, vag, sp2, mbp, at3, bin. .vag are known audio files, .at3 are modified wav files, .sp2 are modified tga files, .mbp are definitely image files, .bin files are very very small .dat files are modified gzip files which I can unpack but they seem to contain more of the same files, that is mbp, sp2 etc. So where is the text? What am I missing here? I am starting to believe that the text is in STS.DAT but I can't go further than that. Any ideas? Thank you.
  14. Hi, I'm also interested in this hkki script editor, but I can't compile the source files. Is there anywhere I can download the executable? Thank you.
