Was happy when I saw the reviews blog pick up some steam as well, up to >200 views, from sitting just below 100.

Wow I didn't know that there's a lot of Filipinos here.

    MABUHAY KABABAYAN!

  2. I'd recommend Aselia and Muv-Luv the most out of my suggested titles. Muv-Luv Alternative (the sequel) is pretty much a must read if you like VNs anyway. The "transportation" part only comes to play in the second half of Muv-Luv and in Alternative though.

Aselia isn't super great or anything but I'd recommend that over Koihime any day.

Muv luv and Muv luv alternative without a doubt.

As the thing your are looking for is a intergral part of the character development of the protag.

The only bad thing is that in order to fully understand Muv Luv alternative you first have to play Muv Luv extra and unlimitted (same game, different story's) (basically two prequals)

And while unlimited is pretty decent extra can be a bit meh.

But alternative is without a doubt worth it. (it is without a doubt one of the best vn's out there, and probably the best in the sci fi category)

Ive been saving the Muv Luv series till later I heard that they take a lot of time to finish and I don't have a lot of free time right now.

I think I'll play it once I have a summer vacation.

Right now I'm looking for some dumb fun and light-hearted novels to pass time away.

Other than that Thank you for your help!

  3. It depends on what you are looking for, there are a lot of different ways you can go with this vague of a starting point. Whether you were interested in romance, or adventure, or gameplay ect. would change my suggestion. There are a lot more games that use this trope in many genres (for both protag and heroines), I suggested two fantasy VNs because that seemed to me most likely what you were looking for since you mentioned "Game worlds".

If fantasy is what you are looking for, then Kiohime Musou if you're interested in a war story based off the romance of three kingdoms or Duel Savior if you are looking for more standard fantasy adventuring.

It's fine. Standard animu fantasy plot and character with pretty good gameplay. Wouldn't top my list anywhere, apart for maybe this thread, as I was never too into Eien no Aselia.

Thanks man. I'm going to play Koihime right away!

  4. Eien no Aselia/Aselia the Eternal, you can buy it from Jast.

There's also Duel Savior which I haven't read but it doesn't look very good.

And Seinarukana which is the sequel to Aselia, it's going to be released by Jast in english soonish.

    And... uh... Muv-Luv I guess.

It's a common animu trope, you can find it all over the place in any medium, I'm surprised to not see a tag for it on VNDB. Koihime Musou and Dual Savior are both VNs where everyday protagonist gets sent to fantasy world and goes on adventures.

On the things you mentioned, which one do you guys recommend the most?

  5. Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy your stay!

You should read Planetarian if you haven't already, it's even on Steam!

    Have a moe:

I have a feeling that Planetarian has heavy drama so I'm a bit afraid to read it  .

    Btw I love that moe

  6. I wrote this story when I was on High school 2008. I hope you enjoy this.

    My Band

My band was just plainly horrible not until one day we were playing in bar and I know after this gig the band is going to break out because no one have musical ideas that could help us climb to success. After our last set I saw a fine gentleman smiling in front of us and slowly approached as he bid as a good evening. The gentleman told us that we have a potential to become one of the great bands, All of us started to laugh as the mysterious gentleman speak, we all know that we don’t have any potential to become a great band and were only good for a drunk mouse. Our drummer said that this really a bad joke because the band is about to break up after the gig. The gentleman seem to be serious about what he said, he give us a contract to sign on and he said that if we signed the deal we will become one of the biggest music acts on the history, a offer we can’t refuse. We immediately signed the contract without reading the terms and the stranger gives us farewell and said that after 2 days a man will contact us about our first record deal. 2 days later while we were jamming a man interrupts us and says that he is a producer for a great recording label and gives us a key to an apartment, money to buy new gears and instrument, he also give us schedules for the recording of our first album. We were shocked and asked him why he gave us these opportunities. He simply smiled and said a friend of him said that we have the potential.

On the given date of the recording we have no idea what to do. The mysterious gentleman appears and told us that there is no going back now, and then out of the blue we produced 16 great compositions and songs without broad knowledge about what we are doing. A few days later our album has been released and it became an instant classic, a few more days later we found ourselves touring around the world with sold out tickets and full venues, months later we found ourselves receiving critical awards and nominations. This buzz continued for 25 years straight. On our 25th year anniversary the mysterious gentleman approached us and said that he wants our souls now we reached the end of the bargain we laugh for a while and as always the man seems so serious he wants to kill us in front of our friends and families. He shoved us the contract we signed 25 years ago and he said that read the terms, we asked our friends and families to leave us for a while because we will have a band meeting and we need some privacy, as we read the terms its listed that we will have skills that we will need to become a great band, we will have what we need when we want it, and lastly our souls exchanged for our needs. We became pale, cold and shocked about what we brought ourselves into. The gentleman seems to read our mind and explains what happened he said that he’s looking for trash bands that have no future and give it a contract that they can’t refuse, he also explained that he’s a devil known as the contractor and his task was to find ways to spread the word of Satan on various forms. He gave us another year to spend the last days of our life to the fullest and forced me to write this brief history about us, and I’m sorry if you have to read this but there’s a curse in this story and whoever reads this will spend his afterlife on hell with us and other bands that took the deal.

I’m looking forward to see you here, and again I’m sorry for writing this but by reading this you only have a week or less to live so go and be happy!

    I bid you farewell!

  7. The existence of Steam could have skewed the DRM results.  A lot of people, myself included, seem to have rated Steam as a high distribution thing.  Since Steam technically counts as DRM, wanting games on steam = being alright with light levels of DRM.  It's a trade-off, at least from what I can tell.

I don't really have much else to say, though.  :P

Steam is the reason that I got into Visual Novels. Without steam people like me will be left on the dark.

  8. Woah.. 7 out of that 9 of that list is also on my list, lol, but I can tell you that Im already done with dengeki stryker(it was really good and I enjoyed it alot, but it took me like 60-70 hours to play through all routes and skipping the text that I had already read), I played a little bit Kamidori( like a good 40-50 hours) before I put it on hold because I had other things to do, I'm currently reading Muv-Luv Trilogy( book 2 of 3). Kamidori and Daibanchou will all take like 200+ hours for full completion...my rough estimate. Dra+koi is really short but there is no BGM, but it should take a couple of days, or even 1 day if you marathon it.I'm still waiting on the Majikoi patch....and...F/SN is a classic, really long as well... as for the other two...meh..error 404, not enough action involved...but I can see we both enjyo action VN, anyways...moving on to the proper thing, Welcome to the Forums! Enjoy your stay :D

Welp I better have a lot of free time to finish reading all in my list!
