  1. *I regularly have to google acronyms and abbreviations because for the life of me I cant read shorthand.

    ^This makes me feel old.

    *I largely dislike H-scenes

*The sexualization (not sure if thats even a word, but whatever) of loli's gives me the skeeve's (I enjoyed Mayuki's route in Comyu till the inevitable H-scenes).

*I can't watch porn because I constantly think about how uncomfortable it would be to have sex in those positions.

*I cry during the sad parts of movies and games, but I cant cry in response to anything in RL.

*I'm told Im the worst person to ride with in a car because I back seat drive incesantly, so I'm always the driver.

*I'm negatively biased against blonde heroines in VN's because of a bad relationship with a blonde in RL.

  2. Yep. Sure his voice is gruff, but you're not gonna get that tone with screaming yourself hoarse. Ive known some guys who'll smoke, take shots, or eat something salty before going on stage to make there voices sound more rough or gutteral though.

I'd find it more likely that he sings a good portion of his set list before performing just so his voice wears out a bit.

  3. Do you like the catch phrases and static character traits Atlus assigned to these characters from Arena and in the anime? If so, you'll love the game. If not... you'll find yourself enjoying the gameplay, but hating the characters. Akihiko is fucking moronic now and Aigis misunderstands ALL THE THINGS

Playing Arena and watching the Anime just made me want to play Pers4 again, which I then did instead of finishing either. So no, I did not enjoy those much.

  4. Being unemployed absolutely blows.

I had to drop out of college due to financial reasons, leaving almost 3 years worth of credits on the table. I'm vehemontly against the concept of borrowing money, so I paid for most of the college I did get out of pocket. Having been a shit student in High School all of it was paid for without the use of scholarship money. After going on and off as my financial situtation allowed, I stopped going altogether 2 years ago figuring I could make it without a degree.

Of all the jobs Ive had since I started working back in High School, only one (One!) payed what I would consider to be a decent living wage. I got hired on as a supervisor on a truck dock making 17.50/Hr. I loved the work, even though working outside in the coldest winter in living memory was a b**** and the hours were long (10-12 hour shifts). Unfortuatly I had to give up what was basically a dream job for someone like me because upper management decided I wasnt onside with them because I wasnt being a dick to my workers like they were. Since then the only work Ive gotten was as a bartender, and Ive got zero prospects of solid employement on the horizon.

I hate hate HATE the fact that a 4 year degree is almost the minimum required education to get by in life, considering how hard it is for kids and people like myself in poorer economic postions to actually afford it. I hope all of you who have the opportunity to finish school do so regaurdless of how much you may hate it now or how much work it is. Believe me when I say its so much better than the alternative of sweating it out, hoping someone takes a chance on you, knowing every other person who applies for the job you did either has a 4 year degree or 10 to 20 years work experience on you.

  5. I sunk so many hours into the Nobunaga's Ambition and ROTK games. I think Ive still got about 5 of them total.

Ill third the Shogun 2 suggestion. If you get the Fall of the Samurai DLC its like getting a whole new game as well.

The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Kessen 3 for the PS2. Kessen 1 ostensibly deals with The Battle of Sekigahara, but really goes of the rails in terms of historical accuracy. Kessen 3 sticks closer to the source material until about two-thirds of the way through the game, and is overall a much better game. Ill post again if I can find a youtube clip or something.

  6. You kidding me? The Battlefield series and Sim City was a catastrophe. Sim City was probably one of the worst releases ever. They are winning the prestigious award "Worst company ever" almost every year.

Having played both of the first iterations of those series (Simcity and Battlefield 1942) having EA wreck both franchises hurts my inner child. Dragon Age might be the only thing of theirs I still shell out for now.

I do, indeed. I haven't bought any JPN releases lately, though, and I'm buying my ENG stuff digitally.

I see that a you have a couple pairs of what looks to be the same game. Are those fan discs or something else? I may be massively giving myself away as a bit of a noob when it comes to physical merch, but whatever. I think the last hard copy of a game that I bought was Skyrim, because I wanted a hard copy of the map.

  8. ( i tend to devote 10+ hours in a sitting towards rpgs of this caliber).

I think most gamers have that moment where you realize you've just commited silly hours playing one game in a single sitting.

I do love it but it really is time to move on.

Are you not gonna touch PS5 when it comes out then? Im not sure if Im gonna touch any of these spinoffs, but I still plan on playing PS5 when it comes out.

  9. Agreed on all points (especially Hikage).  Sadly I won't be playing it till Christmas but it's tied with first thing to play along with Persona Q.

I'm really happy that the SMT series, Persona in particular, is getting so much attention these days. Especially considering it looked like the whole Atlus brand was going under with Index for a bit. Im just terrified that it may turn into another FF series if it gets too succesful.

  10. As someone who has never played the series, I've been really tempted to pick it up on Steam. There's just so many games this month, I know it will be awhile before I'll get into it.

I don't know anything about the quality of the porting job, but it was easily one of my favorite games on the PS3. Can't recomend it enough.

  11. I thought the whole vn was pretty average to be honest. All of 2 routes worth reading + Negligable art assets + The transformation of a legitimately horrifying life experience into an unintentional running joke + Benio makes it impressive that the VN wasnt outright bad. Speaks volumes to the quality of the rest of the work.

I also found Izawa to be the most compelling character in the story. Wish he would have gotten a little more face time.
