  1. Hmmm...

Since you seem to be fine with almost whatever, I have a few recommendations  (that are in no way just me typing some of my own favorites...):

G-senjou no Maou: Imagine the mind games of Death Note, but without the supernatural elements. It has a strong story, well-written characters, It also has a few VERY good plot twists. If you are familiar with classical music, you might recognize most of the BGM, since it's heavily based on famous classical pieces. On terms of Lighthearted/serious, it lies mostly towards the serious side.

Hoshizora no memora: A story about a promise... (and also about a few more events). It has no particular "strong point", but is  consistently great in terms of story, music, and characterizations. The artwork is also very enjoyable.

I chose two that are around "middle length", so if you'd like you could try them out.

I also recommed Kaguya's list 50 translated VNs you should read before you die

I actually already downloaded the first one! I just haven't gotten to it yet. The second one I'll check out, as well as that list ~ Thanks so much for the recommendations :D

  2. What are you looking for in a VN? Slice-of-life? Thriller? Drama? Do you want it to be tragic or lighthearted?

Give me your preferences, and I will give you a number of VNs (translated, of course.) that you might like.

This is always a hard thing to answer because I like so much xD I usually like slice-of-life, romance, supernatural, horror/thriller. I'm open to pretty much anything but I'd say those I listed are probably the ones I enjoy the very most. As for tragic or light hearted I kind of like a balance. I like relative realism in that I want there to be a mix of good and bad, lightness and dark if that makes sense. I don't want something that's too obnoxiously lighthearted but nothing that's gonna make me want to hurl myself off of a bridge either.

  3. So, do you take recommendations?

I most certainly do! If you have any suggestions then I'm completely open to hearing about them ~ In truth I prefer getting suggestions rather than just looking around by myself.

  4. Thanks for the welcome, guys(or girls or gender neutral folk, what have you)! And thanks for the compliment on my name as well. I find it quite nice, too.

@Katatsumuri - Right now I'm in the process of Shinigami no Kiss wa Wakare no Aji which I just kinda downloaded as it was the first thing I saw xD I admit I'm not entirely sure where to start with it all so I just kinda went with the first link I managed to find.

  5. -waves shyly- Hi! Uhm I'm not entirely sure where to start as I'm quite terrible at such things so I suppose I'll introduce myself. Hi! I'm Anastasia. I'm quite new to the idea of VN's and such as I wasn't aware such things were really accessible in English so I was quite pleased when I stumbled upon this site. I figured I'd try to immerse myself here to find out more about all this stuff and...Idk talk to people?

I guess that's really all I have to say at the moment. Please excuse my complete lack of forum-joining etiquette!
