We'll work with it. A topic was moved here this evening called "FuwaDirectory" which tried to identify people who are currently working on projects or the site itself. It's not perfect, but it's functional enough that I wanted to get it out the door so I can focus on more important stuff. I'd love to get a little feedback from anybody with the time and inclination to opine: Do you think this is helpful? The pictures don't look great. I get it -- I didn't have photoshop installed on this computer and so the best I could do was normalize image height. But do you like the idea of having semi-up-to-date avatars in the directory? If anybody wants to dream up a standardized "icon" template (maybe a frame in a transparent PNG?) I'd be happy to reformat the pictures Any suggestions for how to improve it? EDIT: I didn't include some of Ren's projects specifically because I wanted to talk to him, first. A lot of his best work is meant to be a personal project and users too often interpret it as a community project. About the avatars, I'm not sure it's a great idea since some people change avatars a lot But if you wanna try it out go ahead. I'm much more curious about all those teams to come you mention there, but I won't comment before knowing what you intend to do with them. A lot of his best work is meant to be a personal project and users too often interpret it as a community project. nohman Posted December 31, 2014 Share Posted December 31, 2014 The only improvement I could think of was maybe linking to each person's profile page so that they're easier to get in contact with, but that's a lot of legwork for so little pay off when you consider they can just use the search bar to find the member they're looking for. As for feedback, I certainly like the idea. I'm a fan of clicking images so... I dunno if it's possible what with the avatars constantly changing but you could also make the images link to the profile? Sure! Use them GM permissions and set up the links, Tiag! ..... Oh yes, I was aware there was some magical way to make the avatars change themselves, but I didn't know what it was. Thank you very much. I'll go about updating the images. I'll also update the actual post, let us hope I don't break too many things. Edit: Brain circuits just caught up, this would mean changing the image sizes since Tay fiddled with them doesn't it? This is very helpful, half the people on Fuwanovel don't know who does what. 10 thumbs up (I'm not a mutant, but I'll borrow the thumbs from someone who is. I know a guy.) [1] Yes I realise I argued strongly, and perhaps borderline offensively, to keep the the 'Like' limit to 10 earlier in the year, and this isn't me changing my opinion either. Yes! apparently they found a way to link the direct avatar so that it will update accordingly~ If anybody wants to dream up a standardized "icon" template (maybe a frame in a transparent PNG?) I think the only workable choice is that the avatar icons won't be updated each time someone changes their avatar : P. Only when the staff members change or maybe for holiday spirit.
