Anyone else play it? http://www.blankmediagames.com It's basically Mafia on steroids. The game starts with 15 players and everyone is assigned one of 30 different roles, all of which have a different ability. Obviously there's the mafia, but the members of the mafia can be anything from an ordinary Mafioso, a Godfather who, rather than having the Mafiosos vote to decide whom to kill, can give the order to kill someone, or a Disguiser who swaps places with the person the mafia kills. The town has support roles such as the Escort whose target can't do anything during the night or the Medium who can speak to the dead, investigative roles such as the Sheriff who can determine if someone is suspicious or not or the Spy who can hear the mafia's conversations during the night, and even killing roles such as the Vigilante who can chose a person to shoot at night, but commits suicide the next night if he shoots someone who was innocent or the Veteran who can decide to go on alert and kill everyone, friend or foe, who visits him. And finally there are a few neutral roles, who mostly win independently from the town and the mafia, such as the Jester whose only goal is to get lynched, the Serial Killer who kills someone every night similarly to but independently from the mafia, and the Witch who can control a target and cause them to target whomever you wish with whatever ability they have, although you don't know what that ability, if any, is. And these are only a few examples of the roles, like I said there are a total of 30. What I'm trying to say is it's free so there's no reason to play at least a couple of games, and odds are you'll like it. Just make sure you play Classic first as it's more straightforward. hilbi Posted December 25, 2014 Share Posted December 25, 2014 This game is awesome, but there are too many people playing this game that don't understand logic or go trolling And yeah, imo escort is fairly weak. High chance of roleblocking townie unless you have proof after some nights. It was really fun when we played it together (we both have the best poker faces I swear!) First game I played I was the SK... and my friend was none the wiser. I actually managed to be the last one standing in that case. Pretty good first impression. I really need to try and get into that game more, 'cause it was super fun. ^^ It's really fun even on your own, but it's even better with friends since you can just lie to each other all game or if you're feeling nasty troll other people by working together. Most games I just go as Erika and roleplay her in my will. My favourite time was when I got SK and wrote down every night as "investigated x, I can confirm that he is dead". Flutterz Posted January 18, 2015 Author Share Posted January 18, 2015 Had a few great games recently, here are the ones I remember: - One game we had 3-5 transporters (not sure because only two died and I was one more, but two other people also claimed transporter) and a single arsonist. That's it. No mafia, no sk, nothing. But all we could do was random lynch people because investigative roles were useless. Sheriffs see arsonists as not suspicious and even if an investigator managed to investigate the person they were trying to (and then know about it, since you are never told that your target was switch), he'd see both arsonists and transporters as "smells of gas". We did eventually hang the bastard. - Another game I was an executioner and I tried to pretend to be sheriff to get my target lynched, but he died after 2 days, so I continued pretending to be sheriff to get myself lynched since I became a jester. Finally the mafia got the majority vote and lynched me. I guess you could say the joke was on them. B) - Just today I admitted to being the survivor from the start, and the single mafioso, serial killer and later amnesiac turned serial killer, and werewolf seemed to believe me and didn't attack me. When only the werewolf was left the town put me on trial but me pleading for my life saved me. The very next night the werewolf anticlimactically left the game and I got the achievement for surviving without using a single vest. Flutterz Posted March 8, 2015 Author Share Posted March 8, 2015 Played a game yesterday, got Mayor and it was really late so I wasn't talking much. Miraculously I managed to get to the point where there were only 4 other people left and one was the arsonist without revealing, and he had to kill someone every other night or the game would end in a draw. Finally, when he burned a person and there were 2 of them left, I wrote a pompous speech into the chat, revealed, and hung both of them (the first was a townie, we had no investigative roles).
