Embarassing moments with vns...

Most people think VN's are just porn so I don't play if know other people are around.

One day I shall play all my VN's on my Imac full volume, then another day in the future

when I upgrade (years from now computers are expensive yo) I shall play visual

novels on a 4K tv. Which will be pointless because Japan apparently doesn't know

resolutions above 1080p exist.

But still.

So, like, I spent a lot of my time as a second year in highschool playing Sengoku Rance.

I never bothered with hiding it from my brothers, so they know there's sex in it.

My brother, 6 years old back then, was asking me why they were doing it.

I just replied, "The protagonist is a pervert."

So one day, when I was boarding the train, I got a message from my mom.

It said something of this context:

"WHAT THE FUCK IS RANCE YOU HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO"

I was shocked. Holy shit. I didn't do anything that would give me away!

And so, time slowed down until I arrived home.

Of course, Mother was waiting for me. I tried to explain, but she was like 'lolnope there's sex'.

Apparently, the reason she discovered it was because my brother drew naked stick figures of Rance and Suzume before a generic sex scene, with Suzume's boobs apparently being two-dimensional. It also had the line, "Let's do erotic things!", so I was royally screwed.

She asked me to delete it, and I concurred.

...At least, not really.

To this day, I still have my copy of Sengoku Rance, and I will not delete it.

May others be blessed, not having brothers who draw erotic stick figures.

You should of just said:

You know what love I have to jack it to something so really back off kay.

Wanko to Kurasou actually includes a built-in panic button if you enable that function. Just right-click and the window will appear as though it is not responding (looks like a black background that is shaded grey). Such innovation!

Panic buttons are probably the greatest thing to grace the face of VN's. Due to my setup as I said before, I would have no need of it... but still.

Next level innovation right there.

The entire story just reminded me of how I used to play Sengoku Rance in the library at my High School next to my friend... who would also be playing Sengoku Rance. Good times those, good times. Oh yes... and how we got caught by the librarian.. who just gave us the most disapproving look I have ever seen.

Now it's in my bucket list to play through a h-scene with a home cinema system and a curved UHD TV.

I did have a bit of a moment when I was reading Muv-Luv Alternative, I was sitting in a chatroom with voice chat and video, and in the middle of a certain flashblack  someone asked me a question, thinking I had turned down the volume adequately I key up on the mic to answer, instantly everyones face kind of turned to shock and then uncontrollable laughter, it was a big woops moment lmao

for me, it's when i was still in the second year of highschool and one time i was given assignment to present some kind of slideshow to my class. and the last night i was reading G-senjou and at the H scene got sleepy. you know that feeling of drowsiness after you answered to the 'nature's call' don't you? I MINIMIZED it, and put my laptop to sleep. :amane:

the next day, i woke up and brought my laptop to the school, totally forgot about the g-sen. well, then. i plugged the projector's cable, turned it on. And realized the minimized g-sen, fug i totally got a hell of a cold sweat. i tried to think calmly and froze in front of the class for a while until my homeroom teach told me to act fast.

lol i opened the task manager and end process of the g-sen, with my monitor still projected to the whole class. i still get shivers if i think what would happen if i just idiotly put the laptop to sleep without minimizing the vn. Since i was quite social at the highschool, and no one knows that i watch, read, or play that kind of things.

note : there's one (or two i don't remember) of my 'otaku' classmate who was totally holding their laughter when i froze and fucking 'end process'ed the vn, whom i didn't got quite friendly with. you know that caste system of highschool (more like groups) where the same kinds feather flocks together, right? :makina:

till now i don't know why they were laughing, maybe it's because of the g-sen i killed, or maybe they were just laughing at the class' clown who was joking around.

but sometime after that, he asked me if i read manga or watch anime. and we get quite closer after that. medetashi medetashi.

:wahaha::wahaha::wahaha::wahaha::wahaha:

i really. really. really glad that i hadn't plugged the speaker's cable.

explain all the Sony 4k TVs....

Sony like many other manufacturers make 4k tv's.

My point is that textures are not designed for 4k. Its like upscaling 480p to 1080p it doesn't increase the original image quality.

If you don't get it your either a console pleb or a tard.

Or he doesn't know the history of VNs, and how incredibly long it took for them to release the first 1080p VNs. Even now, most are only 720p, and those have only been around for a few years except in rare cases. Japan's PC market caters to people with really outdated PC setups.

If that's true, then yet another way I'm in touch with all things Japanese :-)

On my desk is a CRT monitor, 800x600.  That's where I usually play these things.

I suppose that's an embarrassing moment of a different sort.

If I want to play something newer like Noble Works, I have to set it up in the living room (not too hard to do since I already have a PC in there to watch anime on)

Actually playing on the HDTV has kind of spoiled me, I may actually have to get a new monitor soon, but I'm resisting.  I could buy a new one at any time I wanted, but I am not quite normal: it's very hard for me to get rid of something that still works.

Oh god this is such a close call

I'm really discreet at hiding my power levels, so I didn't really have anything of this sort during my school years.

So you proved my point in saying how 4K isn't viable for gaming because games aren't designed in 4K and won't be for a long time.

Wow mate truly wow you could have just read my comment and not embarassed yourself.
