confession: IM GAY.   Okay, im not gay, im bisexual, but I have fallen in love with another guy for the first time ever and its mutual. its pretty wierd tbh, but it feels really great,

Confession: I was one with the puns today.  We went out whale watching, and for a period of five minutes or so, I only responded to people with pretty awful sea-related puns, like "I a-grebe", "I need

Confession:

I'm playing games again, which means my concentration for other stuff has been reduced to a 4th. Oh joy.

Yeah, that happened to me as soon as I started playing EVE. I've been jumping between games a lot lately, but I think I may actually stick with this for a while.

Oh btw, I remember someone talking to me about Bernie Sanders some time ago. I take back everything I said about this election term being mediocre, this guy has some serious potential for being the leader the US desperately needs. He has my vote for sure.

Anyone familiar with Family Guy? Seth MacFarlane is endorsing him too!

Three true confessions:

(alternatively please inform us of the circumstances surrounding these confessions)

The first two are surprisingly boring job-related things. The then-governor of Hawaii thought an ad campaign I worked on had made a mockery of the people and traditions of his state, so he made a big announcement that the team and I were persona non grata there. Just trying to score a few political points, really. Same goes for the second one: a random senator attacked a different campaign I'd directed, and said a few choice words about what an awful person I must be.

I do a lot of work for regulated industries — alcohol, tobacco, pharma, finance, etc — if that explains anything.

The last one is still a mystery to me. First year of college, there was a late-evening Student Council meeting. (I was VP of the incoming class.) There were about a dozen of us, and we were the last people in the Student Union. At some point, someone says, "Um, do you smell smoke?" And yes, yes we did. Another person heads down the hall to see what's up, then comes back two minutes later, white as a sheet. "Guys, we have to get out now. Go now." We ran downstairs, saw the situation I described — burning building, blocked exits, cut fire hoses — and started looking for a way out. Eventually, we found a back door that was unblocked and only kinda sorta on fire. Someone got that open, we jumped over the flames, and out into safety.

The police never figured out who did it or why they targeted us. I suspect a yandere.

Holy fuck lol, that fire thing would've haunted me.

Anyway, I just something I hadn't done in too long.

I studied.

I sat down and studied.

It was probably not for even 15 minutes. Maybe it was closer to five. I don't know. I didn't cover much ground. Not sure if all (any) of it even got in my head.

I studied.

Without anyone telling me or forcing me, I sat down and studied.

I hadn't been doing that... for almost a year at this point.

Can it be...  change?

Confession: Whenever I step out into bright sunlight, I sneeze. Every time. There should be a silicone bracelet to support my plight for this.

How does this even work

Photic Sneeze Reflex. For some reason, some people (like me and Kiriririri) have a sneezing fit that triggers when we step into bright sunlight.

Yay, now I know the name for this! I have it too.

Confession: I'm doing a bit of work this weekend, and even worse I see other coworkers working this weekend, and that always makes me feel like we've failed as a team...

So, basically, you're the main character of the upcoming anime adaptation of Thank You For Smoking.

All right Fuwanovel, the holiday season is fast approaching and I just thought of an awesome idea for all of the members that frequent the confession's thread on a regular basis.

For the past year or so, members in this thread have opened up to one another in a lot of different ways. While it may not feel like this to some of you, I definitely think this thread has become a safe haven for those who experience problems in your life or just feel like getting something off your chest. It warms my heart to see so many people be accepting of each other, and while there have been moments where joking is a must, for the most part I can tell that everyone genuinely cares about the people who come here. As such, I wanted to do something special for all of you.

I think we should host an exchange of words in the form of a secret Santa activity. Essentially speaking, everyone who wants to participate would be allowed to write some heartfelt messages to one another in secret and send them to me via PM/email/Skype before a certain deadline. I would then take your secret message or messages (you can totally write as many as you'd like) and read them to everyone during a live Christmas stream (where yes, I would dress up like Santa Claus). I of course would keep names anonymous, and everyone could enjoy a little holiday spirit and confidence boost.

The reason I want to do this is because I feel it's a good way to thank everyone for all of the amazing respect this thread has created. Opening up to people (even if it is the internet) is tough, and I think this a great way to have a little fun while doing it.

Alright, big confession time. Some might say this is too personal to be posting on the internet, whilst I am not just another  4chan person, hidden behind the veil of anonimity.

Today marks the second anniversary of the day I tried to do something about my unhappiness. The fact I am still here, writing this post, should give you enough clues as to how that ended up.

Not sure how to feel about that. Things haven't gotten worse, but they haven't gotten much better either. If anything, things are more "stable", since I've entered a routine with some degree of normality. However, the problems still lie there, dormant, waiting for the next time I am forcefully ripped out of my comfort zone by Ms. Life and have nothing to keep me afloat. I do not know if that would be good or bad honestly.

Keep yourself strong if you can.  Find something to anchor yourself to that you can be proud of.  Writing, drawing, an art you can excel at or a hobby you can immerse yourself in, preferably both.  From there you can keep yourself improving and push through when things go sour.

I hope to see you succeed in the coming years.  I have faith in you.

In two years, you've gone from "knowing" to "not being sure if you know". Progress. You'll get there.

Taking yourself out of your comfort zone is a double edged sword. It can either give you the fortune you desire, or it can fall apart and make you upset. As long as you continue to not make change in your life, nothing in your life will ever change unless you get lucky. But if there's one thing I've learned over time is that miracles are too rare to be relied on. If you want to succeed in life, you need to make goals for yourself and stick to them. Make a plan to meet your goals. If your plan doesn't work, change the plan, don't change your goals. Ambitious goals require a lot of time to meet them; you're never gonna amount to anything if all you do is change your mind. Make sure that what you pursue in life is the best possible course of action for you to take. If you're not sure what you want to do, think very long and hard about it. Thanks to the internet, you have nearly unlimited access to resources so that you can help you think about your life's ambition. Take your time to learn this; think about how much you can achieve over the course of your lifetime if you simply invest a few days, a week, or even a month of research into deciding on your goals. The potential is tremendous!

Another thing you need to be careful of is letting your emotions get the better of you. By nature, human beings are very emotional. It can drive us to overcome physical limitations, inspire creativity, and to live by more than just practical means. At the same time, it can also create fear and depression. We let ourselves get overwhelmed by such emotions and fall into a state of laziness. Overcoming negative emotion is not an easy process, but in order for you to proceed with your goals, you need to learn to conquer your emotions and not let them take control of you. But if you find that you can't do it through your own efforts, seek help. In order to be able to overcome tough obstacles on your own, you need to be tough, and you need to be disciplined. The mind is a very complex thing, and not everyone is capable of being strong. In many cases, however, collective effort can accomplish so much more than individual effort. If you need encouragement to do what you need to do, find a friend who is willing to do it. Getting treatment from a mental health specialist can work wonders for improving your state of mind.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I've actually been going to therapy for nearly two years now as well (started soon after that eventful night). My therapist says I may not realise it, but I've made small improvements recently that show how I've made progress that may seem insignifcant for me, but are really the beginning of a good path. I still don't know, given that my problems are still dormant and I've "solved" them by avoiding the triggers, which is a problem given that some may make me face them sooner or later.

Confession: She said no, what a surprise :D

Don't sweat too much over it, what is done is done

Sure. My perfect track record of getting rejected when asking girls out is still intact, at least.

At least you have some kind of interaction with girls ;__; It would be nice to talk to 3D girls. Even 2D imagination waifu men need it sometimes.
