What is a "good" H-scene.

Please, this is an existential question i have yet to answer it...because i often see people arguing about how bad or how good a H-scene is, the question is...what do make an H-scene, basically sex, interesting, good or bad?

How do you consider an H-scene well writen? What are the things you expect from an H-scene? And Finally...why do i ask such questions today?

I expect an H-scene to make my nether region feel something, nothing more and nothing less.

Imo most h-scenes are all cliche and written the same way, what differs is wether or not the description managed to "pike my interest" and if the on screen imagery looked good.

Sure you can argue it's relevant to the plot, i personally don't care much, i just don't want it to be nonsensical.

In my opinion, it's a scene which helps move forward the plot in some way, not just an excuse for porn. Of course, this only applies to story-focused stuff.

In a nukige, for example, a good sex scene is (do remember that my opinion is the objective truth) heavy S&M play that doesn't sound too ridiculous.

For me the most important thing is imagery. As long as the girl is hot and the art looks good, I don't really care about the script. Well, I guess VA quality also makes a big difference, moreso than what's actually being said. I also don't care if a scene is relevant to the story or not, if it isn't I can just go back to it later in the replay mode.

Another really important thing for me is that both (or all) parties are having a great time. Rape doesn't do anything for me. Best is when Protag-san just completely fucks the sense out of a heroine, in a good way.

As a last thing, I'm not quite as pessimistic as many people here when it comes to "all scenes are written in the same cliché way", I actually think there's quite a bit of variety in it.

Of course, none of this matters as long as there's ANAL

I would say good H-scene is something that fits in the ongoing story and is meaningful for character development.

For the contents it's hard to say, different people like different stuff, but I feel like there should be something more than just pandering to certain preferences.

Then again I don't use H-scenes to satisfy myself, so my interest is mostly in the story part. I wouldn't say H-scene is good because it fits my preferences, if it feels out of place I don't usually like it.

Still many of the most enjoyable H-scenes I've read comes from Sengoku Rance, so I'm not so sure myself.

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is enjoyable H-scene is not always good H-scene and good H-scene doesn't have to be enjoyable, if it fits the story.

Eh, varies from person to person, really.  I mean, I'm sure someone somewhere thought the F/SN h-scenes were good, even though I started crying from laughing so hard when I read them.

I like h-scenes with romance, so that pretty much rules out non-con and the like.  The heroine's voice acting plays a pretty big role in whether or not I like the h-scene, as does the CGs, obviously, but if the voice acting is average or bad, I just can't get into it.  The words they use to describe things during the scene can also kill the mood; F/SN was notorious for that, and I can think of several others that used weird or gross words to describe things.  I prefer when they're actually relevant to the plot, like Amane's in Grisaia no Kajitsu, but of course that's rather rare, unfortunately.

In terms of writing, I prefer that it be somewhere in the middle when it comes to how descriptive it is. So while, say, Air's scenes are an example of too little description, Eroge! from Clockup has so much (especially with the heroines constantly talking during sex, which is kind of a turn off) That it's not very enjoyable. Anything that's not at one of those extremes is fine, assuming that the art doesn't suck and the voice actresses aren't giving cringeworthy performances.

A good H-scene has enough buildup for me to buildup. Heh. Then it should also be long enough for me to finish my business, but not too long because reading the text after the deed is done usually isn't all that great. A good H-scene should also have appealing art and it's a big plus if it's not  the standard script with the reluctant females. Majikoi has mostly good H-scenes, My Girlfriend is the President also had some nice scenes. Bad scenes would be scenes from Kanon and other I only remember vaguely. But all H-scenes are better than none. Most of the time. At least half of the time.
