What is a "good" H-scene.

Well I think most VNs fail at making the transition because the characters are usually all sweet innocent virgin girls who don't even know what the male genitalia looks like and when the sex happens and they're suddenly all into it it feels off, but to be honest I've just accepted this as typical hentai and don't care much about it anymore and I don't think there's any other way around it. Like you said, if it's eroi it's eroi.

Funny enough I've met a 19 year old girl who didn't know what the male genitalia looked like either, so I guess it is possible to find a super innocent girl in real life given the right circumstances, and yes I am using past tense for this, and no I wasn't the one who changed the situation.

Honestly, unless 1. it's a character I really like, or 2. the scene is particularly attractive for whatever reason, I don't usually read the H-scenes unless I'm in the mood for them. In story-based VNs, they tend to break the flow of the story in most cases, so I don't always read them (unless I'm visiting the scene selection gallery after I unlock the scene, in which case it has my full attention  :makina: ). Even when I do read them while reading the VN, I rarely read the whole scene, and tend to skip the text if the writing isn't very good.

That said, if it's a nukige, then it would weird not to read the H-scenes (although I skip the ones with fetishes I don't really care for). Of course I read those.

I need a H-scene to portray the woman in a way that's not totally degrading... Which seems to be a lot to ask since this is something most eroges fail to do in my experience. Unless of course it's a rape scene but those scenes are usually not made for the crowd to 'enjoy' them...

I also prefer scenes with characters that love each other  :sachi:

H-scenes for the sake of porn are usually boring except when it reveals a new side of a character (ex: a shrinking violet being dominant) or makes you think "They are really in love" are ok.

And nukige scenes need to be exciting and dirty or there won't be different from a normal vn.

In my opinion, it's a scene which helps move forward the plot in some way, not just an excuse for porn. Of course, this only applies to story-focused stuff.

Agreed. To get to the purpose of a good h-scene, just figure out what the purpose of a scene is then just apply to a scene involving sex.

not sure if i should honestly answer this

edit: its MOSTLY sufficient for me if there´s a good amount of peropero chupachupa included & please a seiju who DOENST sound like a horse on crack, as thats a huuuuge turnoff for me (sadly it happens in every 3rd vn though)

The vast majority of eroge has badly written sex scenes anyway and it happens for a reason. There's just a bunch of titles, that managed to pull off erotic content in a different way, remaining aesthetically encouraging whilst retaining it's function to please the readers; even then, little can be considered someting more than shallow entertainment and the line between sacrum and profanum is incredibly thin.

I used to think just good sex, both showing each other love and enjoying themselves, and not too drawn out are good.

Well I still think that.

But H-scenes for Haruka and Kanata in LBEX stood out for me as going above and beyond that by showing another psychological of the participants (no not just showing love)

So that's now my criteria for a terrific and fantastic H-scene.

I might be a bit picky but; I prefer the h-scene in a VN to mean something special, the visualisation of the romance between the main character and the heroine. It would be optimal if there was only 1 special scene per heroine, or multiple with a decent amount of story in between, just to keep them special. My optimal H-scene would be with either no voices or everything voiced (main character included). The transition between normal conversation and a h-scene should be smooth. I also agree that they shouldn't be talking too much, and imo they shouldn't be writing out all those "uh.. ahh.. ughh... ohh" if it's voiced.
