VN to get started with as you obviously has some interest in them would be Katawa Shoujo as it's easy to get into. I'm sure you'll get hooked just like the rest of us have. Seconding Katawa Shoujo, it's the easiest to get working and it's a common starting point. If you've watched the Steins;Gate or Clannad anime you might also want try the VNs they are based one.
