  1. Facade, I know you probably don't hear this often (and I understand) but I've never been huge on Final Fantasy soundtracks. The Final Fantasy Prelude I liked quite a bit, but I just can't really paint a picture in my head from Final Fantasy songs....which is a key factor in the music I listen to: fantasy (ironic, eh?). It was a noble effort though. Undying, not to detract any thought you put into helping me but regarding the Ayakashibito songs you provided I am looking for instrumental songs (for the most part, though there are exceptions). I wasn't a huge fan of either, the second one was kinda nice however. At first I expected Blue Bird Lamentation to just be solely music box (not necessarily a bad thing at all), but I do like the progress it made through the song. I liked it a lot. I had never actually played Phoenix Wright games so I wasn't aware that the soundtrack was so good (based on what you provided)! I'm curious as to if there's a remastered edition of the soundtrack or not, that would be awesome. I tried out Fate/Stay Night's soundtrack a few nights ago actually, with decent success. Thanks for reminding me about it. Regarding Muv Luv, while I am a fan of the soundtrack I'm not in love with it. Technically it's really quite good but I don't feel anything special from it. Mbl, what a unique theme choice for a visual novel! I looked up a few songs on Youtube and I must say, what I heard was really neat. I've never been a huge fan of Celtic-esque music but the fact that there's a visual novel with Celtic (or maybe simply Irish/Scottish....) music in it is really cool, and they are good songs for what it's worth. If I wasn't such a picky person when it comes to music I would quickly snatch that up. Ennui, Futuri, London Night, Something Good Will (is that the full song name?), Golden Afternoon, and Let's Hold Hands quickly got mental thumbs-up though.
  2. Ayana, the first track was incredible, had some amazing parts with a great melody. The second one was a bit odd...not my favorite, but it was nice. I don't know how I felt about the electronic sound. The third one seemed pretty plain-Jane-piano, but it was lovely in that sense. The first one was by far my favorite though. The piano riff(?) that appeared throughout was what did it, along with the ending. I'll look into that soundtrack if I can find the entire collection. Erogamer, that was one of my favorites as well! What I do is get a soundtrack and weed out the songs that I'm not too fond of. That was easily a keeper. Edwd2, The flute in the first one nearly turned me off but the guitar itself and its melody along with the beat and piano made it great. Glad I stuck it out another....few seconds, lol. The second track was plain-Jane until the stringed instruments came into play. Hapymaher was one of the VN soundtracks I had trouble finding though. I REALLY love how the third track progressed. Definitely fit into that "cute" group, along with a great melody. Great, now I'm gonna have to see if I can find the soundtrack to that one as well! The work is real. Thanks again to everyone so far, I really do appreciate the help!
  3. I actually took a full listen-through of Ever17 a couple days ago. I definitely liked the first several songs (and a few scattered), but yeah eventually they became a little too dark for my taste. The ones I did like are pretty charming (notably the songs you posted). They're simple songs but they're great background noise (a goal of mine). EDIT: Managed to dig up the entire Umineko no Naku Koro ni soundtrack, so far so pretty darn good. Lots of great tracks, I looooove Happiness of Marionette.
  4. NieR has a really solid soundtrack, but for some reason I just can't get into it. I know, it's weird. I guess chanting isn't my thing. Don't get me wrong I like it, but I wouldn't listen to it on my mp3 player. Just found the soundtrack of "Yume Miru Kusuri". Delightfully jazzy with acoustic guitars and it has a warm aura to it.
  5. Oh yes, I have several songs from Clannad. I love how diverse the soundtrack is, just like Rewrite and Little Busters. KEY makes a good sounding visual novel! Haha, and I had heard that Saya no Uta has a good soundtrack but I saw what the novel was about and I was like "...Probably not what I'm looking for..". That was a good track though, I may have to research more on it. EDIT: Oof, nevermind on the Saya no Uta soundtrack. WAY too dark...and knowing the story doesn't help.
  6. Thanks to everyone who has replied so far, I appreciate it. It's tough for me to find full soundtracks for most of these though, I don't speak/read any Japanese and Googling and Youtube'ing something like "Evolimit soundtrack" doesn't yield many results that I can work with. It's the case with a LOT of Visual Novels. Clephas, all three of yours were pretty solid from what I gathered, shame that Evolimit has very short tracks. Decay, I loved the constant rhythm (not sure what instrument that would be....) in the first track, and what was led up to in the third track. The second one was nice and low-key. Eldritch, I liked the first track a LOT. Nice steady headnodic beat accompanied by violins...cool! The second one was pretty neat as well, not my favorite. Same with the third track, though less so. The third one was just eh....I dunno, it just didn't agree with me too well. Monmon, The first song was very peaceful! The second one had a nice (kind of odd) aura about it. I like the guitar that was used. Sirius, I had actually listened to most of Narcissus' soundtrack a couple days ago. I liked a good bit of it, with my favorite being Roaring Elevated Railway 2007.
  7. Hey everyone, brand new here (though I have lurked for a few weeks now). Nice to meet'cha! So, I'm incredibly picky when it comes to music. It's tough for me to find stuff I really like, but within the last year or so I've found a few visual novels that have met my music needs. I'm really into ambient, melodic tunes that usually involve an electronic beat (this is not 100% the case but usually), though instead of an electronic beat having the right melody and plenty of instruments can work in a pinch. "Cute" songs I guess, as long as they're instrumental. If anyone could recommend me some visual novel soundtracks, that would be fantastic. I'll give a few soundtrack examples, though one of them is not part of a visual novel...it just summarizes what I like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygur5AaVzgA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJ80LpIu4ZQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoJ8vdmrB-Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aekf7oFGjPU (Nights: Into Dreams- The Amazing Water.....couldn't get this to "Media" for some reason) Much thanks for any help! EDIT: I realize I was being kinda vague in the sense that I posted a calm song, an upbeat song, a calm song, and then another upbeat song. I should mention that I like both but tend to gravitate towards upbeat songs more (but several calm songs are among my favorite songs of all time such as Raised Bed). Oh and a headnodic beat is almost a must unless in that "calm" category. I seek novelty!
